Gift Your Mom Joy: Old Line Oysters + Giveaway! #MBPMOMSDAY20

Thank you to Old Line Oysters for providing me with these fabulous gifts for sharing with my mom. All thoughts are my own.

Do any of you struggle with finding the perfect gift for your mom? Each year, I often wonder what my mom will enjoy as she isn't into the latest and greatest trends out there. She grew up on a farm near the Nanticoke River, found on the eastern shore of Maryland. Our Irish family settled in the communities along the river to have easy access for Oyster farming. Oyster farming, while not lucrative, did provide money for families to live and became a way of life for eastern shore residents. Over the years restrictions placed on oyster farming has made it difficult to be a way of life, but many still persist.

So, in comes Old Line Oysters, a small business dedicated not only to provide wonderful home decorations but also to recycle and assist the Chesapeake Bay in the process. For every decorated shell purchased, 10 oyster shells are recycled to Oyster Bay Recovery, who assists in the reproduction of oysters by placing baby oysters back in the bay. This then helps the Chesapeake Bay be restored back to health as pollution run-off and improper harvesting have caused damage over the years.

I jumped at the chance to work with Old Line- not only because of the ecological impact their company has on the area I grew up in- but because I knew my mom would love their designs! I was sent a gold-leaf embellished oyster with my mom's name carefully drawn in calligraphy by hand. Your oyster shell can have an embellished name, water color, or even collegiate mark. Most of Old Line's Shells are custom made too, so you can always work with the owner to determine your best needs!

These gold-leaf oysters can be used as ring or earring dishes. Or, you can get created and add them to your candle, flower, or shell decor! Old Line also sent a wonderful oyster necklace that I know my mom will just love! The gifts came in a cute reusable bag along with a card that tells the recipient where their oyster shells came from.

Old Line also offers other fair trade jewelry, oyster candles, and salt/pepper cellars. Their prices are very reasonable. The large watercolor shell is $35.00 while the Ring Dish shell is $25.00.

Old Line Oyster gifts can be used in so many ways. Treat your bridesmaids, girlfriends, mom, or friends with custom-made shells! I highly recommend you visit Old Line Oysters , especially if you have friends that love coastal decor! You won't be disappointed!
