Homemade, Fast with Tupperware #Review #Giveaway

Thank you to Susan Jackson of Tupperware for providing me with product in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions shared are my own.

During the winter, I enjoy babysitting large pots of soup and stew; now that summer is here, I want to be in and out of the kitchen ASAP. Quick and easy meals usually contain a lot of shortcuts and processed foods that we try to avoid. With temperatures just under 100 degrees in May, I know I needed something to help speed up cooking, without cutting corners.

Be Active this Summer!

I love summer for a variety of reasons:
  • the weather
  • being able to use our pool
  • going to the park with Hendrix
  • all the fresh fruits and veggies
  • the sunshine in general

Family Time with My Gnome on the Roam + #Giveaway

Thank you to My Gnome on the Roam for providing me with this product for review. All opinions are 100% my own.

One could say that my family has a long history with gnomes so when this product became available I was so excited to try it! In the early 1980s, my grandmother created what we called a “fairyland” that started with a house for a wild rabbit and progressed into a backyard full of whimsical gnomes and various other items. I grew up next door so to say that my childhood was imaginative is an understatement. I am so excited that my children can have similar experiences with My Gnome on the Roam!

More than a Mom

I have struggled with being a mom at times because I have tried to put all my heart into being a mom.  My friendships have faded and over time it stopped mattering to me.  As my son is older now and is starting to need me less, I have found that I feel unfulfilled.  I needed to find out who I am beside a mom.  How did I lose myself?

Where is it?

This picture has been circulating for a while now, and I am interested to see if you can find this mysterious phone, which is blended in with the rug. Call it a challenge, if you will. This should be fun!

Can you spot it? Comment 'I found it' when you do!

Paparazzi Jewelry- Be Camera Ready for $5! #Review #Giveaway

Thank you to Regina Bell of Paparazzi for providing me with product in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions shared are my own.

When I was working retail, we were expected to dress up, wear makeup, and accessorize for each shift; becoming a stay at home mom made me a lot more casual. Over the past year, I've been getting involved in local politics, there are a lot of events that require me to look more put-together. I don't have a lot of money to update my wardrobe, luckily I've discovered Paparazzi Jewelry.

How to Pack for Your FamilyVacation #TipTuesday

After taking dozens of trips with my family, you'd think that I would be an expert when it comes to packing. I wish that was the case. Truth be told, I detest packing for trips, and find it all kinds of stressful. Waiting until the last minute tp pack just doesn't fly with me. I take the entire week before we leave for a trip, and do different things on different days. Breaking up the packing helps me to stay organized and sane.

Their newfound partnership is put to the test when Dusty’s old-school, macho Dad (Mel Gibson) and Brad’s ultra-affectionate and emotional Dad (John Lithgow) arrive just in time to throw the holiday into complete chaos.

Rainy Summer Days With Barefoot Books #Review #Giveaway

Thank you to Donna Hart of Barefoot Books for providing me with product in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions shared are my own.

This week's weather forecast is full of thunderstorms and gloomy weather. Usually that would fill me with dread but after so many days spent outside in the upper 90's, I'm welcoming it. What a great time to relax indoors, bonding with my daughters.

Your Face Will Love Arbonne #review, #MBPspotlightsponsor

I received product from Diandra Adams and Arbonne in exchange for my review.  All opinions are 100% my own.

I'm excited to introduce Diandra Adams to you.  Diandra is an Independent Consultant with Arbonne.  I had heard of Arbonne before but had never used any of their products.  I looked around on Diandra's page and was very interested in the skincare line.  I grew up at the beach and was always in the sun and I never wore sunscreen.  I tan very easily.  I still love the sun and I love to be tan, but I do use sunscreen now.

Holden Beach - Vacation Dreams

Isn’t it funny how you picture your vacation?  Sun and laughter.  Sleeping in.  Fabulous dinners.  Long walks on the beach.  That just sounds wonderful.  We are on a week vacation in Holden Beach, NC (picture above).  There are 18 of us.  8 are children.  5 are ages 5 and under.  I will let your imagination do the rest.

Workout Recovery With Rapid Results

Injuring yourself or having to recover from exercise is a difficult process. Particularly with muscle pulls and repair, life can be very hard when you have to deal with these issues. Unfortunately, this part of exercise is one that a lot of people don’t tell you about. It’s completely natural to be sore after you’ve done exercise. But, until you’re healed; you can’t exercise properly again. So, you should be looking for ways to ensure a speedy recovery. To help you out, this post will be going through some methods to turn your recovery time down a significant notch.

Health Tips You Can Apply To An Everyday Routine

The adverts for healthy living never seem to apply to the everyday person. These promotional images seem to assume that we all have time to spend ten hours a day in a gym or the money to afford ridiculously expensive organic foods for every single meal. These health companies just don’t seem to be geared towards the average person, and that’s often what puts so many people off the “healthy living” route. We’re all busy people. You might have work worries, school worries, family worries, or even personal worries which occupy the majority of your day and leave no time to worry about silly, unimportant things such as… the health of your body.

Peet's Coffee for Father's Day- Because Dad Deserves the Good Stuff

Thank you to Peet's Coffee for providing me with a sample in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts are my own.

Quick- if you still need a last-minute Father's Day Gift for dad, just think coffee! My husband isn't that much of a coffee drinker, or at least, he didn't use to be. After two semesters of teaching college courses, giving private trombone lessons, playing gigs on nights and weekends, and still being a rock star husband and dad at home, hubs is turning to coffee more and more to get through those rough days. My own dad and I share a love for coffee breaks- there's nothing that a good cup of coffee can't cure in the afternoon!

Broo Who? Broo Youfor Father's Day

I have the most sensitive skin so when my husband has a rough beard I prefer no kisses.
This is where Broo Craft Beer comes into place.
The skin care line comes with shower wash, mug and mane lotion, and conditioning shave cream.
Concerned that he would come out of the shower/bathroom smelling like a brewery... but surprisingly enough you don't smell the beer at all.  His skin is softer, his beard does't hurt, and he smells amazing.

Jack and Jill for G- Date Night for Adults

Date night this week was a Jack and Jill party for my husband's best friend, G.  In two weeks he will be marrying the love of his life. As a "last" hurrah we attended this Jack and Jill party to celebrate his happiness but also for some much-needed adult time.

Keep the Smells of Summer at Bay with Odor Neutralizers from EnviroKlenz!

This is a sponsored story on behalf of EnviroKlenz. I received compensation and product in exchange for sharing my honest opinion. All thought are my own.

It's summertime, and my kids are home, which means that my house is almost always dirty! I love my two kiddos, but they're messy, and track in all kinds of dirt and debris from outside. We try to spend as much time outdoors as possible, and it just can't be helped when the outdoors comes back inside on our shoes, bare feet, clothing, hands, etc. It's not always easy to stay on top of the dirt in the home when you have two adorable little mess-makers with you. I strive for a clean and fresh-smelling house every day, but it's nearly impossible to keep it so without having to continually sweep, dust, and pick things up off the floor.

Weekends with the Wigglesworths-Father's Day Weekend 2017

Happy Saturday. I am so excited I almost cannot contain it. Not only is it the last weekend before the end of school (we have just 3 days to get through!), it's also Father's Day weekend!

Is Three A Crowd? Take Back Control Of Your Bedroom

All parents know that crushing feeling of hearing a little voice mumble ‘Mommy?’ the moment their head hits the pillow. There goes your peaceful night’s sleep. Sleeping in Mommy and Daddy’s bed may be fun for your kid, but the same can’t be said for you. Three's a crowd. Plus the unwelcome addition kills any chance of romance. If the situation continues, it can become a problem. So, we’re going to look at what you can do to make sure your child stays in their bedroom overnight.

Go Green for Father's Day with These Easy DIY Father's Day Photo Gifts

This is a sponsored project on behalf of TomatoInk. All thoughts are my own.

Father's Day is just around the corner, and it's not too late to make a memorable gift for dad! My kids love to create their own special gifts for special occasions, and Father's Day is the perfect time to put their creativity to good use. This year, we decided to make DIY Photo Blocks for Father's Day. It's a very easy and inexpensive craft that takes little time to make but will be a very special gift that will be very much loved and appreciated.

Five Favorite Places to Visit in Connecticut

Happy Friday readers! Over the last few weeks, we've been going back and forth with trying to plan our Summer vacation. We LOVE going to Florida, but it doesn't look like we'll be making it down, so we've been thinking about places we love to visit right here in Connecticut
There really is quite a bit to do around here, but to prevent me from going on and on, we've picked 5 of our favorites to share with you.

Now Dad Can Have the Perfect Coffee Break with the Keurig K55 Coffee Maker + Tully's Coffee K-Cup Pods

Thank you to Keurig for providing me with product in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts shared are my own.

My husband is a seriously hard working guy. Honestly, he amazes me. He'll come home at the end of the day to a crazy house. I'm often frazzled, and the kids are so anxious to see their dad after a long day at home with mommy. After five minutes in the house, he'll look at me and say, 'Sweetie, I just don't know how you do all of this.' On the flip side- I don't know how he does it all. He works all day, sometimes plays gigs in the evenings, and when he's home, he's a super dad, helping with the household stuff, and the kids. I guess you could say that we make a great team.

Do You Really Need a Car? Convince Your Children to Ditch Their Vehicle

Buying a car is somewhat of a rite of passage for teenagers. Even though most of our kids don’t actually buy their own vehicle (most of it comes out of our pocket) it’s still a big turning point in their life and it helps them become a lot more independent since they can travel where they want and drive around whoever they want to. However, owning a vehicle is becoming something that is increasingly expensive, and it’s not uncommon for people to spend thousands every year just to keep their vehicles running.

Maintenance costs, parking fees, fuel economy and insurance are just some of the things you need to worry about when purchasing a vehicle, and when our children are barely old enough to drive and don’t have jobs yet, most of those payments are going to come from you. So in order to convince your child that they don’t need their own car quite yet, here are some compelling arguments that will make them think otherwise.

Florida Bound- BlogHer '17 Conference & Family Fun

Look out Florida, the Witts are headed your way! I am over the moon excited to be heading to Florida this weekend. Our trip is twofold. Saturday and Sunday will be travel days. We'll stop near Savannah to spend the night on Saturday. We opted to spend the night somewhere because nine hours in the car with my Little Bean is a little bit more than I can handle. It'll be better for everyone if we drive for a few hours, take a rest, and then make the rest of the drive at our leisure on Sunday.

Avoiding The ER: Top Tips To Prevent Garden Accidents This Summer

The summer holidays are nearly upon us, and the last thing we want to think about is taking a trip to the ER. The reality is that accidents happen, and if you’re a parent, you probably know all too well that they tend to happen when you least expect them. Scrapes and grazes are part and parcel of growing up, but there are some ways you can reduce the risk of your children being involved in accidents. Here are some top tips to help you avoid the ER this summer.

Mother/Daughter Summer Sweetness from Shrimp & Grits Kids + $50.00 GC #Giveaway

Thank you to Shrimp & Grits Kids for providing me with product in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts shared are my own.

Be a pineapple. Stand tall, wear a crown, and be sweet on the inside. Have you heard that saying before? It's my official saying for summer 2017- the season of the pineapple. I love pineapple, and I could eat it all day long- if it didn't make my tongue feel so funny, that is. Jokes aside, pineapples are so beautiful to look at. They're exotic, prickly on the outside, but bright, sunny, and super sweet on the inside. I found a pair of pineapple dresses that were perfect for Baby S and I to twin in this summer, and they are cute as can be!

Father's Day is Even Sweeter with Graeter's!

Thank you to Graeter's Ice Cream for providing me with produc in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts are my own.

What's the best way to treat dad for Father's Day? In my family, we usually celebrate Father's Day by going out to lunch, and getting together to open gifts and have a nice dessert together. This year, we'll be celebrating Father's Day a little later in the month of June. I'll be out of town on Father's Day, and I'm kind of sad about that. It'll be one of the first Father's Days that I haven't spent with my own dad. My family will be on the road- on our way to Florida for the annual BlogHer Conference.  While I am excited about the conference, I'll miss celebrating with my dad on Father's Day. I've been trying to come up with a way to make our celebration extra fabulous this year, and I think that I have all of the components in place. Our celebration will include a nice meal out at a favorite resturant, presentation of gifts, and of course- the best ever ice cream for dessert!

Dad, We Need To Talk: Father’s Day Gift Advice That Never Fails

Father’s Day is only a couple of days away, and your gift might not be in the bag just yet. In fact, it’s highly likely that you have no idea what to get the main man (sorry babe) in your life! Dads are notoriously hard to buy for and don’t get easier with age. If anything, they get harder. Thankfully, it doesn’t matter what type of man your dad is because they all share a few traits. If you stick to the following, your present is bound to be a big hit.

Involve The Grandkids

Although it’s a little hurtful at times, it is sweet how much dads love their grandchildren. All they need to do is spot them across the room and their faces light up, the parents not the kids. There is no doubt that anything grandkids do in front of their grandparents is always a hit, which is why they need incorporating into your gift. It can be as simple as making a homemade card and handing it to them the first thing in the morning. Or, a collage of all of the sweetest photos of all of them together will melt their heart. When in doubt, don’t hesitate to let the kids bear the brunt of the pressure. Don’t worry – they never fail!

Go Generic

Dads are terrible to buy presents for because they have few hobbies. However, the ones they do have they invest in one-hundred percent. It sounds like an easy fix, but it is always a good idea to go with a generic, hobby-based gift. For one thing, the odds of them liking it are higher than trying something new. Let’s face it – they are creatures of habit. Plus, there is usually enough variety for someone like you to spice things up a bit. Is your father a fisherman? Instead of a new rod or tackle box, try waders to enhance the experience. Does your dad like sports? Opt for a year long cable package so he can sit at home and enjoy his favorites from his armchair.

Comfort Is King

There is no doubt that dads like to settle in for the night and relax. They work too hard and have done for the past couple of decades to care about being productive. Yes sir, they just want to sit and let the time pass them by. Kids like to change this habit for a number of reasons, yet you should promote their dad logic. To do that, find the comfiest casual clothes and accessories and wrap them with up with a cute little bow. All you have to do is find the best slippers and dressing gowns on the market and you’re golden. Oh, and don’t forget sweatpants while you are at it because they are essential!

Finally, don’t fret over something that is out of your control. Most dads do enjoy the thought, and that’s what counts. If they don’t, they should be tactile enough to pretend for their kid’s sake.

Get Your Bling On with Midwest Pixie #review #spotlightsponsor

Stressed Moms: Here's How To Achieve A Deep Sleep

There are many tips and tactics on how to get a better night’s sleep, some of which have been covered here on this blog. But for stressed out moms, the most important aspect of your sleep is the quality of it, not the amount of time you can spend in bed.

When your little ones finally start sleeping through the night, it can be incredibly tough to get your routine back to normal - you are still on ‘red alert’ mode and are frightened of getting the deep sleep you need to have a productive day. With this in mind, here are some top tips for getting over that stressful, baby-caused insomnia that all mothers endure.

Step Out in Comfort and Style in Oka B. Sandals this Summer

Thank you to Oka B. for providing me with product in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts shared are my own.

As much as I love my flats and boots, I am so happy to tuck them away for the summertime, and let my feet shine in beautiful sandals. The older I get (I'm just 34, by the way), the more particular I am about the shoes and sandals I wear. I want high style, but I also want ultimate comfort. These days, I have a six-year-old to keep up with, and am usually baby wearing or pushing around a stroller when we're out and about. My feet can't take an entire day of pounding the pavement in shoes with zero support. That's why I turn to one of my favorite brands for all day comfort and style.

Increase Your Small Home's Appetite For A Dining Room

For people who live in very small houses or apartments, creating a dining room is probably the last thing on their mind. After all, they could always just fit a dining table in their kitchen instead. That may be one solution, but if you do decide to go with that, you will be missing all the sophistication that comes with a dining room! You will be able to fit a dining room even into the smallest of rooms in your home. Here’s how.

Summer Camp + Kids + Peaceable Kingdom = Perfect Match + Review + Giveaway

I received product from Peaceable Kingdom in exchange for my review.  All opinions are 100% my own.

It's summer time again, which means Aiden will be heading to Summer Camp soon.  This year he will attend Lutheridge for a week!  He is so excited.  My family loves Lutheridge and I'm so excited for him to go.  I know that he will make wonderful friends and memories.  He received some awesome camp supplies from Peaceable Kingdom that he can use at camp.  I love the Camp Journal he received.  If he will take the time to write in it, it will be a treasured memory from camp.  It has different sections for Aiden to fill out about his cabin, goals, address section for him to use to mail postcards, a section to get his new friends addresses to stay in touch and a camp activity section.  It's a really great book to help you remember your camp experience.

Keep Dad Hydrated this Summer with New MARVEL Water Bottles from Nalgene + $50.00 Product Pack #Giveaway

Thank you to Nalgene for providing me with product in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts shared are my own.

My family is constantly on the go. We're always running from one thing to the next, and my poor husband does the majority of running the errands, kid drop off/pick up, work, and everything in between. He's such a wonderful man, and a fabulous partner. He's always keeping tabs on me and the kids- asking how much water we've had to drink. To be honest, I find that water is an acquired taste, and I'm not so keen on drinking a lot of it. I know it's neccessary to drink a lot of water, though... our bodies need it, and I need to be better about setting a good example for my kids in that regard.

Sleeping In! #mondaymotivation

Good morning!!  It's my first official day of summer break and I can't wait to sleep in.  Sleeping in for me is usually about 7:00 or so, but just the fact of not having to set my alarm clock is so exciting!  I am hoping that this little bit of extra sleep will motivate me to get some things done.  What motivates you to get moving?

Get a Good Night’s Sleep this Summer

Summer might be the best season for those of us who love the sun, but even the biggest sun-worshippers amongst us can agree that sticky summer nights can be tough, especially when the heat makes it almost impossible to get a good night’s sleep.

The good news is that it is perfectly possible to get a great night’s sleep even in the most intense heat if you do the following:

Outdoor Safety Tips for You and Your Little Ones!

Sometimes, as a parent, the last thing you want to see is a list of dangers that the world can pose to your child! After all, we spend so much of our time worrying about the safety of our children, often before they’re even born. But knowing the dangers can actually be reassuring in many ways; you’ll have more opportunities to tackle them!

Showing Appreciation for Your Spouse- Date Day

We sit together as a family every night and go over our days, but sometimes we need that extra time with just the two of us.  Chris and I have taken to having date nights just so we can catch up with each other and not have to worry about little ears that seem to hear everything.
