Sweet Summer Styles for Little Girls by Andy & Evan

Thank you to Andy & Evan for providing me with product in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts shared are my own.

This summer, we've enjoyed visiting so many beautiful and fun places. It really has been the 'summer of us.' We had a major bucket list cross-off event this year, and it's been such a blessing to have those experiences with our children. Through all of our travels, we've done a lot of packing and a lot of laundry. On our second trip of the summer, I wised up and decided that I was going to stop packing so many outfits for each child. When I pack for myself, I pack different tops that I can mix and match with different bottoms. It saves a ton of space, and as long as I have access to a laundry facility, I don't have to worry about those 'what if we have spills' thoughts that all moms have while traveling.

We're getting ready to wrap up the month of August in a few days, and it'll be time for Baby S to go to Day School. My sweet little girl will go to school for three hours a day, two days a week, and I'll admit... it's going to be a tough transition for the both of us. As we think through some of the items we need for sending her off to school, we're trying to get her to feel comfortable with a sippy cup that she actually likes and wants to drink from.

Tiny Improvements That Can Make A Huge Difference To Your Home!

apartment, architecture, bookcase

When it comes to home improvements, a lot of the time, it can be very easy to get caught up with the big jobs. Things like extensions, renovations, and room conversions are the kinds of home improvements that people tend to think about most. There's nothing wrong with this of course. However, it does mean that people often end up neglecting other home improvement jobs that could have a fantastic impact on their home simply because they aren't quite as significant overall. However, it's important not to ignore the smaller improvements to your home because many of them can make a big difference. With that in mind, here are some tiny improvements that you should try out in your home right now.

Cool Back to School Lunch Box Sets from Tupperware + $25.00 Tupperware Credit #Giveaway #MBPBacktoSchool

Thank you to Susan Jackson, Independent Tupperware Consultant, for providing me with product in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts are my own.

Last week was my son's first week back to school. He started on Wednesday, which means that I have already packed three school lunches. B was able to pick out a new lunch box this year (last year's lunch box barely survived the school year), which he was really excited about. The lunch box has a Marvel character theme, which B loves... but recently, he's been totally into Batman. My husband loves Batman, so it's no surprise that B is starting to love him, too. When I looked through new back to school products from Tupperware a few weeks ago, I was excited to see a cool lunch box set that I knew my little Batman fan would go crazy over.

Daily Meals for your Busy Life with Recipe Table! #review #subscription

Thank you to Recipe Table for providing me with product in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts are my own.

I love to cook for my family but like so many others, I find myself so busy that it's just easier to grab something on the way home.  My goal for this new school year is to be better prepared and pre-plan our meals.  I think the wonderful recipes from Recipe Table will be very helpful with my planning.

The lifesaver for parents with technology! #Ventev

Thank you to Ventev for providing me products for my honest review. All thoughts are my own.

In 2014 we welcomed a beautiful baby boy, one that was opinionated and stubborn from day one. As new parents, to this colicky baby, we learned very quickly that we needed time alone to be rejuvenated. My husband wanted to go camping at his favorite spot in the Great Smoky Mountains, I knew he needed to get away and our son was five months old so of course, I could handle things. Then our little boy got really sick and I couldn't reach my husband. His signal was low on his cell phone which had caused his battery to lose power quickly. Without access to electricity, his phone died and he only knew that something was wrong but had no way to charge his phone. How I wish we would have had the powercell 3015c by Ventev back then!

Change the Way You Define Yourself: Monday Motivation

Sometimes, we are our own biggest critic. We are quick to pick out our shortcomings, and even identify ourselves with them; "I can't make friends easily, I'm too shy", "I can't run a business, I don't have enough focus", "I wouldn't be a good athlete, I am not strong enough".

Do It for You

As we become wives and mothers, we can sometimes forget to do things for ourselves.  We forget to put on our makeup and we struggle with making the day to day decisions that will impact not only ourselves but those that we care for.  The one thing we should not forget is that we are someone other than mom, wife, or any other title.  We are women.  We are individuals and we have interests and hobbies that do not have to stop when we take on our titles.  There are things you need to do for you.
What do you like to do?

Back to School Help for Parents On the Go! #MBPBacktoSchool

Thank you to Playgro and ZIPIT for providing products for me to review. All opinions are 100% my own.

It's that time of year when everything gets hectic. Going back to school is so exciting and oh so stressful! My husband and I are both teachers so trying to get our classrooms ready and our children ready is a lot of stress. We are in the car a lot and the preschooler constantly wants another toy, marker, action figure or dinosaur handed to him and our (nearly) two month old is awake more and wants to be entertained. The ZIPIT Beast Box makes it easy to meet the toddler's needs while Playgro's Dingly Dangly Clip Clop has plenty to satisfy our curious baby girl's developmental needs.

Get Your Kids Ready to Head Back to Class with Educational Games from Lakeshore Learning + #Giveaway

Thank you to Lakeshore Learning for providing me with product in exchange for my honest review. All opinions shared are my own.

This summer has gone by in such a flash! We've been on the road, and have also had down time at home for a few weeks here and there. My little guy actually just started school this week, and we've spent a good deal of time getting ready to be focused on learning in the classroom by learning through play at home this summer. Since B was a baby/toddler, I have spent a lot of time and energy working with him on reading, math, and overall early childhood development. I started a homeschool preschool program with him when he was just shy of three years old, and haven't looked back since, supplementing what he's working on in school at home. I aim to do the same thing with Baby S, who is now 16 months old.

First Day of School 2017 #WordlessWednesday

Today, my little dude started back to school for the 2017-2018 school year. I officially have a first grader in my house. How did this happen so quickly? It seems like only yesterday that we were prepping him for his first day of preschool, and now he's in a whole new school with new teachers and friends! I am so grateful that he's in such a safe, loving, Christian environment and loves his school.

Money Making Tips For Stay At Home Moms

Being a mom is a full-time job, but it’s one that doesn’t guarantee you a paycheck at the end of every month. Of course, there are other rewards in the role, but who doesn’t want to earn some extra money from time to time to supplement the family income. Well, we have some great news. It is possible to earn money without ever leaving your front door. So, without sacrificing the needs of your children, here are some great money making ideas you might find useful.

Five Minute Magic Mug Cake

Want to make a cake in a jiffy? Forget about the traditional method of mixing and turning on the oven to bake it. The other night, my son was begging me to make a cake for dessert. We were so short on time and had about an hour before bedtime. There wasn't time to bake a whole cake, so I told him that we could make a quick cake in a mug and bake it in the microwave. He and my hubby were both skeptical as to whether or not it would actually work. To their surprise, it did, and the result was pure deliciousness!

Remodeling? Make It Kid-Friendly!

When you get the chance to transform your home, it makes sense to grab that chance with both hands. A tired home is one that needs a lot of TLC and finding the time among a busy family life isn’t easy! A remodel, even just of one room, can be time-consuming and stressful, and when you have children running around your feet it can send you off the edge of sanity.

7 Ways To Beat Those Post Vacation Blues

Believe it or not, summer is almost over. Sorry, but it’s true. We are well into the month of August, and for many of us, the remainder of our vacation time will be spoiled by the thought of having to return to reality. So whether you have been basking on the beaches of a tropical island or enjoying a sightseeing journey in a far away country, your vacation time will soon come to a close. Depressing isn’t it, but sadly not every day is a holiday. For most of us at least.

If you're a pet parent or caregiver, you only want what's best for your sweet, furry family member(s). PetSuites recently opened a new location in Charlotte (Archdale), and I had the pleasure of visiting and touring with their amazing staff. I'm not a pet parent myself, but there are some very sweet dogs in our family, belonging to my parents, and my sister. I couldn't wait to share how wonderful PetSuites is with them.

Need a Sweet Summer Read? Finding Gobi is your answer: Book #Review + #Giveaway

Thank you for providing me with product in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts are my own.

We love dogs in our house and Aiden couldn't wait to read this sweet book.  We knew it was going to be good just by the cover and it seems we were correct.

When You Feel Like Giving Up, Keep Holding On

How many times have you felt like throwing in the towel? My guess is that it's been more than once in your life, and you've been through situations of extreme frustration. I've been in a situation for the past couple of years that has left me frustrated, wanting to give up. I'm met with such a roller coaster of mixed emotions when I think about it. For me, though, I'm deeply invested in the situation that causes me stress, anxiety, and sometimes even pain. I'm so rooted in it, that I can't let go, and in fact, and holding on with every ounce of my being.

Rise Up

We all ride the merry-go-round of life.  Sometimes we need the motivation to do so.  This song is my
daily morning song, because it boosts my mood, my spirit, and my heart.  There are struggles we all face and watch others face.  There are struggles some need help to overcome.  I hope the lyrics of this song motivate you to make changes for you, to step in and be there for someone else, and to recognize that we all rise up.

Travel Essentials For Keeping Your Baby Happy On The Move

Traveling alone can be stressful enough, but when you’re doing it with a baby in tow - be prepared for water works. Taking your baby with you as you carry out errands and visit friends requires a lot of planning to make sure you have everything you need, as well as make sure that your baby stays in a good mood. Here are some of the top travel essentials you’ll need to keep you and your baby happy.

Weekends with the Wigglesworths-The Start of Soccer Season

Happy Saturday! This weekend is starting off with R's first ever soccer practice. This year, both girls will be playing (on different teams of course), and they are super excited. I'm pretty excited too, but I am also a little worried about how I am going to balance both girls playing, especially once school starts.

Don’t Let A Bad Job Kill You

Some jobs are bad because they pay little or are poorly organized. Others are bad for a more serious reason – they’re damaging to your physical health. Whilst there are more health and safety regulations in place than ever before, this hasn’t ironed out all the hazards in our workplaces. In fact, there may be risks that you haven’t even realized haven’t been addressed. Here are some tips for spotting these potential health hazards. You can then choose to notify your employer of how to combat these risks or leave to find a safer job (this could be the preferred solution).

Five for Friday- Five Destinations We Wish Were Part of our Summer Vacation

The other day we figured out we had just about 20 days left of summer vacation. Yesterday, we received an e-mail from the school regarding the upcoming Back to School Ice Cream Social. Every year, as summer is winding down and back to school approaches, I look back and wish we took more trips and enjoyed the freedom of the summer season more. This year, I am feeling a little more down than usual, probably because of the lack of traveling.

First Birthday Gifts To Last Forever

Let’s be honest; a baby’s first birthday is more about the adults than the children. The baby isn’t going to remember this in a few days, let alone a few years. Besides which, they have no concept of what’s happening or even any awareness that it’s for them. Yet, we rush around to get everything perfect, because it’s our bundle of joy’s big day.

And, there’s no denying that this is a special occasion. In many ways, it seems unfair that our kids can’t take these memories forwards with them. Why shouldn’t they get to join in the celebrations of their first year?

Make No Mistake: Tips To Prevent A Misdiagnosis

Doctors are only human, just like us, so it’s not completely infeasible for them to get something wrong when they are trying to diagnose their patients. More often than not, this doesn’t cause too much worry as the correct diagnosis can be quickly given once they realize their mistake. They can then give the patient the right medication to clean up their health condition.

Keep Those Back to School Germs at Bay with Purell

Thank you to Purell for providing me with product in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts shared are my own.

My son heads back to school next week (where did the summer go?), and we're all excited for the new school year to begin. B goes to a small, private school, and unless there's a big increase in new students, there is typically one class per grade level. This means that B will pretty much be with all of the same kids that he was with last year, and we won't have to deal with him being exposed to a new group of people. Baby S is starting Day School in September, and she's never been exposed to groups of other children, so I imagine she'll wind up fighting colds a good bit this school year.

Life is too Short to....

There are so many things in life that we tend to procrastinate or push off because tomorrow is a new day.  Not to sound morbid but for some of us tomorrow will not come.  If today was your last day what would you want to do?  What would you want to say?   Life is too short to...

For me, life is too short to live with regret or to pretend to be okay when you are not.  Life is too short to wait to say I love you or to work towards your dreams and goals.  Life is too short to wait for the perfect opportunity.  Make today your perfect opportunity.  Make today the day your dreams come true. How would you do it?  What would you say?

Common Health Concerns for Women and How to Keep Them at Bay

While we might get any diagnosis regardless of our gender, certain problems are more common for women - just like men have their share of challenges as well. The more we know about the threats to our health, the easier it will be to stay educated and do something about it. Many of these tend to come with age, which means that there might be preventative measures we can take already to live happy and healthy as senior citizens in many years from now.

Experience the New TOPPED and LOADED Menu at Applebee's!

I was provided with an Applebee's gift card to facilitate this post. All thoughts shared are my own.

After a very busy summer, my family is settling back into a 'normal' routine. We're getting ready to head back to school next week, and making the most of these last few days of summer vacation. With our days filled with activities and excitement, the last thing I want to do is cook. It's rare that we eat dinner out, unless we're crunched for time or we have a special reason to celebrate. When we do decide to eat out, we tend to stick with visiting our favorite restaurants. One of our favorite restaurants for family dining is Applebee's. When my family moved to the city we live in almost twenty years ago, Applebee's was one of the only 'big restaurants' in town. I can't help but smile as I think back on all of the times I've eaten there...

Exclusive Look at the Avon A Box #Fall Fashion #Review + $25.00 Avon Shopping Credit #Giveaway

Thank you to Vanessa Wigglesworth of Avon for providing me with product in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions shared are my own.

My mom sold Avon when I was young, and many of their products were staples in our household. We never left the house during the summer without smearing on Skin So Soft sunscreen, and my first lip balm was adorned with the iconic label. One of my favorite pass times was flipping through the new catalog when it arrived and longing for the day I would be able to wear all the beautiful makeup.
Life happened and my mom eventually stopped receiving our monthly shipments but my fond memories of Avon remain.

Living in Fear?

I have had my fair share of job interviews. At the age of 14 I started working for Reed Gold Mine in Midland, North Carolina as a tour guide. I am currently 33 and have worked over 20 different jobs, many at the same time so that I could make rent. I have applied to dozens more and have had nearly 50 interviews for jobs in my lifetime. One of the most common questions during these interviews is "what is your greatest weakness?". Friends, my greatest weakness is fear.

A Field of Beauty! #wordlesswednesday

This is a gorgeous field of sunflowers that I pass a couple of times a day.  I have wanted to stop and take pictures of it every year, and I finally did.  Good thing I did it when I did.  We haven't had any rain and they are all starting to droop over.

A Healthy Home is a Happy Home

A lot of parents like the idea of getting just a little bit healthier. And, of course, every parent wants their kids to be as healthy as possible. It can be hard to achieve this goal, though, with the busyness of life getting in the way. Unfortunately, a lot of families fall short in this department, and it isn’t through lack of trying. Instead, families don’t reach their full health potential simply because their house doesn’t have the right tools. To help you out with this, this post will be going through some of the best ways to improve your home and make it healthier.

Brew the Perfect Cup of Tea with Adagio #Review

Thank you to Adagio Tea for providing me with product in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts are my own.

Do you drink tea? I have many warm memories of my mom making me a cup of calming tea to get me ready to sleep, it always made me feel special and a little more grown-up. Over the last few years I've started to experiment more, trying different black teas and herbal blends; picking up a box or two of bags while at the grocery store. I would stare longingly at the fancy tea stores that have been popping up but always felt overwhelmed by all the variety and contraptions. I wanted to start brewing loose leaf teas but had no idea where to start.

Thinking about Australia?

Thank you for allowing me to share some information regarding Australia! All thoughts are my own.

When Australia is mentioned to Americans, many different thoughts come to mind. As with any topic, people's thoughts, opinions and misconceptions are based on their knowledge and experience. Not surprisingly, many American opinions of Australia are backed by popular culture. Some envision a world of adventure filled with poisonous animals and replays of Steve Irwin wrestling dangerous creatures while Crocodile Dundee explores the great Outback.

Coloring For All Ages! #Review + Prize Pack #Giveaway

Thank you to Fox Chapel Publishing for providing me with product in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts are my own.

I love to color when I have some free time.  I don't get to do it often enough.  My kids at school also love to color and they love to color in adult coloring books.

Easy Weeknight Meals for the School Year

With a new school year about to begin, our lives are going to be crazier than ever. This year, I'll have two kiddos in school (one in 1st grade, and the other in a toddler class at Day School). Hubby also teaches, and his last class of the day lets out at 5:15 pm, putting him home around 5:30. Thank goodness we live close to the college! It's going to be my responsibility to be better about planning our meals, and getting dinner on the table by 5:30 each night. Bedtime is 7:30 pm during the school year, and to get everyone fed, bathed, and tucked in on time, we have to eat early.

Having a go-to list of quick and easy meals that the whole family loves is a must for us! Today, I am sharing a whole list of quick and easy dinner ideas that the entire family will gobble right up...
