Last week was absolutely nuts for us. Aside from our typical everyday responsibilities, we had special school events added in. Tuesday was the MS/HS Band Concert, Thursday was Field Day, and Friday, the school's Varsity Drumline kicked off our local Relay for Life event. It was wonderful to be present for all of these events, and to spend time with our children. It did add to the overall busyness of our week, but as I remind myself often, the years are short. I can't believe our oldest is headed to high school in August. Where has the time gone?
This week is slightly lighter than last week, but we have rehearsals after school, which means double the picking up of children. We also have B's Eighth Grade Bridging Ceremony on Wednesday, and then the most looked-forward to day of the school year...the last day of school! Not to worry, though- we'll still be dropping B off at school for drumline practice throughout the month of June to prep for marching and playing in the 4th of July parade.
June will still be busy, with VBS happening at our church (it's a family volunteer and participation affair), work continuing on, and getting ready for the parade. We are hoping to sneak away to the mountains for a day or two before May runs out. I have to get my peaceful mindset back before we swing into summer. We'll take a few days to enjoy the beach with my parents in June, and then in July, I'll be able to take my full week of actual vacation.
Summer is going to fly by... it always does. I'm ready to make the most of it.
How are your last few days of May looking?
