The above photo is a real, honest look at what I look like at 5:30 am. It's scary. This morning, I was wide awake at 5:15 am (don't ask me how- I was up working until 11 pm and didn't actually go to bed until close to midnight). I have been telling myself that I am going to start getting up early to exercise each morning. I always intend to exercise before the end of the day, but it almost never happens, and at this point, a brisk walk just isn't cutting it. I need more- more cardio, more core strengthening- less sitting on the floor with my almost 13-month-old. I am ready to make a change.


After months of disliking my post-baby body, I am ready to make those little changes in my life that will make a big impact. You know- those little ones that are for whatever reason the hardest ones to make. Saying no to sweets and tons of carbs (oh, I love pasta, though!), eating foods that are good for me, and making sure my family does, too. It means getting up earlier and hitting the yoga/Pilates mat early in the morning before I wake my son up for school. It means sacrificing those quiet 20-30 minutes, and focusing on me- loving myself, and taking care of the body that God gave me... after all, it's the only one I'm going to get in this life.

  1. I def need the motivation to help me work harder at the gym. id love to continue my journey on being stronger and more fit. youve already taken a big step to start so keep it up!
