There aren't many women I know who don't love chocolate... I am certainly one of those who needs chocolate! Any taste of chocolate will do in a chocolate emergency: a solid piece of chocolate, a cupcake, lick of frosting, a brownie, even chocolate milk does the trick for my chocolate cravings every now and then. Chocolate is everywhere- in our homes, on the store shelves, tempting us at the coffee shops, in sauces, smeared all over little faces and in our tummies! These days, chocolate even gets its very own party!
Have you heard of Dove Chocolate Discoveries? I had only just heard it mentioned on Facebook a couple of times, and I thought that it was just a company who sold chocolates. I was so very mistaken, friends! DCD is a direct sales company specializing in many types of chocolate offerings! When Janette Bennett, a rep with DCD contacted me regarding a DCD review, I of course, jumped out of my seat at the chance to try some chocolates from them!
My sweet little goodies from DCD...
Janette was kind enough to send me my own little package of goodies from DCD. When my package arrived, I could smell the chocolate through the packaging. My mouth was watering before I even knew what awaited my taste buds! I was excited to see that Janette chose to send me two of the DCD drink mixes and a package of Cinnamon Dusted Chocolate Covered Almonds. The drink mixes she sent were Vanilla Chai Tea and Pear Flavored Cider: White Chocolate. Is your mouth watering yet?
DCD Milk Chocolate Cinnamon Dusted Almonds...
Let me start with the almonds. I love chocolate. I love almonds. I do not love cinnamon. When I saw that the almonds were chocolate covered, I was excited. When I saw that they were dusted in cinnamon, I was almost already deciding that I probably wouldn't like them before I even tasted one. I love the way cinnamon smells, but the taste of cinnamon and be really overpowering and it's a spice I only like a tiny little bit of. I knew I needed to try the almonds and to give you my honest opinion about them, so I went for it, dove right in and braved those almonds. My taste buds were immediately tingling- delighted by the dance of the swimming milk chocolate being chased by the cinnamon dust. I was so surprised that not only did I think the combination of flavors was just okay, I was in love! The cinnamon dust cuts the chocolate in a beautiful way, and the added crunch of the fresh almonds satisfies mouth and the tummy! I was instantly hooked on this yummy treat, and so was my husband. He came home and saw the package and just tore into them. They didn't last long in our home. These almonds can be purchased in milk or dark chocolate.
I am absolutely a hot beverage girl. I don't care if it's 100 degrees outside... I can drink a hot beverage any time of day, any time of year. When the weather turns cool, I want warm beverages all day long! Sure, I get my coffee fix in the mornings, but I usually need a warm beverage in hand by late afternoon. DCD has an amazing selection of (you guessed it) chocolate beverages- warm and cold!
DCD Chair Tea Mix
The first beverage I tried from DCD was the Vanilla Chai Tea mix.I love chai tea, and the vanilla flavoring made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Vanilla is one of those flavors that just sort of makes me feel at home. The chai tea was in an individual single serve pack, and was very easy to make. I just poured the mix into my favorite mug (from Starbucks!), added hot water from my tea kettle, stirred it for a minute, and voila- instant vanilla chai tea, which was so delicious- it absolutely left me wanting more.
There are even recipes featured on Janette's DCD website for many of the DCD products. There was a sticker on my chair tea pack that had instructions for using the tea mix to make a sweet dip! Mmm... good to know that these mixes are so versatile! You really get your bang for your buck with these mixes!

Last, but not least, I tried the yummy White Chocolate Pear-Flavored Cider that is new to DCD this season. The whole concept of chocolate cider threw me for a loop. This is the most interesting, non-traditional cider I have ever tried. Normally, when I think of cider, I think of apples and cinnamon. This beverage mix is really, truly a pear cider (and I love pears!), mixed with the taste of white chocolate. I don't normally like white chocolate, but it just melts into the pear cider, making the entire beverage a beautiful blend. This is the perfect fall beverage. As soon as I took my first sip, I closed my eyes and immediately saw falling leaves, families gathering to share stories and good food, etc. I would definitely recommend serving this cider at your fall gatherings. I enjoyed the cider so much that I decided to pour the rest of the almonds into a little dish and enjoy the two of them together! What a delightful afternoon that was! Add the mix and hot water together in your favorite mug to enjoy this special treat. You could even add a cinnamon stick or a splash of rum to make it extra enjoyable!
