McDonald's Brings Families Together at Home or on the Go + McDonalds Prize Pack #Giveaway ($100.00 RV)

When I was a little girl, there were a few special treats that my parents would surprise me and my sister with from time to time. Our favorite treat of all was a family trip to McDonald's! We didn't have a lot of money, so those trips were few and far between, and I'll tell you what- some of my favorite childhood memories took place enjoying good food and family time at McDonald's! As a parent, a trip to McDonald's feels a little different than it did as a child, but I still love the food, the friendly smiles, and the excited gasps from my own kids when we surprise them with a special lunch at Micky D's!

A Family Favorite Through the Decades

McDonald's has been delighting families with their tasty burgers and signature french fries since 1948. It all began with an innovative idea, a seemingly simple concept that would change lives, and delicious hamburgers, sold for just fifteen cents each. McDonald's has seen its fair share of change through the years, but good food and outstanding service remain!

McDonald's restaurants have been getting makeovers lately, making them sleek and modern restaurants for all to enjoy. Their latest additions to their offerings include new menu items and convenient ways to order your meal.

As a busy family of four, we know there's a lot to love and appreciate about McDonald's. It's definitely a staple for us when we need to grab a quick meal that we know will be good each and every time. It's also our go-to restaurant when we travel. The kids absolutely love it, and it's a great place for parents to relax, regroup, and refuel!

Good food, smiling faces!

On our recent trip to Tennessee, we didn't even have to think about where we'd stop for lunch on our way there or on our way home. McDonald's was an obvious choice for us because everyone in the family enjoys their delicious food, they have tons of menu options, easy ordering, clean restaurants, and did I mention the Happy Meals?

As a mom who usually has her hands full, one of my favorite features of newer McDonald's restaurants, and some of the locations which have been recently updated, is the new ordering kiosk! These free-standing QSR kiosks make it easier than ever to place your customized order with the touch of a button! Skip the line at the counter and order at the kiosk- you'll thank me later! It's so fast and convenient! Don't have time to go into the restaurant and sit down to eat? No problem! Most McDonald's restaurants now offer Curbside Ordering/Pick-Up!

There's also something about being greeted by the friendly faces of McDonald's employees. They're always happy to see their customers, and eager to make your experience the best it can possibly be.

Let's talk about food!

When I was a kid, there was nothing I loved more than a McDonald's Happy Meal. The chicken nuggets were such a treat, and the golden delicious fries are something I still crave (along with nice cold fountain Coke) as an adult. Don't ask me why, but Coke from McDonald's is the absolute best! Today, my kids go crazy for Happy Meals! They're always excited for the fun toys that often are able to be connected with a cool app for added fun. Plus, they love the food and are always happy when they receive their Happy Meal box with nuggets, a small portion of french fries, and apple slices or yogurt, along with a drink, which is milk or Honest Kids juice 9 times out of 10.

I definitely care a lot about what goes into my body, as well as my husband's and kids' bodies. I was so happy to see that McDonald's is making such a big effort to help their customers feel good about the food they're eating. McDonald's recently announced that their classic burgers have no artificial preservatives in them. This includes menu favorites such as the hamburger, cheeseburger, double cheeseburger, McDouble, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese and Big Mac. The pickle does have an added preservative, which McDonald's has been transparent about, and of course- all customers have the option to 'hold the pickle,' if they so choose.

Favorites: Old & New

If you're a longtime fan of McDonald's like I am, you probably have your list of favorites from the McDonald's menu. I am a Big Mac lover, myself. In fact, sometimes I downright crave one, and nothing else can satisfy. Sometimes, I'll change it up and order McNuggets, or a Quarter Pounder with Cheese. Yum! I always ask for Sweet & Sour Sauce on the side for dipping. Ever tried dipping your burger in it? Delicious! And I couldn't walk away from McDonald's without a side of their golden delicious fries (sorry, but none other compare!), and a Coke!

Hubby was excited to try one of McDonald's newer burgers, the Bacon Smokehouse Burger. He's a big fan of craft beer and pub food, so this was a must-try for him. The burger features a yummy beef patty, white cheddar, fried onion straws, applewood bacon, a bacon onion sauce, sweet mustard sauce, all served on an artisan roll! This burger is the jam! I was lucky enough to sneak a bite of it before it was devoured! I know what I'm ordering the next time I go to McDonald's!
