Celebrate International Learn to Swim Day with SwimWays #LearntoSwimDay

This post was sponsored by SwimWays as part of an Ambassador Program for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.

With just one week of school left, we're certainly counting down to summer break. So far, the month of May has been busy, but has been very good to us. We've had nothing but glorious weather, and the warm temperatures have us itching for days spent by the pool. May is full of fun days to celebrate and larger than life themes, but to me, the one that matters most is National Learn to Swim Day, which happens to be May 18th.

Ever since I became a mom, I have been adamant about keeping all eyes on my kids when in or near water- from the bathtub to pools, and more. I had a less than pleasant experience in a pool as a little girl. I nearly drowned when going down a waterslide with a trusted family member, all because I didn't know how to swim. I was just five or six years old at the time, but if there's one thing I've learned, it's that it's never to early to introduce your kids to learn to swim. After all, it might just save their life at one point or another.

Start them off strong with SwimWays

Our little fishies have been getting their fins wet and staying safe from their first years of life to today, thanks to SwimWays. As a new parent, you might be extra cautious about introducing a baby or toddler to the pool, but I'm here to tell you that the earlier you can do it, the better. My kids have loved the water since they were babies, and as soon as I realized that they were going to drag me into the pool whether I liked it or not, I put on my big girl swimsuit and jumped in, ready to make sure they both had fun, safe experiences in the water.

The very first pool floats we ever used with either of our kids was a SwimWays product. It's just a household name for us, and each season as my kids grow out of what we've used in the past year, I go straight to SwimWays when it's time to size up.

Why SwimWays?

There are so many reasons to love SwimWays, but to me, their dedication to water safety for all is reason enough to want to purchase their products again and again. I credit their amazing pool floats and swim trainers for helping my kids learn to swim and feel comfortable in the water. With tomorrow being International Learn to Swim Day, I want parents everywhere to know the importance of teaching your kids to swim at an early age. And even if you didn't teach your kids to swim when they were really little, it's never too late to teach them.

On a recent trip, we knew our little fishes would want to be in the water, and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to gear up for International Learn to Swim Day. We brought along our SwimWays PawPatrol Swim Trainer for Little Bean, and she could have been more excited to wear it and swim her little heart out. I'll share more about the actual product and how perfect it was and still is for our youngest swimmer in training in another post. We were thrilled to find out that that the characters from Paw Patrol are helping to celebrate during International Learn To Swim Day events around the world! I don't know about your kids, but mine sure do love those pups!

As pools start to open up during the month of May, it's the perfect time to get serious about water safety and celebrate International Learn to Swim Day with SwimWays and all of our awesome families here at Mommy's Block Party. We already have lots of plans to swim during the summer, so now is the time to make sure our kids get safely reacquainted with pools and water safety.

There are lots of wonderful ways to encourage your kids to learn how to become strong and safe swimmers. Start by helping them feel safe in the water with SwimWays products. The Paw Patrol Swim Trainers are perfect for toddlers who are dipping their toes into the pool this summer and trying out their little fins. In fact, this PAW-some swim trainer is Step 2 in the SwimWays Swim Step Program. It will help keep your sweet little one safe and help them feel comfortable in the water. It's even US Coast Guard approved! Doesn't that make you feel good to know?
