I never really understood the phrase, 'I don't have time to get sick' until I became a parent. Using Amwell recently saved me time. It's so convenient to meet with a doctor on your own schedule, without having to leave the house. I recently had a lot of tension in my neck, back and shoulder. It was so bad one morning when I woke up, that I could barely turn my head to one side, and I was in a lot of pain. I had a suspicion that the pain was caused from constant leaning over when nursing Baby S, but I needed to know safe remedies, since there are a lot of medicines you can't take when breastfeeding.

I hopped on my laptop and connected with a doctor through Amwell. It was so easy to set up an account. I simply entered my information, and answered a few questions about my medical history and pharmacy preference. Once that was all set, I entered payment info and was connected with a local provider. Within just minutes, I was chatting privately with a lisenced doctor about my sore neck and shoulder. The visit was very pleasant, and I felt super at ease, since I was in the comfort of my own home. The doctor's office sometimes makes me nervous.

My doctor's visit was thorough, yet fast. I was given the advice to alternate heat and cold packs on the sore areas, and to take Ibuprophen as needed. I was even given the option to have a prescription called in, but opted not to, since I had prescription Tylenol leftover from my recent surgery. With the medicine and the hot/cold treatment, the pain subsided within a few days and I have been back to normal ever since.
