The possibility of there being a fire in our home is frightening. Each night before I go to sleep, I double check and make sure that the stove burners are turned off. I also remove anything that has been placed on the stove top, other than the tea kettle. I make sure that any candles that may have been burning are completely snuffed out. I also check to make sure that plugs are secure in their corresponding outlets and that there are no pieces of cloth anywhere near them.
