What is on your holiday wish list this year? Does it include a gift from the Holy Land? Visiting the Holy Land, while a bucket list item, is not on my radar any time soon. Artza is a word that means towards the land. This Advent season, we are on a journey towards the lands where Jesus was born, where he grew up, and eventually, where he died. This journey is filled with hardship but is full of amazing redeeming love! Christmas reminds us of the true joy and love found in a small baby. A baby that grows up to be the Messiah of the world!
Artza boxes remind us of the purpose and reason for Advent and Christmas. Joy is often brought to the giver and giftee through a specially well though out gift. A plus for me is when the item is carefully curated, made with love, and selected to help tell a story. This is exactly what Artza boxes do: select their artisans, products, and cities to share a story of Jesus!
I've received several Artza boxes and I'm always in awe at the artisans, products, and stories that are brought to life through a simple subscription box. For someone like me who isn't financially able to travel to the Holy Land, I'm glad to get a glimpse of life in Israel today, while connecting me to the past Israel of Jesus' time.
There are often two schools of thoughts regarding gifts. There are the "I can't wait until Christmas and want to open it the minute its in my hands " and there is the "let it sit under the tree, let me ponder and wonder, and be filled with amazing joy when I finally do open it.
I did open this box, and love the items in it, but I don't want to completely spoil the surprise for you by listing everything! You can probably guess most items based on pictures, but they do include some foods, some artwork, something useful, and lots of information about the artisans and cities!
This particular box is filled with 7-9 items that range from sweet treats, such as Lavender Toffee, to hand-crafted ornaments. There is definitely something to eat, something to use, and something to love in this box!
I've decided to gift this box to my mom. Her church recently had a group travel to the Holy Land and I know she wished that she could go with them. I know that she will love the foods (including a wonderful tea mix), the beautiful artwork, and learning about the people in Bethlehem, Galilee, and Nazareth!
