Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread #Recipe #TastyThursday

This cornbread is going to knock your socks off! I can't claim this recipe or take credit for it, but I can tell you it came out exactly as the recipe claimed it would and I could not have been more pleased!

Cast of Characters:

1/2 Cup Butter
2 Eggs
2/3 Cup White Sugar
1 Cup Buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
1 Cup Cornmeal
1 Cup All Purpose Flour
1/2 teaspoon Salt

That's it!

1. Preheat oven to 375'
2. Melt butter in large skillet. Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Quickly add eggs and beat until well blended. Combine buttermilk with baking soda and stir into mixture in pan. Stir in cornmeal, flour, and salt until well blended and few lumps remain. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
3. Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes.

This is pretty much a "add everything and stir" type of recipe so there is very little room for error! I like those kinds of recipes, personally.

I'm going to be honest with you... I totally went in "late night snack style" and heated up a square of cornbread to go with a rerun of 90210 last night when I should have been working on falling asleep. Shh. Don't tell anyone.

It's cornbread time!

What would you serve this delicious cornbread with?
