In honor of April Fools Day, Warner Brothers brought pranks into the home by releasing Impractical Jokers: The Movie, available to own on digital now!  Starring James “Murr” Murray, Brian “Q” Quinn, Joe Gatto, and Sal Vulvano, known as the comedy troupe The Tenderloins, play themselves in a fictional story of a humiliating high school mishap from the early nineties. Featuring appearances from Paula Abdul, Jaden Smith, and Joey Fatone, the movie combines the fictional narrative with real life footage of over-the-top punishments and callbacks to classic moments from the TV series. Once the Impractical Jokers hit the road, they compete in hidden camera challenges for the chance to turn back the clock and find redemption.

Growing up, my grand-father often took me to the movies to see the latest film. I loved the experience: getting popcorn and a soda, picking the theater seat in just the right spot, and waiting in anticipation as the lights dimmed and the screen flashed. Fast forward to today: I still love going to the theater to see the latest release! Having been sad that I've not been able to go to the movies,  I jumped at the chance to see another new release.. in the comfort of my own home!

Impractical Jokers: The Movie opens up with four friends living a high-school experience in which a  Paul Abdul concert went horribly wrong. Fast forward several years later, while eating in a Jersey diner, Abdul offers them a chance to join her in a Miami club. Only given three passes, the four friends turn their road-trip into a prankster journey using unaware bystanders, organizations, and family members as props to pull off their ideas.  Due to insider jokes, not all of movie material may make sense to the novice Tenderloin viewer, especially if one has not followed their comedy career on Tru TV. 

While I can never pull them off well, I love a good prank and was pleasantly surprised at the hijinks these four friends pulled on each other throughout their journey from Jersey to Miami. Some of the innocent pranks reminded me of the times my friends used to pull hijinks on each other in our high school and young adult days. 

 As with any movie, there were scenes I enjoyed more than others; such as Q  being forced to dress as a Roman Centurion while riding a horse through the backroads of NC in order to arrive at the South of the Border Rest area in South Carolina. 

Sometimes, those folks who chose to play along with The Tenderloins antics amused me more than the intent of the original prank. The varying reactions to each public prank was priceless! 

 While not all comedy genres are fulfilled in this movie, if you love watching good friends pull mostly harmless pranks on each other, Impractical Jokers: the Movie is for you! Warning- at a PG-13 rating, not all scenes are appropriate for young teens or children, so viewer's discretion is advised.
