In 1970, the average age for people to have their first child was between 21 and 22. By 2000, that number had risen to 25. That age is steadily creeping up and more and more people are deciding to wait until they’re a little older before they have children. There are plenty of different reasons for this; perhaps it’s because people are more career focused and want to put themselves into a more stable position before they have kids. There is also less stigma around divorce, and less pressure to get married early so people are waiting longer before settling down for good. In recent years, there have been cases of mothers having children well into their seventies. Twenty years ago, this simply wouldn’t have been possible. That combination of new technology and a change in attitudes has seen a huge rise in the average age of first-time mothers but it has caused some controversy. But what is the reality? How are people having kids in later life, and is it safe?

Thank you to Andy Pandy for providing these products for me to review. All opinions are 100% my own.
As a mom of a three year old and newborn I'm constantly looking for the best products for my kiddos. I was diagnosed 9 years ago with several rare autoimmune disorders which many doctors believe are the result of a genetic mutation likely caused by environmental factors or constant exposure to chemicals in everyday products. Terrified that my kiddos will follow in my genetic footsteps we have tried our fair share of organic baby products and have to say that Andy Pandy natural and organic baby bath products are our favorite!

Can you believe that it's almost time to head back to school for a new school year? We have less than three weeks to go before my son is back in the classroom. One of our goals this summer was to sit down and start talking about purchasing a new car. With two kids in school this year, we're going to be doing a lot of extra picking up and driving around town. We want to make sure that all of our family vehicles are safe and reliable for our precious kids and their friends. Car shopping can be incredibly stressful and be intimidating if you aren't familiar with the process or are easily overwhelmed by so many vehicle choices. Having helpful information in one easy to access place is incredibly helpful when shopping around for a new car.
Happy weekend! We're so excited about the upcoming theatrical release of Marvel's BLACK PANTHER, and have some new images and a fantastic movie poster to share with you + an exciting teaser trailer! We're big fans of all things MARVEL, and we can't wait to see this one! We loved the Black Panther's cameo in Captain America: Civil War, and can't wait for him to get his own devoted screen time and feature film! Keep reading for the fab new images and to view the trailer!
I am a hopeless romantic. I believe that every relationship one has throughout their life leads them to the one person they will spend their life with. I believe that love at first sight exists. Chris on the other hand believes it is more about a moment that makes you realize the one you are with is the one, but it cannot be at first sight.

Thank you to Meadowbrook Inn & Suites for providing my family with a complimentary hotel stay in exchange for sharing my honest thoughts. All opinions shared are my own.
Blowing Rock, NC is one of my family's favorite mountain towns. Located just about two hours from Rowan County Blowing Rock offers gorgeous accommodations, a beautiful and charming downtown, fun family attractions, fabulous dining, and so much more, all situated right within the breathtaking Great Smokey Mountains. I have been fortunate to visit Blowing Rock several times, on short day trips or 'pass-thru visits.' I have wanted to stay in Blowing Rock, though, because it's such a wonderful place for families to enjoy. Visitors of Blowing Rock have their choice of several charming inns and hotels, located right downtown, and the lovely Meadowbrook Inn is the perfect choice for families.
I’m sure you’ll agree that moms do so much for their families that, when a special occasion like birthday comes around, they deserve to be treated to the best birthday gifts.
Unfortunately, it’s not always that easy to come up with a great gift that will blow mom away. So, I’ve decided to change that by finding a few brilliant birthday gift ideas that moms across the land will love. Check them out:
We recently won tickets to see our local minor league baseball team, the Frederick Keys of Frederick, Maryland. It was my daughters first time going to a baseball game and we had an amazing time!

If we're all completely honest with ourselves, one thing that we all have in common is that we simply have too much stuff. Even if you're not a bonafide hoarder, there's a pretty good chance that you simply have way more junk than you need filling up your home. Now, this isn't always a bad thing. In fact, there's a certain charm to a house that's full of pieces of your personal history and memories. However, there's a fine line between charmingly decorated, and oppressively cluttered. Sadly, more often than not, many of us tend to fall into the second category. Luckily, there are things that you can do. You don't have to spend your life buried under junk. Here are a few ways that you can declutter your home.
How do you start each day? Right now, my morning routine is all off-kilter. It's summertime, everyone is home, and if I'm honest, I'm counting the days until school starts. I love having my family home with me, but trying to work from home with a full house can be quite stressful. We've taken a lot of trips this summer, and have been very blessed to be able to do so. Those trips have helped Sacha and me keep the kids busy, and filled with child-like wonder. These off days at home, however, have been less than pleasant. Constant travel and days where the high temperatures keep us from being able to play outside have given way to bad attitudes- including my own. How do I keep my heart in the right 'frame of mind' when there are constant mini-explosions and meltdowns all around me?

If you plan on moving house with your children, there are a number of different ways that you can turn this (possibly) negative experience into an exciting one instead.
Paint a picture
This can mean either metaphorically or literally. Being able to visualize you and your child's future together, is not only a wonderful bonding moment, but it allows room for your child to adjust mentally, and even have something to look forward to. Talk about how you can decorate their bedroom. Ask what colors they want it to be, and what theme it should have.
Thank you to Precision Elite Digital Kitchen Scale for the product. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
For those who are looking to lead a healthier lifestyle or even if you're an avid burger maker and griller in the summer, you need the EatSmart Precision Elite Digital Kitchen Scale. It is easy to operate and easy to read.

Lots of children have to visit doctors and spend time in the hospital. That is because their young bodies are still getting used to the world. So, there are often many complications that need sorting out during those early years. In most instances, doctors will take a look at the symptoms, perform some tests, and then present the parents with a diagnosis. That information will shape the way in which the parents choose to treat their child. The issue is that more professionals than ever before are making mistakes. That could lead to severe consequences for the individual, and it could mean the child suffers greatly. With that in mind, all parents should follow the step by step procedure outlined below.
In Marvel Studios’ THOR: RAGNAROK, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization—at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger—the Incredible Hulk! THOR: RAGNAROK is directed by Taika Waititi and returns Chris Hemsworth starring as Thor and Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Loki. They are joined by Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson and Karl Urban, with Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins.

Thank you to TOMY for providing me with product in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts shared are my own.
This has been one incredibly hot summer! We have hit triple digits with the temperatures lately, and we are struggling to stay occupied indoors without going stir crazy. It's still four weeks until school starts, and chomping at the bit to get outside and play in the fresh air on the days where it's cool enough for us to actually do so (few and far between this time of year). One of the ways we're enjoying a bit of the outdoors when we're stuck inside this summer is with some fun lawn and garden toys from TOMY.
These Chicken Meatballs are a new recipe for me and they are so easy to make and very tasty. I have made about 300 of them in the past couple of weeks. Aiden has a friend who has many allergies and can't eat a lot of things. He has been spending the night at his house a lot this summer and Chicken Meatballs in their "go to" food and they always have it stoked in their fridge. Aiden has fallen in love with them and asked me to ask his friends mom to make him some. I didn't ask her to make them but I did get her recipe and Aiden says mine pass. So, this will be something we will probably have to also stock in our fridge. He has been eating them at least once a day. I can't wait for you to get the recipe and try these at home.

Thank you for the Empyrean Sheets. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I don't know about you, but I'm a little picky about my bedding. I need sheets that breathe, are soft, but not silky, and that are durable. The sheets are perfect for me. They are soft, have easy care, and seem like they'll last.
When you’re a busy mom, it can be hard to find time to get out to the gym. You might be a single mom so literally can’t get there unless it has a creche. You might not be able to justify the expense of a gym, and don’t see the appeal in going running every night. But exercising is important, especially to keep up with your active kiddos, right? So for many moms, working out at home is the only option there is. But it can be hard to make it work. So here are some tips to make sure that you stick to a workout regimen, and have that much needed time to yourself.
Thank you to Disney Parks for providing me with complimentary park tickets. All thoughts and opinions shared are my own.
Do you dream in Disney? I've been a Disney fan since I was a little girl, and fell in love with movies like 101 Dalmatians, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Jungle Book, and my all-time favorites, The Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast. I didn't take my first trip to Disney World until I was seventeen years old. I loved it- the experience was incredibly magical, even at that age. When I became a mom, I knew that I wanted to be able to experience the magic of Disney World with my family, and dreamed of what it would be like to see my children soaking in every ounce of magical Disney fun and adventure that their wonderful parks offer.
When I was in junior high school, I carpooled to school with a girl in my neighborhood. Our moms were friends from church, and it was a great way to for them to help each other out and save money on gas. As we chatted on our way to school one morning, we talked about our hopes and dreams. When I was a little girl, I had big dreams. Most of them revolved around singing or acting. I was never one to be shy when it came to singing or speaking in font of people. It seemed as natural as breathing.

It's time to start shopping for back to school! Can you believe it? We're winding down our last few weeks of summer, and I am already looking for great deals for the back to school season. B has to wear school uniforms, but he does have certain days through out the year where he is allowed to wear denim- for field trips and special events. We also like to have denim available for the weekends.
Your home is your safe place. So, of course, you want it to be cozy and comforting and generally feel like the right place for you to be. But, that doesn’t always mean that it’s going to be ready to open to the public anytime soon. And when you find out that you may be having guests to stay soon, it can feel you with fear. Because although your home may be comforting, it may not be quite ready to receive any guests. So, if you have friends or family coming to stay with you sometime soon, here are a few tips on how you can make sure your home is ready.

Moving home is an effort in both physical stress, mental pondering, and financial investment. Coming to terms with moving can be difficult in itself, even if you’re off to pastures new. Many people, especially stable family units, dislike the huge amount of change a move to a new location to bring, even if it’s in their interest. It’s hard to blame them. Moving an entire life can prove quite a scary prospect. While you come to terms with the responsibilities that need to be carried out to move, it’s likely that you could be unaware of a range of financial pitfalls that can befall you if you’re not observant.

Thank you to Peaceable Kingdom for providing me with product in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions shared below are my own!
Brain Drain.... it's something that parents hear about every summer and every summer we are given so very many ways to help combat it. Both girls came home with reading logs for a summer reading program, D brought home a packet for a math program she could do online, and R has a packet of things she should practice over the summer so that she knows them for Kindergarten.
I'm all for keeping up the learning during summer vacation, but this summer work is turning out to be just as overwhelming as the work during the school year!
Call me crazy, but I prefer a little less stress and a lot more fun during the summer.
St. Augustine (July 13, 2017) – Summer in Florida may be hot but in St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra & The Beaches we are taking it easy during a time when the crowds thin out and the deals are sizzling.
Sipping on refreshing cocktails, listening to great music, discovering arts and culture, finding a new favorite restaurant and playing in the surf are just a few ways to take it easy on Florida’s Historic Coast this summer.
Happy Saturday! This weekend the Wigglesworth crew is going to focus on playing some board games and maybe some old fashioned hide and seek. I've noticed that we've all been spending a bit too much time on devices this past week, and it is definitely taking a toll.

Summer is upon us. The days are longer, the nights are shorter and we’re basking in the sun’s rays and warmer weather. What’s more? The kids are off school! Keeping them occupied twenty-four seven is your latest challenge, but not to worry. We have your back. You can ensure that your little ones have a brilliant summer holiday without having to stray too far from home or break the bank. In fact, you can show them a great time in your very own backyard. Read on for a few summertime tips and tricks to make the most of your backyard this summer.
Older generations enjoy being cynical about younger generations. They seem to actually enjoy thinking that all the "kids these days" do is sit around playing video games and browsing the Internet. Instead of enjoying face-to-face interactions, they sit there with their eyes glued to their smartphones. Instead of going out and playing with their friends or getting some exercise, they're inside their rooms playing on their PlayBoxes or X-Stations or whatever.
There’s no doubt that this is somewhat of an exaggeration of the gravity of the problem; a lot of kids really don’t fit this description, there is a worry in most parents that their child isn’t social or active enough.
The USA is truly one of the greatest countries in the world, at least from a travel perspective. Our vast and beautiful land is home to many wonderful places. In my humble opinion. Pennsylvania is among the best.
It’s one of the country’s larger states and is blessed several places worthy of a visit. Whether you’re planning a road trip or several visits over the years, there are many reasons for the whole family to get excited. Let’s take a closer look at just five of them now.
If there is one thing most people struggle with when dieting is staying motivated. It can be hard to focus on your journey ahead when all you want to do is tuck into a slice of pizza or have a bar of chocolate. The temptation gets even stronger when everyone else around you is indulging in foods that you are trying to cut out of your lifestyle. So, how do you stay motivated while on a diet?
So, the day has come. Your child is finally off to full-time school. And, although you’ve spent a lot of time fantasizing about the few hours you’ll get to do whatever you need to do, you find yourself crying because you know it won’t be long before you miss your little shadow. We can’t wrap our kids up in cotton wool, but the thought of handing over care of your child to strangers can be worrying. There aren’t many safer places than a school for your child, but it’s always wise to take some safety precautions. Here are a few tips for keeping your child safe.

This summer has been full of craziness for the Wigglesworth crew. We knew earlier in the year that we wouldn't be able to do too much traveling, so we have been trying to focus on what we can do around Connecticut.
Sometimes life won’t just throw you lemons; it’ll chuck them at you at full force. When you’ve been struck with a long term or chronic illness, it can seem like getting back to your pre-sickness self is impossible. However, there’s always a light at the end of every tunnel, and over time you’ll be able to enjoy your life just as much as you did in the past. The following are some tips and advice for those who a recovering after a battle with the health, and some ideas to give your confidence a boost for the future.

Thank you again to LEGOLAND Florida for providing our family complimentary park tickets in exchange for sharing our honest thoughts. All opinions shared are my own.
Hopefully, you were able to catch yesterday's LEGOLAND Florida post, which was Part I of our LEGOLAND Florida visit recap. If not, you can find LEGOLAND Florida- the Ultimate Experience for LEGO Lovers: Part I, here. We had an incredible day at LEGOLAND Florida, and loved every minute of each display, show, ride, and experience. LEGOLAND Florida was perfect for our little LEGO enthusiast, B (6 years old), and there were also plenty of fun things for Baby S (15 months) to explore and enjoy, making this the perfect day trip for the whole family.
The "Why" in Parenting. Book Review on Raising Children: Surprising Insights from Other Cultures by Dr. David Lancy
Thank you to Cambridge University Press for providing this book for me to review. All opinions are 100% my own.
I am many things. I am a mom of a lively three-year-old boy and expecting a baby girl any day now. I am also a wife of almost 8 years, an educator to adolescents and an admirer of all things historical. While I enjoy a good conversation about politics, parenting styles, and educational trends I find those conversations rarely end without a heated debate and myself wondering “why do I keep getting involved?” I have a bachelor's degree in history and masters in education and I feel qualified to engage in such conversations but as an extrovert that has grown into an introvert, I crave conversations where the focus is “why” and not about right or wrong.
We all have that one space in the house that is full to the brim with junk. It starts off as somewhere that you store pieces you don’t have room for or old memories. But before long, it becomes a dumping ground for anything and everything. Sometimes it’s your basement or your attic, but when it’s your garage, you may find that you’re not getting as much use out of it as you could be. Whether you’re looking to sell your house and need to clear it anyway, or you want to be able to start utilizing it more, it’s time to clear it out and sort it out once and for all.
Thank you to LEGO for providing me with product in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts are my own.
We just returned home from our last big trip for the summer. We have one more small trip to the mountains coming up, and then that'll be it until school starts. B goes back to school on August 15th, so we still have a few weeks to fill before he's back in the classroom. I have loved having my babies home with me this summer, but it has been a challenge to keep them both entertained while keeping my sanity. I have found that having planned activities for my son B (6) to enjoy through out the day has really helped curb his attitude and need for screens.
I've moved probably 7 times in 5 years. Therefore, I've become really, really good at it (and never, ever want to move again). Over the years, I've acquired some must-know moving tips and tricks to save you time, frustration, and effort. Here's how to make moving a breeze!

Minnesota is a State with two distinct personalities. One part is a populous cityscape, and the other is beautiful serene prairie land. If it’s geology you’re interested in, then you won’t be disappointed. Minnesota is home to the Earth’s oldest rocks, gneisses that are 3.6 billion years old. Of course, most families visit friends, family, and tourist hotspots in the State. What will you come to Minnesota for?
The Land of 10,000 Lakes
Minnesota is perhaps most famous for its beautiful lakes, rivers, and waterways. There are dozens of ways to enjoy this landscape. If you love boating, why not hire a boat, take a tour, or simply kayak your way around? There are plenty of family friendly water-based experiences to enjoy, wherever you might be in the State. Some of the lakes are enormous. Two of the biggest are in St. Louis County, so maybe start your water tour there?
In the world of real estate selling, the absolutist approach to getting the most money for your home is to in place the standard modern appeals that buyers want nowadays. The fair assessment of buyer’s psychology is that you shouldn’t have to pay extra for the extra bits. This is because there’s already a housing shortage across the Western world as populations continue to grow by immigration and people living longer. On top of this, the younger generation feels worse off from their parents with the task of getting on the housing ladder because their budget is a lot smaller. The next step in understanding the appetite and needs of general buyers is to market the conditions of your property and how it competes with the rest. Once you know your home’s value, you can then set about trying to nail down a comfortable price. However, there are some simple things which you can do to your home on a strict budget, before you call in a surveyor who will set the price via their expert knowledge.
