In the spirit of the start of the new year and 'resolutions,' I've made a promise to myself to be more organized this year. The main area of my life which suffers the most from my inability to keep everything straight is my work life. The strange thing is, this is the area of my life that I actually have the most control over. I'm my own boss, for the most part. Toting work back and forth between a shared co-working office space and home every day sometimes adds to the chaos. Not being able to set up shop and leave my belongings 'at work' causes me to wish I hadn't left 'such and such' at home. Been there? I know I'm not the only one who deals with this on a daily basis.

During the holiday season, I shared some awesome gifts ideas from Organization by Kacy, which happened to be amazing totes from one of my favorite companies, Thirty-One Gifts. One of these days (though probably not anytime soon), I'll stop talking about Konmari non-stop, but for now, I am all for organizing every area of my life- from home to my workspace, and everything in between. Wintertime is actually the perfect time to get a plan together and get organized. The holidays are over, everyone is back to work/school, and there are no major breaks until the spring to disrupt your efforts.

The Cindy Tote by Thirty-One Gifts ($72.00)

One of my absolute favorite Thirty-One totes of all time is this cute, practical bag, the Cindy Tote. The Cindy Tote was named for the founder of Thirty-One, and is the mother of all tote bags! I wouldn't go so far as to say that this tote is huge, but it's fairly large, and incredibly spacious inside. It far surpasses any other tote I own as far as functionality goes. I love this tote for a lot of reasons. It's durable, but extremely lightweight and easy to carry. The shoulder straps are non-slip, so the tote doesn't slide down my shoulder when I'm walking with it. It has lots of interior pockets, and deep exterior pockets, so I can carry all the things!

So much room inside!

The inside of the Cindy Tote is awesome! First of all- I can wipe the inside clean with a damp cloth. There's room for my laptop in here, which means that I can ditch my laptop bag (which is old, clunky, and uncomfortable to carry), and use this one bag to tote all of my things to work with me. There are open pockets which hold items like pens, notepads (because I am a list-maker), hand sanitizer, and anything else I like to bring along to work with me. There's also a zip pocket for storing small items. The two exterior pockets are on the sides of the tote, and are just the right size for my water bottle and thermal coffee cup. Now I can tote everything back to my car, and be hands-free, which makes me feel much safer and less distracted.

Done with work for the day, and heading home with my stylish Cindy Tote.

A cute and compact little tote to hold all the little things, the Littles Carry-All Caddy is a classic Thirty-One Gifts product ($14.00).

Another favorite Thirty-One product is the Littles Carry-All Caddy. This is one of those standard Thirty-One products that has been around for many years, and just keeps getting cuter! I love this little caddy! It's a square tiny tote with a short, easy to grab handle, and allows you to store or carry along little things. Kacy was super sweet and personalized this caddy with 'Mommy's Block Party,' making it perfect for me to use for work!

How am I using it?

I actually bring this little caddy to work with me every day, in my Cindy Tote (told ya that tote was roomy!). It's absolutely perfect to use as a pen and note-pad holder! I also keep other tiny items in there, like hand sanitizer, a couple of band-aids, ibuprofen, chapstick, etc. This way, I can keep the items within reach at my desk, without having to have everything out in plain sight, and can quickly put it in my Cindy Tote and take it home at the end of the day. Perfect!

We also have a Littles Carry-All Caddy at home, and use it to hold loose items at my hubby's desk, like tape, pens, sticky notes, and a measuring tape.
