Sweet Party Treats from Candy Cottage #Review & #Giveaway

Part of Balian's 3rd Birthday Bash

Something that can make a birthday party or any special get together even more special, is having tasty treats to offer to friends and family members. This year, I wanted to keep the party food simple, so we made BBQ pork, served some chips and dip, corn bake and some fruit. I wanted it to be very low-key, and in order to keep it that way, it meant that I really had to be okay with keeping everything simple. I asked my mother-in-law to make the cupcakes, and I worked with some fabulous ladies who offered some delicious goodies for the kids.

When I found myself at the Candy Cottage, I knew I had found the perfect place to look for specialty chocolate favors for Balian's party. I was lucky to be able to connect with Reggie, owner of Candy Cottage, who offered to make and send one dozen specialty Cars chocolate lollipops, which would be handpainted for the party! Reggie is very gifted and creates all sorts of beautifully decorated specialty chocolate favors for parties, holidays and special occasions. One look through her shop and you'll be drooling over her creations!

Our box of goodies for B's party from Candy Cottage...

Reggie used gel packs in our package to help keep the chocolate from melting during shipping.

I couldn't wait to open up the bags containing the chocolate lollipops for the party and sneak a peek at the adorably decorated goodies! I slowly began to pull out some of the lollipops and was greeted by brightly colored Cars characters, like Lightning McQueen, Tow Mater, Sally and Doc Hudson... all of Balian's favorite characters!

Tow Mater and Lightning McQueen

The lollipops are created by using a chocolate mold, and then each one is decorated by hand with edible paints. I can't imagine the amount of time and work that goes into making just a few of these awesome litle treats! They look so fantastic, you almost don't want to eat them! I love the detail in the decoration of each character- from Mater's headlights to Lightning's '95.'

Looks like Mater to me!

Tow Mater, one of B's favorite characters...

Doc Hudson... looks tasty, huh?

Miss Sally

The back of each lollipop had a Cottage Candy sticker on it, teling others where they would be able to find Candy Cottage creations!

Each and every one of the lollipops was individually wrapped, and sealed with ties ribbon, to match the colors of the lollipop decor! That made it even more special! I loved that Lightning's ribbons were red and yellow, and docs were ark blue with white! It added a festive touch to each candy piece, and made for an even better looking dispay at the party! I couldn't wait for everyone to see these, because I knew they were going to love them- especially the kids!

I used B's Lightning McQueen Easter Basket to hold the chocolate lollipops at the party and stuck a couple of racing flags in with them. They looked so cute nestled in the basket together!

Here are the characters, all stuffed into the basket for the party.

I wish I could have captured the looks on everyone's faces when they saw the chocolate lollipop basket, filled with chocolate Cars characters! The kids especially, loved that they could just run in and grab their favorite character and take it home. Balian was so excited over these lollipops. He was sort of being a little sneak at the party, and before I knew it, he'd gotten his hands on two of these treats before the party really even started. Oh, well- at least I knew they had to be delicious! Well done, Reggie! The adults were highly impressed by Reggie and her skilled hand. Everyone was eager to take one of these lollipops home to enjoy after the party- though I hated to see them go, because they looked so cute as a decoration on the sweets table!

Reggie is very talented and can create a multitude of different designs for your event! Take a look at some of these other specialty chocolates from Candy Cottage...
