| Friends are waiting for you.. for all of eternity. |
Before we jump gears and dive straight into all things green and red, let's take a step back and celebrate our upcoming holiday! Halloween!
No matter whether you practice it or not, Halloween, or All Hallows Eve, has some interesting roots. Not entiring pagan, but not entiring Christian, this holiday lives in the "in between". No matter whether it's a celetic harvest festival or preparing one's self for for the fasting that will occur on All Souls Day, this holiday is still one in which people believe that the physical and supernatural worlds are the closest.
I don't doubt that there is much we do not understand about the world we live in, the ancient religions and practices that still exist, and even about our daily lives, but I do love some good ole fashioned 90's Halloween fun!
Now, in full disclosure- y'all can keep your horror. Nope.
So, if you are wanting to relieve some of your old Hocus Pocus Halloween type party fun, head over to Conway, otherwise known as the Halloweentown of the south!
Note- the original Halloweentown is in St. Helen's, Oregon
No matter if you self- proclaim to not be afraid of no ghosts, or are shaking in your boots, Halloweentown is a mix of spook and trick, waiting for you to explore.
For the entire month of October, Halloweentown olds events that will both thrill and fascinate you! Spend some time wandering around the square, basking in all the glorius decorations. If you are really brave, you will head over on a Saturday evening, but be aware that parking will be limited and you might get annoyed at all the ghouls and goblins taking up your space.
In fact, the City of Conway actually offers a park'n'ride option, having an area away from downtown with shuttle access. While you have to rely on their schedules, you don't have to deal with the crowds, the parking situation, and the general frustrations that come with big festivals in small-towns.
