Who else out there is suffering terribly this allergy season? I am having such a struggle with mine, that after years of being off allergy shots and doing well, I've decided that I need to start them up again. After going through the testing process and waiting for the serum to be made, which it's been close to a month now, I have developed daily sinus headaches. They usually hit about mid day, and if I'm not careful, they will turn into full blown migraines. Even though I have had migraines for years, I still struggle with the debilitating pain and dizziness that it brings.


Lately I'll go to bed with a headache and wake up with the same one, having barely slept because of the pain. It's been really frustrating and has started to impact my daily life, and finding anything that provides relief has been tough. Huggaroo was kind enough to send me two of their different microwavable heating pads. Their Microwavable Heating Pad- Warm Compress Neck Wrap with Aromatherapy, which retails for $35.99, and their Microwavable Heating Pad-Warm Compress Eye Mask and Headache Wrap with Aromatherapy, which retails for $29.99.  Each one is made out of 100% polyester, minky fabric, and the eye mask/headache wrap is filled with clay bead, flax seed and 100% dried herbs including; lavender, chamomile, peppermint, and lemongrass. The Neck wrap is filled with flax seed, wheat, lavender, chamomile, peppermint, spearmint, lemongrass, rosemary, cinnamon, yarrow, white willow, valerian root, yellow dock, and hops. Something to note, is that both of these can be used as a cold compress, as well.




Two days after these arrived we had some pretty rough storms, and I could feel a monster headache building. I tried my best to power through the day, but I could feel the throbbing building up, and I knew I needed to do something quickly. I grabbed the eye mask/headache wrap out of the box, and read the instructions, which noted to heat it up for the first time, no more than 30 seconds in the microwave, on a heat safe plate. *You don't want to over heat and cause it to burn, or burn yourself in return. Once the wrap was done, I waited a bit before taking it out of the microwave to be sure that I didn't burn myself. It was warm, but not hot, and as I sat in my recliner and wrapped it around my head, I immediately began to feel a sense of comfort and ease. My dog was quite concerned about it, that she jumped in my lap to check it out, and sensing my level of comfort, began to fall asleep in my lap.

I sat with that on my head for close to 20 minutes, and started to feel major relief from my headache. I hadn't stopped it, but I was able to calm the throbbing pain and relax my body. The aromatherapy scents are wonderful, and really helped to bring an extra sense of peace and relaxation as the moist heat and weight started to ease my pain. I can't even describe the level of relaxation I felt, and I was so grateful that Huggaroo had come up with something like this, that I know will provide me with relief for years to come. I was so excited for my hubby to try the neck wrap for his neck and shoulder pain from work. He works long, hard hours in aircraft and most days are spent with his arms lifted above his head, holding a laser tracker to measure the curve of aircraft wings. This leaves him with pain and sometimes numbness in his neck and shoulders. He has been looking for something natural to help ease the tension and pain he feels on a daily basis, and the neck wrap, to me, would be perfect for him, or any hard working man.


While he was winding down for the day, playing some video games, I figured there was not better time for him to try it. Again, after microwaving for 30 seconds for the first use, I asked him to put it on and try it out. He was skeptical at first, but I could tell after a few minutes, that he was really enjoying it. A few days ago, when I was dealing with some menstrual pain, I decided to heat up the neck wrap and use it on my stomach. With the neck wrap having a distinct curve to fit your neck, it is also the perfect shape to use on your stomach area. The moist heat provide some much needed pain relief, and I realized that the eye mask/headache wrap was also a good shape and size for this use also. I really love that there are some many uses for these products, and not just what it was originally intended for. Although, you should always use the products as intended.
