Weekends with the Wigglesworths- Our Spring Break in Florida

Happy Saturday, friends! You might have noticed that our WWTW post was missing last weekend. That's because we were in Florida and this Mama didn't bring her laptop. We're back this weekend (we actually got home Monday evening) and while we are missing Florida (especially that weather), we are all looking forward to a "boring" weekend after all the excitement and drama that happened during vacation!

Off to a Good Start

Our trip started off great. As you might remember, the girls had absolutely no idea that we were going to Florida, or anywhere for that matter. My sister, Jessica, and her husband picked us up and brought us to the airport a few hours before our flight was supposed to leave.
As much as we tried, we couldn't convince the girls that we weren't going on a plane, so we fibbed and told them we were going to Hershey Park in Pennsylvania.

Hitting the First Rough Patch

We were at the airport pretty early and I wasn't as prepared as I should have been. The girls were getting pretty bored and my phone battery was dying. The flight was delayed a little bit and we were all getting hungry, so we decided to grab some bagels from the coffee/pastry franchise at the airport. That was a mistake, but we'll get to that later. We ate, our plane boarded, and we were off.
We arrived in Florida around midnight, give or take a few minutes, and my stomach was doing flip-flops. I assumed it was due to exhaustion and not having flown in a few years.

So, now we're in Florida and the girls are so tired, they aren't paying much attention to the fact that every loudspeaker announcement is saying Orlando. They are just ready to get in a "taxi"  and get to wherever we are going for the night. We sit on a bench while Matt calls for our ride to pick us up. The girls have no idea he was talking to his parents until they pull up and get out of the car to greet us. The girls have lost their minds and we finally tell them we are in Florida and are spending the week with Grandpa and Grandma!

Day One, No Fun!

Remember I mentioned the bagels and a mistake? Turns out, 3/4 of us probably got food poisoning because we spent most of our first day in Florida either getting sick or sleeping. D slept most of the day away. R was the only one who was not sick, likely because her bagel was prepared differently than the rest of ours. Who would have guessed being so picky could end up being a good thing?

Feeling Better Day Two and Beyond!

Thankfully, by Tuesday morning we were all feeling back to normal. The girls were surprised with beautiful princess dresses from Grandpa and Grandma and we were out the door to the Magic Kingdom! We did a lot of walking but had so much fun. On Wednesday we visited Animal Kingdom and on Thursday we went to Epcot. Our favorite rides were Splash Mountain (MK), the Safari ride (AK), and Soarin' (Epcot).

Our first time seeing this tree in person! It was pretty magical.

We had a ball at Epcot!

After Disney, the girls enjoyed just spending time with Grandpa and Grandma. Matt and I tried to be a little more hands off so that they could enjoy their time together. We also got to visit with our long-time friends, the Braceys, and with some of my Florida family. We had a great time, but on Monday night, we were all glad to be back in our own beds.

Back to Normalcy

So this weekend we are back to our normal routine. The only "exciting" thing we have planned for today is a doctor's appointment this morning. After that, nothing is planned. Any other weekend, I'd feel a little bummed about that, but this weekend I am grateful for it!

I hope you have a great weekend!
