Living on the coast of North Carolina has increased my awareness of plastic usage, particularly single-use plastics. While I am far from perfect, I do try to limit usage, recycle, and keep plastic from our beautiful ocean. Soap is important for keeping our hands and bodies clean, but often times it's single use plastic and chemicals end up doing more harm than good. When I ran across CannedGood Soaps I immediately became intrigued at the concept. Soap in a can? Who has heard of such a thing?

CannedGood Soap is a family- run business that tries to source naturally made products in a sustainable way. Recognizing that plastic hygiene bottles often end up in landfills, CannedGood Soap offers aluminum as a product replacement.

Why aluminum? It's recyclable! Easily melted down to repurpose, aluminum makes up less than 1% of the world's trash despite usage of 65,000 + cans yearly. Numbers comparison: about 63% of aluminum is recycled opposed to 23% plastic and 26% glass. What we place in the trash versus the recycle bin really does matter!

CannedGood also uses natural organic ingredients as bases on their soaps. Decorative cans filled with shea butter based soaps use essential oils to create their three custom-curated scents. Not only are the soaps moisturizing but they also smell great! New designs styles are created seasonally.

Popping the tab and placing the pump in the can was so easy! While meant for a gift, I tested out Country Scent. The soap is great: it doesn't leave your hands dry, doesn't feel like there is a film as with other soaps, and it smells wonderful!
