I think this is an adorable story! It would be SO cute to give to a grandchild to get them excited for a first sleepover at Grandma & Grandpa's house, or any sleepover there after! Make an exciting weekend out of it! My kids LOVE to go stay the night at my mom and dad's house. It doesn't take much to make them happy. There doesn't have to be big plans! Just some simple fun and NaNa & PaPa time =) If you have a grandchild that is maybe scared to do a sleepover, I think that Flash the Firefly would be a great treat to help them out!
I like how on the 2nd page it goes into detail about how grandparents have all sorts of different names! Grandma, Grandpa, Gi-Gi, Paw-Paw, Me-Maw and Pop for example. It opens it up to make the book not just for a Nana and Papa!!! When reading the story to your grandchild, it makes it easy to replace your name with Nana and Papa.

I absolutely LOVE the pages where you and your child (grandchild) can fill in the pages! What a fun keepsake to have of slumber parties at your grandparents house!!
One of my favorite things I remember about my childhood is staying the night at my Grandma and Grandpa's house with my cousins! We used to have all sorts of adventures and fun! Now that I am grown, and both my grandparents have passed away, I would absolutely treasure a book like this filled out in their handwriting and my handwriting as a child! Wouldn't that be an amazing thing to have???

The Nanas and Papas are new to me! I will have to mention their names it to one of my Great Grandchildren~ They probably know about them! Lol! They sure are cute though!!
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I don't have any Memories at all of Nana and Papa stories!! I am thinking that maybe the came out after my childhood! I was born in 1946..We used to have a lot of Goldrn Books that we loved and definitely comic Books!!Paper Dolls!!

ReplyDeleteWe didn't have any Nana and Popa Stories when I was a little Girl!! We had Dick & Jane and See Spot Run! lol! That's the Truth!!That was our first books. Things were so different back then!Nana and Papa stories do look like cute stories! :)
