The above photo is a real, honest look at what I look like at 5:30 am. It's scary. This morning, I was wide awake at 5:15 am (don't ask me how- I was up working until 11 pm and didn't actually go to bed until close to midnight). I have been telling myself that I am going to start getting up early to exercise each morning. I always intend to exercise before the end of the day, but it almost never happens, and at this point, a brisk walk just isn't cutting it. I need more- more cardio, more core strengthening- less sitting on the floor with my almost 13-month-old. I am ready to make a change.
After months of disliking my post-baby body, I am ready to make those little changes in my life that will make a big impact. You know- those little ones that are for whatever reason the hardest ones to make. Saying no to sweets and tons of carbs (oh, I love pasta, though!), eating foods that are good for me, and making sure my family does, too. It means getting up earlier and hitting the yoga/Pilates mat early in the morning before I wake my son up for school. It means sacrificing those quiet 20-30 minutes, and focusing on me- loving myself, and taking care of the body that God gave me... after all, it's the only one I'm going to get in this life.
What kind of goals are you setting for yourself right now? Vacation is coming up in four weeks, and I want to be ready, so I can enjoy that time with my family. What are your goals for this week? Share them with me in the comments, and keep checking in as I share my progress.
You can meet your goals and I can meet mine. Let's do this!
