During the late fall and winter months, we tend to get a lot of rain. Every now and then, the temps will drop down low, and it will be way too cold to go out and play. On the rare occasion, we might even see snow or ice. Long story short, it's usually too wet, cold or yucky to go outside and play. When you have children, a series of yucky days can make for a very long week, and everyone becomes a bit bored, and maybe even cranky when the sun isn't shining, or when you can't go outside. One of our favorite children's toy companies sent us such a cool indoor game, and it's guaranteed to help you and your kiddos beat the winter blues!

This holiday season, we were sent the Wonder Golf indoor golf set!

B is five years old, and he absolutely loves miniature golf (or 'putt-putt, as we sometimes call it in the South). Mini golf is one of his favorite activities when we go to the beach, and there really aren't many family fun centers in our area which offer outdoor mini golf anymore. The Wonder Golf set from HearthSong is a fabulous alternative, because it gives you everything you need to allow your little one(s) to play mini golf at home, and indoors!

This is such a cute mini golf set! It's geared toward ages 4+, so it's perfect for little ones, but it's also perfect for older children, like mine. The golf mat doesn't take up a lot of room, which is perfect for us, because we don't have a ton of extra floor space. It also lays flat, and is pretty compact, which is great, because that means that we can bring it along when we go on vacation. It's great to have things like this to play with in case of a rainy day at the beach!

The Wonder Golf set comes with five cute little wooden flags.

The flags are inserted into the little pegs, marking the holes.

The goal is to try to match the colored balls to their corresponding flags/holes.

There is a foam tray included with the game set, which helps keep the balls from rolling away, as they wait for their turn.

...and it comes with an extender, to make it longer for older children, like B.

The bottom of the golf set has little stoppers on the stands, to keep the golf set from sliding out of place.

The golf mat is made of a soft, felt-like material. It's very thin and flexible. The rest of the pieces of this golf set are wooden- so this is a natural toy. It's a great way for the little ones to work on their motor skill development, and it's also a great way for older kids to practice their skills and learn discipline through practicing.

I love this little golf set, and I know that B is going to jump for joy when he's able to play with it! It's going to be so nice for us to be able to play golf indoors this winter, when we can't go out to play. It's the type of thing that will keep him active, and entertained for a long time, and something that we can play with together. In a few years, it'll be Baby S' turn to play with it, and since it's made from wood, I fully expect it to hold up well through the years.
