What's one of the very best parts of the holiday season for parents? Saving money- not only on gifts but on items you need or would normally buy for ar it was. A couple of years ago, my son (the nine-year-old) became crazy brand picky. He narrowed down what he liked to wear to a couple of athletic wear brands, one of them is Nike. Every kiddo needs at least one zip-up hoodie in their wardrobe. My son likes to have a few different ones to choose from, but we stick with basic colors like black, grey, and blue, so he can wear those to school and match with his school uniform dress code. This hoodie is super soft and warm and can be worn on chilly, but not too cold days. I always pack a light hoodie like this one in my son's backpack, so he can wear it in the classroom in case he gets too cool.

I'm always amazed by how quickly my kids outgrow their shoes. My youngest has long arms, legs, and big feet, just like her older brother. While she hasn't completely outgrown toddler sizes in shoes just yet, I know it won't be long before she does, and we'll need to move into little girl sizes. I am going ahead and buying tennis shoes/running shoes for her in larger sizes when I see them on sale. Call me crazy, but I'd rather have the sizes we need when we need them than be stuck with no shoes that fit! These beautiful pink running shoes are on sale for $36.00! That's an even better deal than outlet prices on Nike shoes. These would make a very nice gift for Christmas or it would be great to purchase and put away for later.
Long sleeve shirts are a must this time of year! NC can be warm and cool this time of year, and we always seem to need pieces of clothing that are really easy to layer. We tend to select a size up in tees so they can be worn for more than just one season. Hey, oversized clothing is in style, so why not, right? I like to buy a lot of these types of shirts, both for my big boy, and my little girl. Nike has great deals on long sleeve shirts at Macy's, so stock up on these while you can! The sale makes these just $18.75!
