Baby Magic Review

I don't know about you mommas, but when it comes to diapering, it's a challenge! As babies get older, they wiggle around a whole lot more and well- that just makes diapering kind of difficult. If you have a baby like mine, diaper time is both crazy time and fussy time. Balian loves to have his diaper off- and as soon as it comes off, he literally goes crazy pumping his little arms and legs and running his motor-boat. And then, as soon as it's time for the new diaper to go on, he starts screaming. Sigh- such is life for moms of little babes.

I need diaper changing time to be as quick and painless as possible, so when I came across a new product for diaper time, I was thrilled! Have you heard of Baby Magic? Maybe you've tried some of their products like their baby wash, lotion, etc? Well, now they have a brand new product, and it's going on my Mommy Must-Haves list!

Meet the all-new Baby Magic Patty Cake Dustless Baby Powder! This powder comes in a sleek compact, with cotton pads. You simply rub (gently) the cotton pad over the powder, and apply to the areas that need powder on your little babe! It's waste-free, moisturizing and safe for your little one's baby lungs! Baby Magic has released the first ever patented pressed baby powder, and every mom is going to want to have this in her diaper bag! It's so easy to use and easy to tote along with you. Plus, opening and closing the compact can serve as entertainment, if you are in a pinch and need something to distract your little one for a few seconds!

I was trilled to learn that Baby Magic was sending me the new Patty Cale Dustless Baby Powder to try out with Balian! We started using it the very day we received it, and I just love it! Truly, there is no mess- no powder poofing out into the air, spilling out all over my duvet cover (because, let's face it- diaper changes rarely happen at the changing table), and no worrying about closing the powder cap before I toss it back into the diaper tote. The compact fits into my purse or travel changing pad very well- it's definitely come in handy while we've been on vacation this week! It's not harsh or irritating to Balian's sensitive skin, so I feel safe using it on him. This product gets my seal of approval, and I encourage you to give it a try with your baby (you'll be glad you did!) or to include it in a gift set when you're giving baby gifts (moms will thank you for it!).

To give Baby Magic a try, visit one of several retailers who carry Baby Magic products. You'll be so glad you did! Have you tried Baby Magic before? Leave us a comment and tell us about your experience with them!

*The product provided for the review was sent to me free of charge from the company.

These Are Days to Remember...

Hey everyone! I realize that it's been a couple of days since my last post. I'd say I'm sorry- but I'm on vacation, so I don't feel too badly about taking a wee break from the blogging world. We're having a great time here at the beach- Oak Island, NC, to be exact. The beach was pretty empty a few days ago, but now that the holiday weekend is here, there are many more people joining together on the island for some fun in the sun!

First experience in the water at the beach...

 Fun with mommy...

We've been up since about 6:30 this morning. Just because it's a vacation for the adults, that doesn't mean that Balian knows that we're all supposed to SLEEP IN! That's okay- we sat out on the porch and had coffee, went for a walk (w/Balian in the Bjorn... BIG mistake!), had breakfast, and now little man is asleep on my lap as I write this, and we'll soon be headed out to the beach for some play time. Balian is enjoying playing in the sand, and getting used to the water. There have been a lot of jelly fish both in the water and washing up on the shore, so we're having to be extra careful. And just a couple of days ago, B and I were sitting in the shallow water, playing, and who decided to come and join us but a crab!? Oh, the fun!

 Crabby friend...

Balian's Uncle Matt bought him a little baby swimmy pool, so we'll take that with us today, and Balian can safely splash his little heart out. No one is sun burned, thank goodness. I hate how I look in my bathing suit, but I guess it could be a lot worse. I needed to have gotten a tankini, but just didn't have the time to go hunting for one before we headed down here. I'm hoping to hit the outlet mall before we leave this place, but who knows... we're just kind of doing whatever, whenever. One thing is for sure, though- having a baby at the beach is a lot of hard work- but well worth it for these precious first moments!

 Wish you were here!

Ooo- he just woke up! So, that's it- we're headed out to the ocean for some sun and fun! We'll catch you all later. Hope everyone is and continues to have a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend!

The Mommy Blog Welcomes Brittany B!

Oh My Goodness, I am so excited, aren’t you? Well if you aren’t, then get ready to be!
I’m Brittany and I am the newest contributor for The Mommy Blog. I am not a Mom yet, However; I am a housewife and I love every bit of it. Want to know more about me? Well, here we go...

Like I said, My name is Brittany and I live in Coweta, OK  with my husband Cory, and our adorable, sometimes mean and smelly dog Buddy. I’m almost 25, which my father likes to joke that I am an old lady, a quarter of a century, but I am proud of it and can’t wait to tackle what life brings me. Cory and I just purchased our first home on May 16th, 2011. We have been in the house almost a full week now and are really enjoying it. I’ll let’cha  know more about our adventures later, they are funny and exhausting as I’m sure many of you know what it’s like to go through the home buying process. Back to us, Cory works for an Aerospace company building the wings for the G650 jet, yes people that is the jet that costs $65 million. I wish we got a fraction of that money, but the job is good, so I can’t complain! As for me,  I am a housewife and I sell AVON, Love it!!  Money, however can get tight in this household and I am always on the hunt for good deals, great coupons, or products for our house hold to save us time and money.

I hope to post reviews of household products, to keep you informed of the best, cheapest, safest products for you and your family. Along with the reviews, I hope to host giveaways so you can try out some of the great products for your family. I am so excited to be a part of The Mommy Blog family and hope you are excited too! Keep an eye out for my adventures in home buying. Hopefully you can laugh at our adventures and trials in learning the home ownership ropes!
Stay tuned...

My Stages of Beauty Review and Giveaway

I never thought that in my 20's, I would need to start paying some serious attention to my skin. In my younger days, I never would have thought twice about being out in the dun for hours- without enough sunscreen on, and certainly didn't worry about pollutants and free radicals. There are so many things we can do to keep our skin healthy, no matter our age: keep it clean, drink lot's of water, let it breathe, protect it from the sun, and use an Anti-Aging product. I know what you're going to say... there are SO MANY anti-aging products on the market. And yes, you're right- there are! How do you know what kind of product you need to use? Well, it's really very simple!

Let me introduce you to My Stages of Beauty!
My Stages of Beauty is a very unique skincare company, which has formulated their products to meet the needs of women at every stage of their lives. That's right! There is a separate line for women in their 20's, 30's, 40's and 50+. Since different things happen to our skin at different points in our lives, these products are specifically geared to target the areas that need attention.

I'm in my late 20's, so I was sent the Radiance Treatment Cream to try. Now, I'll be honest... I've used several different anti-aging products already, and have never noticed a big difference with any of them. When I received the Radiance Treatment Cream, I was pleasantly surprised how nicely it was packaged. It arrived in a nice box, laying on a bed of white shredded paper bits and there were two little paper monarch butterflies adorning the package. I was ready to try it later that same evening. After removing my make up and washing my face, I followed the directions, pumped 3-4 pumps of the treatment cream, and applied it gently to my skin. At first, I didn't notice anything, but then as I began to crawl into bed, I noticed my skin beginning to tingle a bit. Now, I really mean it just tingled- no burning or anything like that. My skin felt tight and smooth, and I didn't have any adverse reactions to the formula (as I often do with anti-aging products). I continued using the Radiance Treatment Cream each evening for about two weeks, and I can honestly say that I notice a difference in my skin's appearance. It looks firmer, and brighter, and for a busy mom who doesn't have time to mess around with a complicated skin routine, I couldn't be happier with the results! I am one happy momma, and will look to My Stages of Beauty through the decades for my skincare needs!

Like it? WIN IT!
Our friends at My Stages of Beauty will be giving away a Treatment Cream, made to fit the winner's skincare needs! Not one, but TWO lucky winners will receive the treatment cream designed for their age!

Please fill out the google docs entry form below to enter.  Please do not leave entries in the comment section.  Please leave a comment after submitting to let me know if you like the new entry form!

Ready to hit the road

Hey everybody! I have been running around all day trying to tie up loose ends and get packed and ready for our beach trip! We're leaving tomorrow morning (well, Balian and I are going down with my parents tomorrow, and then Sacha and 'Uncle Matt' will join us on Thursday), and are super excited. Pray for me, though- Balian in the car for four hours will be interesting. He sleeps much less now than he did when we last made this trip in December!

 See you soon, everyone!

I'll still be posting while on vacation, when I can. I'll be posting a new product review and giveaway tomorrow, so get excited! It's one you're going to like a lot! Don't forget to enter the Thirty-One Giveaway and the Stella and Dot Giveaway- just a couple of days left on those!

Hope you all have a great night!

Me, lately...

I have a moment to myself to breathe! My hubby is ripping out a friend's deck tonight, and Balian's Grandma Gretchen (my M-I-L) took Balian over to her house to play for a couple of hours. Aside from the kids across the street yelling and throwing their football into my front yard and trampling my flowers, all is quiet in the Witt house.

I had a pretty productive day... taking care of lot's of Mommy Blog business, the little man, getting a couple of good walks in, lunch with my dad, and even working on a new writing project for a while. I was told not to do any housework while Balian is out of the house, but I am thinking that I'd better go wash the dishes, and fold that pesky load of laundry still sitting in the dryer.

Just a warning- you may start noticing some changes on the blog soon... good ones. I may move some things around, and The Mommy Blog team is expanding, but I'll share more about that later! :)

I promised that I'd share a few photos, so here we go...

 Flowers from my mom's garden...

Balian- fell asleep while eating lunch yesterday!

Me, Sacha and Balian at Thomas and Rachel's wedding

I hope you've all had a great day, and have a wonderful Thursday night! Catch you all tomorrow!

Wednesday, May 18, 2011

Well, It's Wednesday... Again

Hey there my mommas and friends! Another Wednesday has come and gone, and let me tell you- I am exhausted! Whoever thinks that being a stay at home mom isn't a full time job needs to have their head examined. Being a mom is a 24/7 job! It's hard work! My day starts around 6:30 am- that's usually when I roll out of bed, grab a cup of coffee and sit down to respond to e-mail, work on the blog, update Facebook, post new pictures, etc. Depending on how he slept, Balian wakes, and then it's non-stop with him all day long- feeding (big boy food!), nursing, playing, practicing crawling (yes- Balian started crawling this week!!!), more playing, watching Classical Baby together, brief naps, going for walks, more playing, more feeding, chores, chores, chores, bathing, diaper changes, cooking, and I could go on all day. And the best part is- I get paid in smiles, laughter, 'ma-ma's,' and cuddles. I'm so very blessed.

I hope you all had a wonderful Wednesday. Wednesdays are always extra long days, because Sacha is only home for a couple of hours from work before he has to head back out the door for choir rehearsal. It's nice to have help with Balian in the evenings. Here's a spot of good news... my sister and brother-in-law just bought their first house! I am so excited for them!! Now I just need to get my butt out to OK to visit them... and there's a whole house that needs decorating! :) Plus, Balian misses his Aunt Britt and would love to meet his Uncle Cory. Soon..!

We're gearing up for Balian's first real trip to the beach! Yes- we went to the beach after Christmas, as we do every year, but this time he'll actually get to go out on the beach, put his little feeties in the water, and so on. I can't wait!

Thanks for being a follower. You know, I love writing, and my main purpose of having this blog will always be about sharing our lives with you. I do enjoy reviewing the products I've received, and hosting giveaways for all of you, too. I'm new at it- so bear with me. I just feel that moms always share the best products with each other- so that's what I want to do... share about amazing products for moms, babies, kids and the home- products you can trust are safe for your family. Also, I love being able to support small businesses, and consultants, so thanks for showing them some love!

I've got new pics to post, so I may try to do that tomorrow. Can't do much more tonight- my eyeballs feel like they're about ready to fall out! :) Everyone get to bed, get some good rest, and I'll (hopefully) see you here tomorrow!

Welcome Wednesday!

Looking forward to 'meeting' some new folks here today! Please leave your blog hop comments on this post, and be sure to link to your blog so I can follow you back! While you're here, take a look at the giveaways I've got going on right now, and enter them!

Well, It's Wednesday...

So, here we are... another Wednesday. I, like most of you, look forward to Wednesdays, because it means that it's just that much closer to the weekend. And in just two short weeks, our family will be headed to the beach for vacation! It'll be Balian's first real beach trip. We went to the beach the week after Christmas- we do every year, but now he'll really be able to play and touch the water. We're very excited about the impending adventure!

I had a nice Mother's Day. It was my very first one, in fact. My wonderful husband surprised me by taking me out on a date to my favorite local restaurant  (Mambo Grill and Tapas) on Saturday night. We had a great time. On Mother's Day, we spent the morning at church (from 8:15 to about 12:30), like we do most every Sunday. We go to both our contemporary and traditional worship services. After church, our combined families went out for lunch. I always enjoy it when both my family and Sacha's family get together for a meal- we always have a wonderful time. The afternoon was spent at home- Sacha hooked up our new dryer, I did laundry, Sacha went back to church for a rehearsal, and stayed home and played with Balian.

Since I didn't get to do Mother's Day brunch on Sunday, I decided to make a special breakfast on Saturday morning... Stuffed French Toast! It was my first attempt. Some of my mommy friends have asked for the recipe, so to my recollection, this is what I did:

You will need:
4-6 (or more, depending on how many you're feeding) thick slices of French bread
2 eggs
2 tsp cinnamon or nutmeg

1/2 block (about 4 oz) of cream cheese, softened
1 Tbsp Vanilla
2 Tbsp Sugar
*Mix together and put to the side.

Cut a small pocket in each slice of bread.
Gently spoon the filling mixture into the bread pocket.

Mix the eggs and spice together, let bread slices soak up the egg mixture for about 7-10 minutes... OR you can do this overnight in the refrigerator.

In a lightly buttered (or sprayed) frying pan, cook the bread slices on med-low heat until golden brown. Serve with your favorite toppings: syrup, powdered sugar, fruit, etc...

And it looks like...

So, there you have it. Hope you'll give it a try and enjoy!

It's raining here today, so that'll put a damper on taking B out to play. Oh, well- we'll get creative inside.  Maybe we'll try to get some chores done. I'll be picking winners for both the It Works and Mark Giveaways this morning, so be on the lookout for those posts!

Did I mention that Balian is seven months old today? :) Can't believe how fast this first year with him is going by. He's the greatest joy in my life, and the sweetest little babe I know! Hope you all have a great day! Stay tuned for more great things to come on The Mommy Blog!

Sheaffer Prelude Mini Ballpoint Pen Review and Giveaway

Our fine friends at Sheaffer Pen were very kind and sent me a beautiful Sheaffer Mini Ballpoint Pen to try (and keep!). I have always been jealous of my husband's fancy and expensive Cross pen, and he's been saying for quite a long time that a fancy pen would make a wonderful gift for me. Well, now he doesn't need to get me one, because I have a beautiful pen from Sheaffer!

Sheaffer Prelude Mini Ballpoint Pen in Rose Gold Shimmer

I am very particular about my pens. I don't care for gel pens- they're just too inky, and I've always preferred a plain old BIC ballpoint pen to many others. Well, guess what... BIC is a division of Sheaffer! When I opened the package that was sent out to me a couple of weeks ago, I was greeted by a beautiful box with the Sheaffer logo printed right on the front. When I opened the lovely box, a beautiful rose colored pen lay before me- just waiting for me to pick it up and start writing. I needed to make a grocery list, so I put the pen right to work!

Sheaffer Prelude Mini Ballpoint Pen in Rose Gold Shimmer

It's a wonderful pen! It's a miniature size, so there's no fumbling around with it. It fits very well in my checkbook wallet, too- which is wonderful! Physically, the pen is just lovely. It's a Rose Gold Shimmer, featuring Nickel Plate Trim. The Suggested Retail Price of this pen is $40.00!

The Sheaffer Prelude Mini Ballpoint Pen is available in six different finishes:
*Brushed Chrome Plate Featuring Nickel Plate Trim SRP $40.00
*Black Laque' Featuring Gold Tone Trim SRP $40.00
*Black Onyx Laque' Barrel with Chased Palladium Cap Featuring Nickel Plate Trim SRP $40.00
*Rose Gold Shimmer Featuring Nickel Plate Trim SRP $40.00
*Translucent Red Featuring Gold Tone Trim SRP $40.00
*Gloss White Featuring Nickel Plate Trim SRP $40.00

I think this pen would make the perfect gift for just about any occasion, and with graduation ceremonies coming up, if you're looking for a gift for grads, this will be a gift they will use and cherish for many, many years!

And that's not all...
Our friends at Sheaffer are so kind! They're going to give one lucky Mommy Blog reader a Sheaffer Prelude Mini Ballpoint Pen of their very own!

To enter this giveaway, you MUST:

It Works! Giveaway

Our friend Lori Knight with IT WORKS! is giving away an Ultimate Body Applicator
What is it? Glad you asked!

Expect "ultimate" results with this amazing 45-minute body Applicator! The Ultimate Body Applicator is a non-woven cloth wrap that has been infused with a powerful, botanically-based formula to deliver maximum tightening, toning, and firming results when applied to the skin.

It continuously hydrates for firmer, smoother, more youthful-looking skin and reduces the appearance of cellulite and skin slackening. See results in 45 minutes.
This single package contains one Ultimate Body Applicator™ that can be applied to the area of your choice, such as the abdomen, back, legs, or arms. Easy to apply and comes ready to use.

One lucky follower will win...

*On average, people lose 1-4 inches from each applicator.

What mommy doesn't need one of these after giving birth to their sweet little babe? It's been almost seven months since Balian was born, and even though I've lost the baby weight and then some, I still have the stretched out skin look, which isn't very stylish! I'd LOVE to try this! :)
