I'm going to share with you some of my favorite summer day trips for the NC Triad area as well as a few I would like to explore!

North Carolina is jam packed with amazing day trip opportunities! Adventure, fun and even learning is literally right at our fingertips here in this amazing state, less than 2 hours in every direction. If you have visited any of these locations, feel free to sound off in the comments section or if you want to share a favorite that's not on this list! Most of these places do charge a fee for entrance but I feel it's very much worth it. 

To start with, here are a few day trip activities that my family greatly enjoys:

Carolina Raptor Center: Huntersville

We absolutely loved the Raptor Center and can't wait to visit again! I highly recommend visiting this beautiful center and standing just feet away from some of the most beautiful raptors you'll ever see. 

Lazy 5 Ranch: Mooresville

If you know, you know. I'm pretty sure most people visit Lazy 5 but if you haven't, you must! Pet and feed beautiful wildlife at this unique park. 

Greensboro Children's Museum: Greensboro 

The Greensboro Children's Museum is one of those places your kiddos will not soon forget. Which reminds me, my children were so young when we went, it's time for another visit. The mind will be boggled, the senses will explode and fun will be had!

The Pit, Tiger World and Great Wolf Lodge are a few more of our family favorites! In the future we hope to visit Lake Norman State Park, All A Flutter Butterfly Farm, Bullhole River Park as well as other scenic spots. I absolutely love living in an area that has so many possibilities for fun. Having a 10 year old and almost 9 year old, we are always looking for ways to make amazing memories. If you visit this area or perhaps have just moved here, I hope you'll check out some of the places listed above and make some new memories with your own family. 

Summer 2021 is going to be a good one. I can feel it!
