This photo was 5 years ago. It doesn't seem like it was that long ago and in the same way it seems like another lifetime ago. Married, but childless we traveled and enjoyed evenings out whenever we wanted. Sleep was a given, not a luxury and our time was spent mostly with friends. In only a decade my life has changed immensely and my views have shifted. It is hard to believe that so much can change even in 5 years. 

10 Years Ago

Look at this! Jon and I took an 18 day road trip out west when I graduated. He had already graduated the year before and planned the most spectacular trip for us. (I will later find out that he has a real knack for planning memorable trips.)

This picture was taken at one of my favorite spots. This is Cadillac Ranch in Texas and yes, it is legal to spray paint these. I weighed less, had fewer worries, and was still enjoying dating Jon. I felt like that road trip was a real test of our relationship and here we are, still going strong. 

5 Years Ago

5 years ago Jon and I had been married for 3 years, had been in our bigger, family home for a year and were taking our last trips before we tried for a baby. We went out to dinner or for drinks on the weekends and had lots of time to ourselves. We traveled and enjoyed each other's company as well as that of our friends. It is so hard to believe I thought I was busy back then and that it was only 5 years ago that I was not yet a mom or knew the love a mother has for her child. My, how life altering a baby can be. 

Today

I am a mother of two wonderful boys, have been married for 8 years, weigh a little more, but have grown ten times more than I ever thought I would. Having children for me, I knew would be life changing, but it has been such a blessing and such a joy, even more than I could ever imagine. I love my babies and cannot believe my oldest turns 4 on Saturday. Where has the time gone? 

Truly. Looking back at these pictures I wonder how time has gone so quickly. The time continues to pass quickly and I'm trying to savor every moment with my littles now and my time at home.
