Happy Saturday, friends! Last weekend we were on a mini vacation and there were some parts of the trip that had me feeling really nostalgic for how I grew up in the 1980s and 1990s. I like how much is available to the girls (and Matt and I, of course) now, but I often feel that D and R are getting some sort of raw deal with the way they are growing up versus the way their father and I grew up. 

So, I came up with an idea!

Nostalgia had already kicked in once we had decided that we would be visiting New Hampshire since I remember car rides with my parents and sisters to visit our cousins in Concord, but between the game room at the hotel and the little handheld games the girls had for the car ride, I was wishing for a time machine so that they could experience a day in the life of a kid in the 80s/90s.

I have been daydreaming all week about how great it would be to give our kids that experience and then it dawned on me, we don't need a time machine to do it. We simply need to "unplug" from what we have become accustomed to (internet/wifi, cell phones, streaming services, the DVR, etc) and head to the roller rink, bring out the old school NES, play some board games, play some card games, and maybe even watch a show on television in real time! 

So, this weekend, the Wigglesworth crew will be unplugging from the conveniences of today but plugging into what really matters- experiencing new (to some of us) things and making memories to last a lifetime.
