Happy Saturday and first weekend of February, friends! We are officially into our second month of the year and I'm looking forward to it for one very specific reason, and no I'm not entirely referring to Valentine's Day.
This year, for the first time that I can remember, the girls will have a 4 day weekend starting the day after Valentine's Day and we are planning a short trip away! Today Matt and I will (hopefully) have the chance to wrap up our plans, but we're going to have to be super discreet, because like our Florida Trip last April, we are working on keeping this trip a surprise as well.
4 days isn't exactly long enough for another Florida visit, so we've been looking at places much closer to us. The only downside is how cold it is up here in the New England area, so any trips involoving too much outdoor fun, just aren't happening.
Aside from our planning, there isn't too much going on for today. I've been trying to work on a room a day to find things that we can part with, so that each room doesn't look like a tornado has gone through it. We worked on the living room on Thursday, the kitchen yesterday, and I'm thinking I may brave the dining room today. For some reason, this room tends to function more as the family dumping ground versus where we sit to eat our meals. I work on it multiple times a year, and it always ends up looking a mess again. We just have too much stuff!

One time, we spent the weekend in a hotel with an indoor pool. The kids felt like it was a vacay and it was only 40 minutes from home.
