I never really pegged my husband as the type of guy who would wind up with a collection of accessories as extensive as my own. Okay, I may be exaggerating a little bit, but in recent years, my hubby has come to discover that he enjoys collecting watches, cufflinks, tie tacks, and other men's accessories. A few years ago, we picked out a handsome jewelry box for him so he would have a nice place to store and preserve his watches and other accessories. This holiday season, I've been keeping my eye out for unique men's watches and accessories, and I found a handsome and rugged watch that I think he's really going to love.

Wooden watches are so incredibly unique, and the neat thing about them is that no two are ever exactly the same. When my husband and I first discovered wooden watches making their way onto the scene a few years ago, my husband was immediately drawn to the concept of a wooden watch, but wanted one that was nice looking, functional, practical, and of course, comfortable to wear.

While Tmbr. offers an array of handsome watches for men, I wanted to find one that would be lightweight that my hubs could wear comfortably all day. I was drawn to The Burly for its sleek and simple design, as well as the lighter, thinner strap options.

The watch face is so stunning! It's a black sandalwood watch with Japanese quartz movement that is protected by a scratch and impact-resistant mineral glass. This was actually a huge deciding factor for me when choosing this watch, and this brand. Our two-year-old daughter has a tendency to knock my husband's glasses off of his face, as well as his watches off of his wrists. We've had lots of dings, scratches, and so on in his eyewear and accessories. With this scratch resistant mineral glass, I feel a little safer in knowing that the watch will be better protected than most others.

Another plus of The Burly is that you have some really nice strap options with this. You can choose a tan leather strap or green or black canvas. I opted for the black canvas. Keep in mind that I previously mentioned wanting something lighter for all-day wear comfort. All of my hubby's other watches have clunky straps, which make his wrist feel weighed down. This one is so light, he can wear it all day with no problem.
