Exploring New England: Family Trip Fun

Happy Thursday, friends! This time last week, I was discretely packing bags for our trip and today I'm packing lunch bags and spending some extra time with the girls since we have a 2 hour delayed opening today. I feel like I need to reminisce since the vacation was much better.

I got some input from friends and someone suggested New Hampshire. We ended up not going to the same area that was suggested, but we did decide to head to New Hampshire since we wanted to stay in the New England area, but definitely leave Connecticut for a bit. It was a nice change of pace and we all had a great time exploring an area that we haven't been to before.

We ended up in the Bedford/Manchester area for our stay. Friday, we arrived at the hotel in the evening and found a nice place, called T-Bones, for dinner. The food was great and our waitress, Jessica, was really wonderful. After dinner, since it was pretty late, we decided to settle in for the night and go exploring the next day.

On Saturday, we visited the See Science Center. We had a great time here. D was a little bored at first, since the upper level seemed to be geared toward younger ones, but the lower level definitely caught her interest. We had hoped to visit the Millyard as well since it's in the same building, but hunger won out and we left for a late lunch.

One of our favorite parts of the See Science Center was the colored shadows exhibit.

After lunch, it was back to the hotel. We explored the hotel's arcade room and checked the pool, but it was pretty busy. We hung out in the room for a bit and decided to ask about local entertainment. The front desk clerk offered some great ideas, but we decided to check out what the internet had to say and decided to check out a local bowling alley. The girls LOVED it here. Bowling was fun and afterward, they got to play in the arcade area and win some tickets for prizes.

Once we got back to the hotel, the pool was still really busy, but we checked it out anyway. I'm glad that we did since the pool was part of the reason we booked the hotel, but I really wish the hotel staff had been a little more alert as to what was going on in that area. It got pretty rowdy and I know some other customers had already complained, but I'm not sure there was ever a resolution as we left long before the rowdy party members did. This is the only complaint I have of our stay.
