Toilet Paper Gate, Round Two?

I've been seeing pictures and hearing stories lately, about grocery store shelves being devoid of paper products again. At first, I didn't want to believe it and honestly thought that it was probably because the trucks hadn't come to those stores yet. It couldn't be true in my area, the shelves were stocked last week and all seemed normal, but was it really? Yesterday, in between writing emails and heading out for my evening work shift, I ran to the store to get groceries, only to be left in bewilderment and frustration. There was no toilet paper, paper towels or tissues to be found!

How is this happening again? Are we in a panic over another possible shutdown, is it because Thanksgiving is next week? Whatever the reason may be, the fact of the matter still remained, I needed toilet paper! I do realize and recognize that there are parts of the US whose shelves have remained sparse and are yet to stay fully stocked with products. I'm not saying that my stores have been fully stocked either, but I haven't had to travel to multiple stores and hunt for products online in a few months. I was really hoping we wouldn't ever have to do that again!

After purchasing my small amount of groceries, I headed to one store that usually has paper products in stock, Walgreens. Walgreens is across the street from my neighborhood and is a convenient choice for me, however, I do know that people may not have this option local to them or be able to afford it themselves. I've found that they have a great deal on their store brand of toilet paper and paper towels, and it's usually cheaper than buying it from other big box stores. Sadly, they were pretty much out of items as well, but I was able to get a pack of toilet paper and paper towels, so I felt extremely fortunate to be able to purchase these items. Paper towels I can always do without and use cloth towels and napkins, but there is something about toilet paper that I just can't seem to go without it!

It got me to wondering if other places across the US and possibly the world are seeing these trends as well? Are your local stores running low, or out of these items too? Have you had good luck with certain stores over others? Let us know in the comments if you are experiencing this as well and where you have been buying these products from? Have you noticed a price increase, or have they stayed the same? We'd love to hear from you!
