My Top 5 Crock Pot Meals!

If you have been with us here at Mommy's Block Party for any length of time you know that I love my crock pot and use it frequently.  I have not ventured into the world of InstaPots or Air Fryers and really have no interest in them.  My crock pot is my friend and I love coming home to the delicisou smells of dinner that is ready to eat.  I decided to share my top 5 favorite crock pot meals with you.  My family loves these and we have them for dinner pretty often.

Crockpot Chicken Noodle Soup

4 cups chicken, cooked and chopped

1 cup diced onion (I don't like onion so left this out)

1 cup diced celery ( I only used 1/2 because I'm not a huge celery fan)

1 cup diced carrots

1/2 cup froze peas

56 oz. chicken broth

2 cans cream of chicken soup

salt and pepper to taste

2 cups cooked noodles (I put them in uncooked about 30 minutes before it would be done and they cooked in the crockpot)

Place chicken in the crockpot with onions, celery, carrots and peas.  Stir in broth and soup.  Add salt and pepper to taste.  Cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 8-9 hours.  When soup is ready, stir in noodles.

Easy Chicken Cacciatore

4 chicken breasts

1 can diced tomatoes

1 jar spaghetti sauce

1 tsp. garlic powder

1 box of pasta

Place chicken in the crock pot (I put mine in frozen).  Mix in sauce, tomatoes, and garlic.  Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 7/8 hours.  Serve over cooked noodles.

*This can be done as a freezer meal.  Combine all ingredients except noodles in a freezer bag.  When ready to use, thaw overnight the night before.

Vegetable Beef Soup

Beef tips or the meat that you choose. Cook before hand.

1 large can of tomato juice

1 container of beef stock ( I have used chicken before because I was out of beef and it was fine)

Any veggies that you want to add ( I usually do potato chunks, green beans, corn, peas, carrots)

I add one can of crushed tomatoes

Cook on high for 3 hours or low for 6 hours.

Potato Soup

Potatoes:  peeled and diced

Chicken Broth

Heavy Whipping Cream

Optional:

Bacon Bits

Shredded Cheese

Sour Cream

Garlic Powder

Biscuit pieces

Add entire container of chicken broth to the crock pot.  Then add your peeled and diced potatoes.  I also sprinkle with garlic powder.  Cook on high 6-8 hours.  About 2 hours before it's finished, add a container of heavy whipping cream and bacon bits (if you choose).  Top with shredded cheese and sour cream (if you want it have a baked potato taste).  The first time I made this, I added pieces of canned biscuit to give it some dumplings.  It was okay, but I like it better without them.  If you decide to try it with the biscuits, they need to be added at the beginning so they aren't doughy.  When I added them to mine they only cooked about 2 hours and they still had a doughy texture.

Zesty Meatloaf

1 lb. ground beef or turkey (I use turkey)

2 eggs

2 cups bread crumbs

1/4 cup water or apple juice

1 tsp. dry mustard

2 tsp. salt

1 cup ketchup (divided in half)

Combine all ingredients except 1/2 cup of ketchup.  Shape into loaf and place in crock pot.  Spread remaining ketchup over the top.  Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.

Let me know if you give any of these dinners a try and what you think.  And if you still use your crock pot and have some family favorites, I'd love to hear about them.

Happy Friday!
