Adopt And Track An Adorable Sea Turtle With The Sea Turtle Conservancy #MBPHGG19

Thanks to Sea Turtle Conservancy for partnering with me on this post. All thoughts shared are my own.

We've been hearing a lot about sea turtles as of late and for good reason. These precious animals are in danger and while sometimes it feels like there isn't much we can do, the Sea Turtle Conservancy is aiming to help each of us contribute to the well-being of these amazing animals!

Just look at that face!

Sea turtles seem to be universally loved and admired. The journey that each little baby makes into the ocean is a phenomenon that people put on their bucket lists to witness. They are beautiful but also important to our coastal ecosystem. Organizations like the Sea Turtle Conservancy are so important to the continued well-being of sea turtles.

"The Sea Turtle Conservancy, formerly known as the Caribbean Conservation Corporation, is the world’s oldest sea turtle research and conservation group. An international nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization, Sea Turtle Conservancy was founded in 1959 by world-renowned sea turtle expert Dr. Archie Carr to save sea turtles from eminent extinction through rigorous science-based conservation. Headquartered in Florida, the organization carries out worldwide programs to conserve and recover sea turtle populations through research, education, advocacy and protection of the natural habitats upon which depend upon. Over the course of nearly 60 years, Sea Turtle Conservancy’s research programs have yielded much of what is now known about sea turtles and the threats they face, and the organization is applying this knowledge to carry out the world’s most successful sea turtle protection and recovery programs." - Sea Turtle Conservancy

Why Sea Turtles:

STC has chosen sea turtles as the focus of its conservation efforts in part because these ancient creatures are among the most important indicators of the health of the world’s marine and coastal ecosystems. STC believes that whether sea turtles ultimately vanish from the planet or whether they remain a wild and thriving part of the natural world, will speak volumes about both the general health of the planet and the ability of humans to sustainably coexist with the diversity of life on Earth.

If you're wondering how you can help sea turtles, supporting the STC is an amazing way you can contribute to saving these precious creatures. Proper pet turtle care is essential for their health and well-being. Regular veterinary check-ups are important to ensure their overall health. If you have children, I think the absolute best way to get involved is through the STC Adopt-A-Turtle program!

"Become a Member or give a Gift Membership by adopting an endangered sea turtle and supporting Sea Turtle Conservancy's programs focusing on research, education, advocacy and the protection of important habitats. For a donation of $30 ($40 outside the US) or more, you or the person of your choice will receive a personalized adoption certificate, a Sea Turtle Conservation Guide, a membership window cling, a sea turtle sticker and bookmark, a hatchling magnet, and a one-year subscription to STC's membership publication, all in a keepsake sea turtle folder." - STC website

The STC sent both of my little boys their very own adoption kit! They were so excited to adopt a sea turtle and be able to track it as it travels! By visiting the website, you can actually track the whereabouts of your adopted turtle. Bortie Too, pictured above, has traveled over 1200 miles already! The personalized adoption certificate adds such a sweet touch to those who will be adopting a turtle.

There are many ways you can get involved at the STC. Check out a few ways you can help, in your own small way, save the sea turtles: GET INVOLVED.

Perhaps this holiday season you would like to give your loved ones gifts that actually will make a difference in our world. Consider adopting a turtle on behalf of a special person in your life and have this adorable kit sent to them. For just $30, you can make a difference. You may not be down in Florida on the beaches and in the oceans trying to do whatever you can to protect these animals, but you can support an organization like STC that is doing just that.

Let's come together this holiday season and give one another gifts that make a difference in our world! I hope you'll consider supporting STC and helping to save the magnificent sea turtle.

Head over and visit STC on Facebook  and Instagram to show your love and suport! I want to thank our friends at the Sea Turtle Conservancy for partnering with Mommy's Block Party so that we can share with you all about this amazing cause. Together, we can make a difference!

  1. This is so cool. Riverbanks Zoo where I live takes baby turtles in that probably would not live on their own and releases them when they are older. They released a beauty last week and it was so cool to see them take him to the SC coast and set him free.
