Let's Get Moving #MondayMotivation

Happy Monday! I have to be honest, lately, I have not been the best motivator. I can hardly motivate myself to do much of anything. I haven't been feeling all that well, and find myself crashing, rather than going, going, going. I have fallen off my exercise wagon, and I need to jump back on in the worst way. Maybe you're there, too?

School starts next week, which means this week will be filled with the usual work, meetings, extra stuff, doctor's appt's., hair cuts, school supply shopping, parent orientation, and open houses. Yikes! I wish I had an energy button that I could press to keep me moving! One of the best ways I know to keep moving, is to actually get moving. Making time to exercise is not only important for one's physical and mental health, it increases your energy, releases endorphins, and will make you feel better, overall.

Here are some great ways to get moving...

Take a walk.
Play tag with your kids.
Turn on some music and have a dance party.
Clean the house.
Do some yard work.
Go for a run or jog.
Ride a bike.
Go on a hike.
Go to the YMCA or gym.
Start a neighborhood walking group.
Do some yoga.
Take a cardio work out class.
Try Zumba.

I'm going to do my best to get moving again- consistently. and get back to that daily routine of working out. Won't you join me? We'll all be better off, because of it.

I hope you have a marvelous Monday!

Weekends with the Wigglesworths- Off to a Good Start

Well, it's Saturday and we made it through the first 3 days (school started on Wednesday) of the 2015-2016 school year! Drew is excited about her teacher and the fact that some of her classmates from last year are in her class again this year. Reese is missing her sister, but she's also enjoying having my attention to herself and being able to have free reign over the remote when it's time to relax a bit in the early afternoon.

Now that today is Saturday, we'll be heading to Drew's soccer practice and then to pick up some more school supplies to have on hand for the year. I'm also hoping to stop by Dunkin' Donuts at some point to FINALLY grab my first cup of pumpkin coffee for the season!

Our Soccer Star and Her Number 1 Cheerleader!

Since this weekend is bound to fly by, we don't have too many extraordinary plans. Thankfully, next weekend will be a little longer, because of Labor Day, so maybe we'll be able to squeeze in some extra fun then.

What are your plans for the weekend? I enjoy catching up with you, so be sure to leave a comment!

It's an Endless Summer with Seaturtle Sports Gear & Games + #Giveaway

Thank you to Seaturtle sports for providing me with wonderful products to facilitate this review. All thoughts and opinions shared are my own.

We heart summer, and don't want it to end! We're holding onto these last few weeks of summer, before school starts. Lucky for us, we'll still have plenty of warm weather weeks ahead here in the south. As the summer winds down and we look toward fall, we're becoming even more active, and spending even more time outside. We love playing outdoor games and sports, going on hikes and picnics, grilling outdoors, and even eating outside at some of our favorite local restaurants.

Seaturtle Sports is helping our family hold onto summer, and prompting us to get out and play! The idea for Seaturtle Sports got its start back in 2002, after the horrific 9/11 attacks, and the dot-com bubble burst. After playing Bocce Ball on the beach in Grayton Beach, Florida, Allen and Jeanne's sons were hooked. It was a welcomed change from the usual screen time the boys were used to enjoying. The family received their first Bocce set in 2005, just in time for Hurricane Katrina to barrel through the NOLA area, forcing the family to relocate. In 2006, Seaturtle Sports finally got off the ground with their first game sale, and they've never looked back!

Seaturtle Sports pushed to develop more innovative, high-quality games that would bring family and friends together to unwind, socialize, and make lifelong memories.

We were excited to receive a special summer package of goodies from our friends at Seaturtle Sports!

Our fun package from Seaturtle Sports included a Men's Polo Shirt, T-shirt, and two sand spikes. This was a wonderful package for us to receive, as there was something included for everyone! We love the beach, and while we've already had our three beach trips this year (yes, three!), we're already looking forward to the trips to come in 2016! When we head to the beach, we love a relaxed, casual style, and we tend to carry that over once we're back home.

I received a cute Weekends Forever T-Shirt with the Seaturtle logo on the front and back!

Check out the fun design on the back of the tee- I love it!

I don't own a lot of t-shirts, which is sort of a shame, because after I wore this tee, I realized that I am definitely missing out on weekend comfort! The tee is fitted, yet relaxed, which is a wonderful style for me. It's the perfect shirt to wear out on a walk through the neighborhood, for a night out downtown, for working in the yard, or relaxing on the front porch!

I felt super relaxed in my new tee from Seaturtle Sports!

One of my favorite spots at home... out on the porch!

Neon Red Orange

Preshrunk, soft-washed, garment-dyed fabric

Double-needle stitched sleeves and bottom hem
Taped shoulder-to-shoulder

For the hubs...

My lucky duck hubby received a handsome Polo Shirt from Seaturtle Sports!

The polo is a violet dusk (light purple) color, and includes an embroidered orange Seaturtle.

Sacha is extremely picky when it comes to his clothing. He has a taste for nice polo shirts, and they have to be of a certain look and feel in order for him to want to pay for it, and wear it. He was so pleased with the Polo from Seaturtle Sports! He loved the color, and loved the thickness and crispness of the cotton. He's been proud to wear this polo out and about more than once already, and will wear it many more times to come!

Sacha, enjoying an evening out on the town, wearing his Seaturtle Sports Polo.

Crisper than summertime sugar cane, these polos look sharp and won’t hinder your bocce toss follow through. Men’s sizes (S, M, L, XL) come in 4 colors: Sea Glass (light green), Violent Dusk (light purple), Coral Dawn (light red), and Aqua Mist (blue-green).

Features include:

100% cotton-pique
SeaTurtle Sports emblem embroidery on chest
Rib knit collar and cuffs
2-button placket
Double-needle stitched
Hemmed bottom with longer length split tail

Care Instructions:

Machine wash warm
Tumble dry medium

For the family...

We also received these fantastic Sand Spikes/Beverage Holders- one in green, and one in blue!

We always take drinks out onto the beach with us, and we're not afraid to sit on a towel over the sand. We have a four-year-old, who loves to play in the sand, so we're always right there with him... gettin' gritty. We try so hard to keep the drinks out of the sand, but when little ones are around, it's pretty much inevitable that they'll wind up covered in sand... which leads to sand in the mouth. Yuck! The beverage spikes from Seaturtle Sports are sturdy, thick, and provide protection for your drink from the sand.

The beverage spike fits perfectly into the drink holder on my favorite beach chair- which keeps condensation from dripping onto the wood!

I love the beverage spikes from Seaturtle, and can't wait to take them along on our next beach trip! I will look forward to having a sand-free water bottle on our next trip! I think these especially, would make really fun gifts for newlyweds, young couples, or for anyone who loves the beach! I have friends getting married this year, and I would love to gift them a set of these, along with a couple of fun beach games from Seaturle!

Spiker Beverage Holder

You are surrounded by sand.  And you love it, except when it creeps into a perfectly good drink, or worse, your cell phone.  We’ve taken care of that with our Spiker beverage holder.  It will keep your drinks cooler, and spill-free, and your keys, sunglasses, sunscreen or cell phone sand-free.

Take it to the beach, tailgating or to any outdoor event. Spiker is the perfect companion to your SeaTurtle Sports games.

Features include:

8" tall x 4" diameter
Heavy-duty molded plastic
Weighs only 5 ounces and it fits easily into a beach bag
Made in America

Fitness Friday: Mommy & Me in the Water

As a mom of a little man who is always on the go and doesn't do a lot of sleeping on his own, I find it really hard to find time for my own exercise. Don't get me wrong, I'm not missing it or anything, but I know I should be doing a little extra to burn those last couple of baby pounds. I also don't love the hot weather, so exercising outside is out of the question during the summer.

Recently I realized I could actually turn one of our favorite playtimes into a little calorie burn for myself. Mr. G absolutely loves the water! We've been going to swim lessons since he was about 8 months old, and he relishes any opportunity to splash or play.

Our new neighborhood has a really nice pool, which actually makes it comfortable to be exercising outside in NC in the summer. Since he can't swim on his own, he makes the perfect weight for doing a few arm presses (bonus: he loves going up and down in and out of the water). And I can "aquajog" him across the pool while he floats on a raft, backfloats, or kicks on his own.

And then we get to relax in the shade, poolside, both ready for an afternoon nap. It's a win for everyone!

Spread Some Sunshine in Lotus Boutique Fashions

Do you love summer style? If so, you'll love the hot summer styles from Lotus Boutique! I have been spoiled rotten by the fabulous team from Lotus, and they have sent me a bevy of beautiful summer pieces. Many of them are fantastic transition pieces, and others are just gorgeous for enjoying these last warm days of summer in the south!

Lotus Boutique

Lotus Boutique began its journey back in 1995, with its first brick and mortar store. Today, Lotus Boutique has eight physical stores (in Georgia, Florida, and Alabama), and operates a thriving online boutique, as well. Lotus offers beautiful, affordable apparel and accessories for women, and serves many style niches-from preppy to boho! Lotus has been flooding the southeast with their affordable style for over a decade, and it's not hard to see why they're thriving, after visiting their online boutique, and taking a look around!

I received so many gorgeous fashion pieces from Lotus Boutique, and have been having a hard time deciding which ones to wear first! I fell in love with the sunny yellow design of this next dress, and just couldn't wait to dress it up and show it off!

How I wore it:
Dress- Printed for Perfection Dress, Lotus Boutique
Sandals- Tidewater
Necklace- Apt. 9
Earrings- Local Boutique
Sunglasses- Oscar de la Renta

I love this dress so much! I went with the size medium, because the sizing on the Lotus website said that the size Small (which is the size I normally wear) fits a 0-2. I fall between a 2-4, so I chose to go with the medium size, which fits a 4-6. The dress was a little loose, but to me, it just made it look and feel a bit more flowy. I love the yellow, blue, and white color combination in this dress, and love the butterfly sleeves, which tie at the bottom. I have had a blue beaded necklace and nothing to wear it with for a long time- this dress was the perfect match!

I received many compliments on this dress- it's so cheery! It's a wonderful piece to have as we look toward fall. I think it would also look adorable styled with booties and a denim jacket. I definitely plan on wearing this dress again before the season ends! One of the other things that I love, aside from the design, is that I can move around with ease in this dress. The length is appropriate (not too short), and the fabric is semi-lined, which is always fabulous in my book! This will be one of the first pieces I reach for when spring 2016 rolls around!

How Much Are You Worth? The Importance of Workers' Compensation

Image result for injured on the job

Have you ever wondered just how much you're worth (yes, you!), and weighed the risks of being injured while on the job? In 2010, the US Department of labor reported 3.1 million non-fatal workplace injuries. Along with injuries in the workplace, comes sickness and health concerns. Industries with the highest injury rates included:

Health care and Social assistance
Transportation and Warehousing
Arts, Entertainment, Recreation
Agriculture, Forestry, Hunting and Fishing

There are even certain health and injury risks with your day to day jobs- teaching, office administration, law enforcement, public safety,  construction, etc. You never really know when an accident might occur, and they can happen any time. If you're accident prone, you may even take extra precautions to protect yourself from harm in the workplace.

A particularly risky work environment is construction or home renovation. When working on ladders or scaffolding, there is always a risk that one may move the wrong way and fall. Roofing houses is very risky, as there is always a risk of slipping and falling off the roof, or scraping your skin on the shingles, resulting in a burn-like scar. Working with tools, electric or manual poses a big risk, as does working with nails, staples, chemicals, etc.

Image result for hurt wrist at work

Not all workplace injuries are the result of large accidents. Sitting at a desk day after day for years on end can result in joint or muscle problems. Working at the computer daily can lead to Carpel Tunnel, which often times must be corrected with surgery.

Taking the proper precautions when on the job is of utmost importance. Wearing protective masks, coveralls, protective eye wear can save the skin, crucial organs and more from serious injury. Knowing your rights when it comes to injury claims is also important.

Did you know...

Your body is worth over 2 million dollars! The scalp alone has a Black Market Value of $607.00. Just one hand per person in the US is worth over $144,000.00! Care to guess how much a pinky finger is worth in the US? Over $11,000.00! Arms are worth over $300,000.00, and feet are worth over $180,000! When you add up all of the bones, organs, etc of the human body, the total worth rings in at a whopping $2,651,897! Wow!

You're more valuable that you realize, and keeping safe while at work is so important. Occasionally, accidents do happen, and if/when they do, be sure you know your rights regarding workers' compensation, and don't hesitate to look into filing a claim if you need to!

Stay safe!
