Dove Chocolate Discoveries Review and Giveaway

There aren't many women I know who don't love chocolate... I am certainly one of those who needs chocolate! Any taste of chocolate will do in a chocolate emergency: a solid piece of chocolate, a cupcake, lick of frosting, a brownie, even chocolate milk does the trick for my chocolate cravings every now and then. Chocolate is everywhere- in our homes, on the store shelves, tempting us at the coffee shops, in sauces, smeared all over little faces and in our tummies! These days, chocolate even gets its very own party!

Have you heard of Dove Chocolate Discoveries? I had only just heard it mentioned on Facebook a couple of times, and I thought that it was just a company who sold chocolates. I was so very mistaken, friends! DCD is a direct sales company specializing in many types of chocolate offerings! When Janette Bennett, a rep with DCD contacted me regarding a DCD review, I of course, jumped out of my seat at the chance to try some chocolates from them!

My sweet little goodies from DCD...

Janette was kind enough to send me my own little package of goodies from DCD. When my package arrived, I could smell the chocolate through the packaging. My mouth was watering before I even knew what awaited my taste buds! I was excited to see that Janette chose to send me two of the DCD drink mixes and a package of Cinnamon Dusted Chocolate Covered Almonds. The drink mixes she sent were Vanilla Chai Tea  and Pear Flavored Cider: White Chocolate. Is your mouth watering yet?

DCD Milk Chocolate Cinnamon Dusted Almonds...

Let me start with the almonds. I love chocolate. I love almonds. I do not love cinnamon. When I saw that the almonds were chocolate covered, I was excited. When I saw that they were dusted in cinnamon, I was almost already deciding that I probably wouldn't like them before I even tasted one. I love the way cinnamon smells, but the taste of cinnamon and be really overpowering and it's a spice I only like a tiny little bit of. I knew I needed to try the almonds and to give you my honest opinion about them, so I went for it, dove right in and braved those almonds. My taste buds were immediately tingling- delighted by the dance of the swimming milk chocolate being chased by the cinnamon dust. I was so surprised that not only did I think the combination of flavors was just okay, I was in love! The cinnamon dust cuts the chocolate in a beautiful way, and the added crunch of the fresh almonds satisfies mouth and the tummy! I was instantly hooked on this yummy treat, and so was my husband. He came home and saw the package and just tore into them. They didn't last long in our home. These almonds can be purchased in milk or dark chocolate.

I am absolutely a hot beverage girl. I don't care if it's 100 degrees outside... I can drink a hot beverage any time of day, any time of year. When the weather turns cool, I want warm beverages all day long! Sure, I get my coffee fix in the mornings, but I usually need a warm beverage in hand by late afternoon. DCD has an amazing selection of (you guessed it) chocolate beverages- warm and cold!

DCD Chair Tea Mix
The first beverage I tried from DCD was the Vanilla Chai Tea mix.I love chai tea, and the vanilla flavoring made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Vanilla is one of those flavors that just sort of makes me feel at home. The chai tea was in an individual single serve pack, and was very easy to make. I just poured the mix into my favorite mug (from Starbucks!), added hot water from my tea kettle, stirred it for a minute, and voila- instant vanilla chai tea, which was so delicious- it absolutely left me wanting more.
There are even recipes featured on Janette's DCD website for many of the DCD products. There was a sticker on my chair tea pack that had instructions for using the tea mix to make a sweet dip! Mmm... good to know that these mixes are so versatile! You really get your bang for your buck with these mixes!

Features of the DCD Chai Tea Mixes:
  • Easy to make; just add hot water
  • Convenient single serve pack
  • Individually wrapped for freshness
  • Rim your mug with one of our delicious Dusting Powders for a more indulgent beverage
  • Perfect gift for anyone who loves tea (or who doesn't care for coffee)
  • Blend of black teas with honey and robust spices
  • Made with real bourbon vanilla from Madagascar
  • Spice, Vanilla and Raspberry Chai 65mg caffeine per 34g serving
  • Chocolate Chai 50mg caffeine per 34g serving

*New* White Chocolate Pear-Flavored Cider from DCD

Last, but not least, I tried the yummy White Chocolate Pear-Flavored Cider that is new to DCD this season. The whole concept of chocolate cider threw me for a loop. This is the most interesting, non-traditional cider I have ever tried. Normally, when I think of cider, I think of apples and cinnamon. This beverage mix is really, truly a pear cider (and I love pears!), mixed with the taste of white chocolate. I don't normally like white chocolate, but it just melts into the pear cider, making the entire beverage a beautiful blend. This is the perfect fall beverage. As soon as I took my first sip, I closed my eyes and immediately saw falling leaves, families gathering to share stories and good food, etc. I would definitely recommend serving this cider at your fall gatherings. I enjoyed the cider so much that I decided to pour the rest of the almonds into a little dish and enjoy the two of them together! What a delightful afternoon that was! Add the mix and hot water together in your favorite mug to enjoy this special treat. You could even add a cinnamon stick or a splash of rum to make it extra enjoyable!

Enjoy a DCD beverage and chocolate treat for a special afternoon or evening!

I could spend all day telling you about all of the wonderful products DCD has to offer! They have candies, drink mixes, sauces, and they even have tools for you to make your own chocolate! Who wouldn't want to do that? Visit Janette's website for the complete selection of yummy chocolate treats. Sticky Words Vinyl Lettering Review and Giveaway

One of the worst things about buying a new house is staring at blank, ugly walls... especially when those walls have been left behind with the previous homeowner's mark! I love decorating my home, but being on a very tight budget has left me wanting more than I can afford. We have very high ceilings in our living room, which is amazing, but poses a problem when it comes to decorating. I envisioned pictures of my family and anything to warm up my living room. I wanted it to feel homey and welcoming, where people would never want to leave.  I picked out some pieces, but felt like there was still something missing.

Sticky Words Vinyl Lettering

I had spoken with my sister at one point and told her that I was interested in getting some vinyl lettering or wall art for the house. I am so glad that I did, because a few days later she emailed me and said "how would you like to review Sticky Words Vinyl Lettering?" I was so excited!! I contacted LaVon Curtis, who told me I could pick out anything I wanted, SCORE! I searched through Sticky Words' website, and was a kid in a candy store! They offer so many choices I was a little overwhelmed at first. I had my husband sit down with me to help me decide what we wanted in the house, but he had a hard time too.

With over 15 categories to choose from, there is something for everyone. Next time a friend has a baby or buys a house, I am going to buy them something from Sticky Words Vinyl Lettering, they make the perfect gift, and you can guarantee that no one else will have bought it! I love the options they give you and their work is gorgeous!

After spending about a week combing through their amazing pieces of art, I landed on something that I thought would fit our home and lifestyle. I chose wording and while the images on the site are copyrighted, the art on my wall is directly from Sticky Words Vinyl Lettering.

We're Feeling Warm and Cozy Now!

I choose the phrase, Home is where our story begins, because it fits us so well. We are homebodies who love to curl up on the couch, pop some popcorn and watch a movie! It was the perfect fit for our home and I decided that the chocolate brown color would go well with the rustic feel of the stars. And putting the letters on the wall was a piece of cake. I do have textured walls, and the lettering is best suited for smooth walls, but it work just fine!

In process...

You place the lettering on your wall, making sure you get it in the right place because once it's on there, it's not coming off until you heat it up to take it down! Sticky Words Vinyl Lettering gives you a special smoothing tool to make sure that the image properly adheres to your wall. The tool makes short work of the process and it was kind of fun to scrape and push the image onto my wall. I had a rough day, so I took my aggression out on the wall! Although, I made sure I didn't scrape too hard making sure I didn't mess up the image. That would have made my day worse! After you have scraped it into the wall, peel back the paper slowly, making sure that the letters are on the wall. You may have a few spots that need a little extra help. I know I did!

      The finished product...
The finished product is amazing. It really warms up the house and makes me feel like we are on our way to really making this house our home! A few people that have been in the house have asked me where we got it, I proudly tell them Sticky Words Vinyl Lettering! I am so glad that I was given the opportunity to review this product, I am thoroughly pleased with it and I know I will be going back to them for images in the future. Sticky Words Vinyl Lettering has a customer for life! I can't wait to order my next image. Their work is of the utmost quality and you Will not be disappointed. I was greatly surprised because in my package when I received it, there was an extra Welcome image in there. It fit perfectly in with my decor and LaVon was nice enough to make it the same color as the other one! It's little touches like that, that keep people coming back! If you are in the market for Vinyl Words, or images, you can not pass up Sticky Words Vinyl Lettering. I encourage you to give them a try, I know you'll love them just as much as I do!

I would like to give a Big thank you to LaVon Curtis over at Sticky Words Vinyl Lettering for giving me the opportunity to review their products, and for allowing us to host a giveaway.

Andrea's Pacifier Clips and More

We all want to be unique in our own way, and what a better way than wearing something that hundreds of other people won't be. I love to have my kids stand out in a group of their peers because they have something a little bit different on.

One way I have accomplished this is by finding wonderful handmade items for them to wear. Now going about finding such items can be overwhelming and time consuming to find just the right thing, but there are a few different places to go to find thousands of different, quality pieces.

A recent search on Facebook landed me here, at a great page called Andrea's Pacifier Clips & More. Don't let the name fool you, yes she does have Pacifier Clips, but the More part-it is a ton of cool products for both boys and girls. I browsed through the page's photo and info section and realized there was also a website and even more fun for me--an ETSY shop! Now the Facebook page has some great promotions, giveaways, but even cooler-items that haven't made it to the website yet so you can be the first to order right from there! The website and ETSY store are great too, filled with photos, prices, and info on each product.

Andrea was great to work with, she was really excited to work with us at The Mommy Blog, and sent out her products right away. It did take a bit of time to get here, but only because it was coming all the way to Indiana from Canada. It was packaged very safely in a padded envelope and everything arrived intact. I was sent two great products to review, one for girls and one for boys.

-My First Product-

Now we love hair bows, barrettes, headbands, anything cute for Scarlett's hair. Although she is 2, she doesn't have the long, thick head of hair one would hope for. This can cause problems when we want to wear certain hair accessories. I usually have to attach her barrette to a headband to get it to stay, because of the thinness of her hair or readjust barrettes over and over again. This was certainly NOT the case with Andrea's Non-Slip Hair Clips. I was so surprised and happy with how well they stayed in Scarlett's hair for many hours without fail. They are adorable too! We were sent a pair of red fabric sparkle sequined flowers on a red and green alligator clip. These work well for now, but will be perfect come Christmastime with all the red and greens.

All of Andrea's Non Slip Hair Clips are fully lined and have 2 latex-free non slip inserts inside, this is apparently the magic trick for keeping them in Scarlett's hair. I wish all of our hair accessories had these, WOW! What a difference!

-My Second Product-
Adjustable Boy Tie

I have a 4 year old who has a bit of style, now it is all his own, but he pulls it off. One style he has embraced is the tie, he has 4 or 5 and asks for new ones every so often. He could not wait to get his new tie out of the packaging and get it around his neck. He likes to wear them to church, school, hanging out, it pretty much doesn't matter. He told me he had to have a "button shirt", which is what he calls anything with buttons on it, so we pulled out his plain white one so that the tie would stand out. I didn't have to adjust it much, it fit well under the collar of his shirt and did not choke him like some other ties we have tried. It is a great black and white "race car" pattern as Beckett described it.

The adjustable tie is made with a piece of elastic that can be used from newborn to school-age size, which is perfect. The fabric is polyester, and it is really soft and smooth. This tie has already quickly become the new favorite tie in Beckett's wardrobe.
A huge thanks to Andrea from Andrea's Pacifier Clips & More for providing us with great products to review and give away to our lucky readers!

Scentsy Solid Perfume Review and Giveaway

I've shared before how much I love yummy scents, and that includes perfumes. All through college, my sister and I were designer perfume girls (might still be if we could afford it!). I used my favorite fragrances very sparingly to see that they lasted as long as possible. I wore perfume all the time, and sometimes even wore two at a time, to layer fragrances. I might have even used perfume as a room freshener a time or two... may have even spritzed my bed linens! I love to smell good... who doesn't?

After I became pregnant, I stopped wearing perfume, because I didn't want it to trigger my sensitivity to certain scents. Once Balian was born, I longed to wear something that smelled like something other than spit-up, but because I was nursing, didn't dare spray anything on my body that might bother my baby. Now that Balian is almost a year old, I figure it's safe to wear light scents again, but I still don't want to use lotions or spray perfumes.

Scentsy's Fine Fragrance Collection

A couple of weeks ago, I received a very unique item to try out. Renee Holdren, a Superstar Consultant with Scentsy, sent me one of Scentsy's new Solid Perfumes. I've heard of solid perfume before, but never thought to try it for myself. And of course, I already know that I love the scents from Scentsy... but do I want to wear them? As it turns out, yes- I do want to wear them! The Scentsy Fine Fragrance Collection features solid perfumes, which work with your body chemistry to create a scent that is truly your own.

The Fine Fragrance Collection currently includes the following scents:

Enchanted Mist
Love Story
 My Wish
Satin Sheets
Simply Irresistable

Love Story Solid Perfume from Scentsy

Renee was very sweet to send me the Love Story Solid Perfume to try out. If you ask me, Love Story is a temptress scent! It's one of my favorite scents from Scentsy, so I knew it would make me smell great! Love Story is a blend of innocent pink jasmine and sensual amber, embraced my luscious dark chocolate. Mmm... some of my very favorite things all rolled into one fragrance! What I really love about the solids perfume from Scentsy is that you can control the power of the scent. Since you just remove the little cap and rub the scent on, you can put on a tiny touch, or you can add more as you wish.

The solid perfume is also extremely convenient for travel and every day use. Just toss the scent stick into your handbag or your travel bag, and you're good to go... no worrying about expensive perfumes leaking out into your bag (that's happened to me more times than I can count on two hands!). I also have a feeling that when creating these solid perfumes, Scentsy remembered that many people are sensitive to scents that women wear. So, if you tend to not wear scents because of the people around you, I'd say it's safe to wear a little dab of one of these yummy scents. The Fine Fragrance Collection really hits on a lot of women's favorite scents, and Satin Sheets even envelopes vanilla, which most men tend to love, as well. Now, if Scentsy could just add a scent in a perfume that combined vanilla and cinnamon, I think the guys would be all over that one... or the women who wear it (wink!).

All in all, I am thrilled that Scentsy decided to experiment with these new solid perfumes, and I can't wait to see which scents they might add to their Fine Fragrance Collection in the future! Well done, Scentsy... you've hooked this momma yet again! I'll also be thinking of these solid perfumes for Christmas gifts, and you should, too! These would make wonderful stocking stuffers! Renee would be happy to assist you with your Christmas shopping, or if you'd like to make your own Scentsy Christmas Wish List! Contact Renee today!

Daydream Believers

My husband and I have recently started daydreaming about a charming Victorian house built in 1900, which is for sale in our area. We dream about what it would be like to live in that house, and of course, my mind immediately jumps to what kind of decorating I could do in a home like that. We enjoy modern decor, but I have a very classic taste for decorating. The home has beautiful windows throughout... windows that I would never dream of hiding beneath blinds. Curtains could certainly work, and in some cases, would be a necessity for privacy, but where they're not required, how would I adorn my windows? I couldn't leave them bare, because that just isn't my thing. Windows should make a statement about the person who lives in the home where the windows become portals to private life and the outside world.

A great way to add a little pizazz to any room is to hang some window valances from or above your window. Window valances have certainly come a long way from those I remember having in our house when I was growing up. Nowadays, there are so many beautiful window valances available to match any decor style.

If and when my husband and I do find ourselves in a house where we can once again paint rooms the colors we love, we would return to a sage green either in the kitchen or dining room. I came across a window valance that I love, and I think could work in either space...

...Straight Pinch-Pleat Valance on Rings

My guest bedroom would be done in an almost Tiffany blue color, with black and white accents and linens. I love the combination of black and white in its simplicity and classic feel, however, a pop of color on the wall can add many depths to a simple idea. I would definitely want a soft and lovely, yet lush and rich-looking valance for my guests to enjoy. If I could choose any window valance in the world to use in that room, it would be this one...

...Austrian Shade as a Valance

I know that I have a baby boy, and I love him so very much! I have had a lot of fun decorating his nursery. When we're ready to have another baby, and if that baby happens to be a girl, I think I may want a girly nursery... filled with pretty, delicate frilly things that girls tend to like. I might go with pinks and greens, some touches of white here and there, as well. I already have the perfect window valances picked out, too, and they would work perfectly with soft sheers behind them...

...Tied London Valance

Maybe one day we will have our dream house, but until that day comes, there's nothing wrong with being a daydream believer. I might even be tempted to purchase some window valances to go with the colors the house we're living in now! Can't help myself... I love to decorate!

Weekend Wrap Up

Well, the weekend has come and gone much too quickly, once again. We enjoyed a night out on the town on Friday night, which consisted of driving to Mooresville, having dinner at Chilli's (2 for $20 is back!), heading over to Michaels to do a little birthday party shopping, and then to Target to pick up a gallon of milk, because Balian is- drinking real milk! Yay! Goodbye formula, hello whole milk... and our wallets are breathing again, too. Saturday was also a sort of shoppy day... we hung around the house until noon- had to cut hubby's hair, etc. Balian started eating Cheerios on Saturday, so that's new. We went to my sister-in-law and brother-in-law's new house. It's a beautiful home, in an excellent neighborhood. They have lots of room to grow! They also just got a new puppy, so we had to meet her. Her name is Jazzy, and she is just adorable! Balian has a new best friend. From there, we went to Party City for more party shopping. Actually, just bought some streamers. Went looking for balloons, but figured we'd wait until the day before the party- we'll just drive down there and get them already blown up and all that jazz. We also had to go to Wal-Mart, which never had what I'm looking for- no surprise there. Needed to go grocery shopping, but we held off and went to my mom and dad's house for a visit and for a yummy pork chop supper! Sunday was crazy, as they always are. Church from 8:30 to about noon, and then out to lunch, then to the grocery store. Headed home, and then Sacha went right back to church to attend an organ recital. He then came home, and I went back to church because I had Women's Ensemble rehearsal. Got home around 6:45 last night, had leftover quiche and salad for supper and then headed to bed. Thankfully, we had a pretty restful night.

So now it's Monday, and here I am with my morning coffee, checking FB, updating the blog, etc. Blogger is making some changes, so I'll have to get used to some new stuff on the admin. side of this. And speaking of changes- whoa, Facebook! Oh, well- I love how everyone moans about the Facebook changes. We don't pay for Facebook. They give us unlimited opportunities to network, share our businesses and build online communities, and all we do is complain when they make changes. Their folks have to get paid for doing something, right? Personally, I love Facebook and really appreciate the things they let me do. Our Mommy Blog community wouldn't be what it is without our Facebook page! Not to mention my business page, and the other pages I admin for my mom, husband and even my church! So- thanks Facebook, for helping people everywhere get connected one way or another.

I am still hard at work on stuff for Balian's Birthday Bash. The new tab for that will be popping up this week, as will tabs for Fall Features, Black Friday Frenzy and the 2011 Holiday Gift Guide. You'll be able to visit all of these tabs to sign up to participate in any or all of these events. There are only a couple of days left to sign up for the birthday bash, though- that one is getting really close! We have new giveaways to start this week, as well as new reviews to post, which I'm excited about. So, I hope you'll stay tuned, keep checking back with us... and I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Catching Up

It's really amazing how going out of town for just a couple of days throws the following week completely off! We headed to the beautiful state of Tennessee last weekend with my hubby's mom to visit my husband's grandparents on his father's side. It had been a few months since we last saw them, and this visit seemed long overdue. We were also able to take Balian to meet his Great Great Grandma Large on Sunday afternoon, which was very special. We couldn't really let her hold him, because he is mighty strong and we were afraid he'd break one of her bones if he kicked at her or something (I get kicked in the face daily- it hurts!). He sat and played at her feet, though, which was very sweet. Grannie will be 100 in January! She still lives by herself, completely unassisted! On Monday, we had breakfast with Grandaddy and Nana at their lovely apartment. Here are a few pictures from our visit...

 Balian plating with Nana Velma...

Me, looking at an old scrapbook with Grandaddy Ted
(it was his mother's high school memory book!)...

Grandaddy Ted, Sacha and Balian- The Witt boys...

We had a fantastic visit, and were able to take the scenic route home. We drove through the mountains, stopped off for a quick trot around Asheville, NC... had to go to the Chocolate Fetish and get some truffles, go to Malloprops (bookstore) and look around and grab a coffee. Balian had a blast playing in the children's section (they have a basket of toys out and little rugs). Hated to have to head home, but we didn't end up rolling back into Salisbury until close to midnight.

Wednesday was wonderful, because we went to church in Wednesday night and Sacha lead his instrumental group, while I was in my Alpha class. Thursday was crazy. I had a Premier Jewelry Show, so I spent the day baking and cleaning... all while trying to entertain Balian (not easy!). Had a great girls night, though! And so now it's Friday, and I need to catch up on a couple of reviews and get a giveaway or two posted for you all! I know you're excited about that, and you should be!

I hope to spend the weekend getting the rest of the things we need for Balian's birthday party- which is in two weeks! Next weekend will be shot- it's my 10 year high school reunion (gasp- 10 years already!) and we also have the wedding of a dear college friend to attend. Can't wait for a night out. It'll be the first time Balian spends the night away from me! Mixed feelings about that, for sure. So, I have to tie up loose birthday party ends this weekend and there's still much to be done!

I can't wait for Balian's party, and I really can't wait for all of the birthday bash reviews and giveaways to come to all of you. You are just going to love the items we're set to feature! The birthday bash begins October 10th- so be sure to check back here so you don't miss anything! I'm headed off now to get showered and dressed for the day, get the hubs off to work and get Balian up and ready to play! I love being a mom- best job ever!

Don't Forget the Boys This Christmas...

Believe it or not, I have already started thinking about what I might want to get my husband for Christmas this year. He is super hard to buy for sometimes, and as we get older I feel that practical gifts are more useful than just because gifts. He's been doing a lot of freelance home repair, and every time we go shopping, he mentions that he needs better work clothes and shoes. I never thought that he was dropping hints for Christmas, but why not think about things like that for Christmas gifts?

I hardly ever go shopping without my husband, so shopping online has become the way to go when it comes to Christmas and birthdays! It's easier to be a little more sneaky when I can buy from an online store and have it shipped right to my door. I started my search for some men's boots recently, and happened upon a site I have really come to like for their excellent selection and their prices. is the best site I've come across while searching for boots for my sweetie. He has some Timberland boots he loves, but I know he doesn't want to be wearing them specifically for work- they're more for hiking. He wears old tennis shoes for work, and every day, he comes home, complaining about how much his feet hurt. So, my mission is to find some affordable, comfortable work boots for the man. has all of the brands my husband loves: LL Bean, Timberland, Wolverine, Columbia, etc. My problem will be picking just one pair! Maybe you can help me decide which to choose?

Timberland Work Boots...

La Sportiva Backpacker Boots...

Maybe I'll just skip the work boots idea and get him some every day boots. Having a hard time deciding, because as I look around, I see lots of boots I know my hubby will love! He's not much of a sandals man, he prefers to keep those feet covered up by a stylish boot. Look what else I found on

Keen Gypsum...

Teva Riva...

Daska Pass...

And of course, I am always after my husband to buy a dressy boot that he can wear with jeans or something, but he isn't too keen on the idea. I just love it when guys wear that look- don't quite know why. Maybe if I could show him some of the beautiful boots I found on, he'd change his mind! Here's hoping!

Stacy Adams...

LL Bean...

With so many wonderful boots to choose from at prices that can't be beat, I may be mulling over these boots for a few weeks yet. That's okay, I'll keep in mind all year long! A Green Wardrobe Review and Giveaway

*Please click the title of this post to enter the giveaway*

For the past couple of years, my husband and I have been trying to make good choices about the things we bring into our home. We have made an effort to recycle as much as possible, use green cleaning products, take our own shopping bags to the store with us, etc. We re-purpose items when we can, pass things on instead of throwing them away and even try to influence those around us. As much as I think about being green, it never even crossed my mind to take a look at fashion and the things hanging around in my closet. What are all of those articles made of, and where did they come from? Why does it even matter?

I recently came across one of the coolest sites I have ever stumbled upon. A Green Wardrobe is a company offering an online boutique filled with all organic clothes and accessories. I never knew such a place existed! A Green Wardrobe features designers who are making a conscious effort to support a green and ethical planet, while providing the world with functional fashion. A Green Wardrobe features global designers, and have brought many designer fashions to the US. Each piece of fashion carried by A Green Wardrobe is made from organic, sustainable, recycled and re-purposed materials. As consumers, we really don't know the effect the clothing industry has on us- but it's huge! A Green Wardrobe believes that 'a little bit of green can go a long way.'

I was given the opportunity to select a piece of clothing from A Green Wardrobe, and boy- did I have a hard time choosing something! From dresses to lingerie and accessories, A Green Wardrobe has everything you need to convert your wardrobe into an environmentally friendly and globally responsible collection that you can be proud of.

I chose to review the Juleselin Jenny Dress in Pewter, and I am ever so happy with my decision. When Tara from A Green Wardrobe wrote to me, letting me know that the dress way on its way, I couldn't wait for it to arrive! The dress looks so much better in person than it does online- which is amazing, because it looked gorgeous on the website! When the Juleselin Jenny Dress made it safely to my house, I unwrapped it and laid it out on the table so I could examine it.

The Juleselin Jenny Dress...

I couldn't wait to try the dress on! I waited until a Sunday to wear it to our contemporary service at church. Dress for that service is casual, so I like to be able to dress casually, but not too casually, because I lead worship by singing and am in front of the assembly for the duration of the service. So, Sunday seemed like the perfect day to try out my new dress from AGW. The first thing I noticed was how soft it felt, and rightfully so, since the dress is made of 93% organic cotton and 7% spandex. Nothing wrong with a little spandex, if you ask me! The cotton was nice and thick, though. I honestly expected to have to wear a slip dress underneath, because the way most dresses are made these days (sheer and tissue thin), you definitely need a layer that covers you! I was thrilled that I didn't need to add an extra layer underneath the dress and that nothing was showing that I didn't want to show.

The Jenny Dress is extremely versatile. The way it's designed, you can wear it several different ways, which is one of the many reasons why I love this dress. If I wanted to be a little bit dressy during the summer, I would wear the dress like this- paired with a nice pair of peep-toe slingbacks. Perfect for dinner out, a nice party, and maybe even to church, if you're brave enough to show that much leg! The puffed ruched  neckline is so unique, and classic-looking to me. I think Coco Chanel would approve. The elastic waistline is flattering and forgiving. I was a little worried about the side seam pockets, only because they don't always flatter those with hips (like me!). Much to my surprise, they didn't appear to make me look hippy, and I oh, so love pockets! These pockets work well with the dress, so don't let them deter you from choosing the Jenny Dress!

Summertime style...

Another way to wear the Juleselin Jenny Dress is to pair it with leggings and flats. This is the way I chose to wear it on Sunday morning. The leggings offered forgiveness for my bending over to pick Balian up, etc. I will be rocking this style all through the fall season!

Fall into fabulous fall fashion with the Juleselin Jenny Dress...

And of course, I like to plan ahead, so I wanted to be sure I had the right look down for the winter months, as well. I traded my flats for my boots and the leggings for tights. I forgot to throw on a cardigan, but that's what I'd normally do for the cooler months.

Loving this wonderful wintry look...

When I was done playing dress up, I remembered my winter hat, and just for giggles, had my husband snap a picture to see what the dress would look like paired with some accessories!

Mix and match... change it up!

It's no wonder that this dress was recently featured in Lucky Magazine as one of the top cutest dresses of the season! I say that this a a dress for all seasons. I need to be a little more adventurous and play around with thigh high tights, scarves and color! I'll get there, but I need to be in a bold mood. For those of you who love to put your own stamp on an outfit, this is a must have key piece! Start with the Juleselin Jenny Dress and let your imagination run wild!

And don't just stop with the Jenny Dress! A Green Wardrobe has so many beautiful offerings on their website. I encourage you to take a look around and browse the fashions for men, women and children. I just know that you will be delighted and pleasantly surprised by what you find.

Personally, I'd love to add this to my Green Wardrobe collection next...

And I love vests on guys! Wish my husband would wear this...

And if Balian were a big boy, he could wear this adorable boy's tank...

Don't forget a cute scarf for fall!

In all seriousness, if you'd like to start being a bit more fashionably responsible and would like to look into purchasing organic clothing, please let A Green Wardrobe be your first stop. You won't be sorry you took the time to read up on the featured designers and why they choose to make their beautiful clothes and accessories the way they do.
