Day Trips & Destinations: Nickelodeon Suites Resort, Orlando #Review

Our little family has just returned from a wonderful vacation to Florida! While I am more than a little sad to be home already, at least I have some great memories (and pictures) to get me by until next year. We visited the Orlando area and were very fortunate to get to spend a night at Nickelodeon Suites Resort. I have fond memories of watching Nickelodeon as a kid, and now my girls watch, so when the opportunity to visit the hotel presented itself, I was pretty excited to book our stay.

It's as Cool as It Looks!

Our Room was Up There Somewhere!

We booked a "Premium 2-Bedroom Spongebob Suite" which faced the Lagoon Pool area which was pretty great. The suite itself was perfect for our family. You enter through the living room/kitchenette area which is a good size. The living room area included a pull-out sofa (which we did not need on this trip), a chair, and a 32-inch flat screen television. The kitchenette area included the sink, mini refrigerator, microwave, and coffeemaker.

The girls' bedroom was a semi-private room (there was no door to separate it from the living area, but there was one to separate the 2 bedrooms) that was adorned with a Spongebob wall mural and included 2 twin beds, a 20-inch television, a small closet, and a dresser.

The master bedroom was a private room and included a very comfortable queen bed, a desk/vanity, a closet (with a safe, iron and ironing board inside), a dresser, and another 32-inch flat screen television. There was no Spongebob wall mural, but there was a pretty cool painting hanging.

The bathroom was a pretty typical bathroom, and I don't have much to say about it, but one thing about it made me pretty happy- with the rest of the toiletries, next to the shampoo, we had CONDITIONER! I hope I am not the only person that gets excited when a hotel includes conditioner in the "toiletries package".

So, the room was great, but honestly our family's favorite part of the hotel was the Lagoon Pool. There were lots of people present, but it did not feel over crowded at all. Drew had a blast playing in the water tower area, which was designed for children (of all ages) that are 40-inches and taller. Reese, who was not tall enough to enjoy the water tower, did have fun in the pool and there was a special, smaller scaled play area for children that are 40-inches and smaller. There were plenty of chairs to sit and relax in, towels and life jackets available at the poolside desk, burgers, hotdogs, sandwiches, and drinks available at the Lagoon Grill and Bar, lifeguards, basketball court with multi-height hoops, a miniature golf course (which we LOVED), and cabanas (if that's your idea of relaxing poolside and you make a reservation).

In addition to the Lagoon Pool, Nickelodeon Suites Resort offers a ton of fun stuff for families. You can shop at the mall, enjoy a movie at the 4-D Experience Theater, Meet and Greet your favorite Nickelodeon characters (we got to meet the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles after we finished swimming the night we arrived and some of the Spongebob Gang the next morning during the character breakfast!), get SLIMED, and so much more.

One of the things we missed out on, but really wish we could have participated in, was Double Dare Live. Double Dare was my favorite Nickelodeon show growing up, and I would have loved to be in the audience. If our girls were old enough, I might have even considered having us "try out" to be contestants!
