When I was a little girl, my sister and I had a very special Christmas tradition with our dad. Every year, he would take us to a department store and buy each of us a fancy new dress to wear to church on Christmas Eve. I've loved Christmas Eve so much, ever since. With my own children, I try to carry over some of the same traditions that I had with my parents when I was growing up. I love to dress them in new outfits for Christmas Eve and holiday gatherings, those they both detest shopping of any kind.

Luckily, I don't have to drag my sweet girl out in the rain or cold to find her the perfect holiday outfits. My friend Amie Wargo just so happens to be a Trunk Keeper with Matilda Jane and is always keeping me in the loop about the latest MJ releases. Their 2018 Holiday Catalog is absolutely incredible, and Amie sent us a few looks to try for our holiday parties, and special church services and events this holiday season. I have three gorgeous looks to show you, and I'll say right off the bat, I don't know that I have a favorite, because they're all so incredibly beautiful!

A Christmas Eve Dress to Remember

If there's a Christmas dress to fall in love with, this is the one! I love everything about it, from the soft and lush top to the beautifully patterned skirt! If you haven't noticed, velvet and velour are back this season, and it's been everywhere! Matilda Jane has worked the material into several designs, especially for the holidays.

This sweet dress features a green velour bodice. It's so soft and buttery! The sleeves are a stretchy half sleeve with ruching at the elbow. The gorgeous patterned skirt features two beautiful designs, highlighting reds and greens in a most playful, yet regal way. 

This is the look we've chosen to set aside for Christmas Eve. It reminds me of the blue velvet dresses my mom made for me and my sister when we were little. I absolutely love this style, and of course, my Bean feels like a princess in this dress!

Christmas Programs Galore!

Jolly Holiday Dress, ($58.00, Matilda Jane)

Another style that's perfect for Christmas Eve or all of those holiday concerts, plays and programs your sweet little is bound to be a part of, is the Jolly Holiday Dress! This is my choice of dress for Bean's school Christmas program, as well as our service of lessons and carols at church. It's comfy and easy for her to wear and move in, with its stretchy sleeves and bodice, and has a lot going on from the waist down, which makes it adorably eye-catching!

I love the fun and funky mix of colors and patterns in this dress. The top features red dots with a deeper, almost burgundy sleeve. There are four patterns mixed on the skirt, a mix of plaid and florals. This dress was inspired by wreaths- isn't that a neat tidbit? It looks adorable with or without leggings (you can mix and match lots of MJ leggings with any of these sweet holiday dresses), or you can wear it with tights.

All Decked Out for Holiday Parties

Most Wonderful Time Top with Tinsel Ruffle Leggings

Y'all... I don't normally Ooh and Aah so much over the cuteness of my little girl, but look at her in this outfit! The sweetness! The sass! The holiday flair! I can't handle it- just so darn cute! This is the holiday party outfit of your dreams. Seriously- can I just get this set in a grown-up size, please?

Most Wonderful Time Top

This top is adorbs! I love the floral print overall. Green is one of my favorite colors to wear, and it shouldn't surprise me that Bean also wears it well. The sweet dotted ruffle fabric across the chest and arms give this top an added layer of sweetness. It's a stretchy top, made of cotton spandex, and can be worn with everything from MJ leggings to jeans for a holiday look all her own. We're wearing this outfit to holiday parties, dinners with friends, and Bean will probably wear this sweet top on Christmas Day as we make the rounds to be with family. She'll look festive and she'll be comfy all day in this adorable top.

Tinsel Ruffle Leggings

So sassy! So fancy! Your little girl is going to feel so 'extra' in these leggings! I saw some grown-up velour leggings and wondered if I could pull them off for the holidays. I decided against them, but can live vicariously through Bean as she wears these adorable ruffled velour leggings with her holiday dresses and tops! They are made from a soft green velour and are super stretchy and comfy, which means they can be worn all day with no problem. Each side has three ruffles above the ankle, and is topped with a sweet red bow!

So much to love about Matilda Jane!
