Where it Started

A combination of Deb’s love for fashion and her fiercely practical nature led to the creation of Hugrz™ boot wraps. Freezing cold in a hockey rink, she realized her pretty leather boots were not going to cut it. Deb hit the internet and started her search for some very warm sheepskin boots. She loved the ones with fur. She loved the ones with sweater knit accents, but could not decide on just one style ---after all, she’d be wearing them almost every day. It was then that her idea for convertible fashion for boots was born. She set to work on patterns, materials, and accessories to create something that would look like part of the boot, not a leg warmer on top of it. After months of research and proto-types, she had it.

Deb was previously a PR director and not- for-profit fundraiser who then discovered her true passion was for design. She had no experience building a company, but she threw herself into it and learned everything she could. By the fall of 2010, she was ready to introduce Hugrz™ to the market. She started in metro-Detroit and online, and then branched out to the rest of the nation in the fall of 2011. In 4 short months, Hugrz™ could be found in over 100 retailers in the USA as well as Austria and Canada. This year, you will find Hugrz™ in more than 160 stores in the USA, as well as an expanding number overseas.

Now, you can buy one pair of great boots and change the look with Hugrz™ boot wraps and accessories. Wear them scrunched down on short boots, pulled up on tall boots, or pulled up on your legs to make your short boots look tall! Make them even more your own by switching out the accessories. While they were originally designed for the various shearling boots, they look great on many styles, including heels, little booties and even cowboy boots! Just make sure to use the pretty crisscross lacing to make them fit just right on slim or smooth leather boots, or on your legs.

What Kinds Of Boots Work With Hugrz™ Boot Wraps?

Shearling/Sheep Skin Boots
Hugrz™ boot wraps fit over all of the shearling boots (adult size 5-10) with a top circumfrence of up to 16 inches and a height of 8 to 13 inches. You can wear them "scrunched" on short boots, or pulled up on your leg to make short boots look tall. Just like your favorite pair of jeans, your Hugrz™ boot wraps may be a little "snug" at first. They can stretch a bit to fit your boots just right!

Heels, Rain Boots, Booties, Smooth Leather Boots

Hugrz™ boot wraps look great on many styles of boots. To wear on slim fitting boots, smooth leather boots, or little booties, please use the crisscross lacing sold in the accessories catagory to make sure they cinch to fit just right on your boot or your leg.

How Do I Put These Things On?

Your Hugrz™ boot wraps have a top and a bottom. The top is where you will find the tag on the outside, or a button attached. Slide your hand through the Hugrz™ boot wraps, from the top opening to the bottom; grab the top of the leg of your boot and squeeze it together in your hand and then slide the boot into the Hugrz™ boot wraps. Position however you want on the boot.

The accessories are key to personalizing your look! They can be hung from, or attached to the button on the boot wrap.

How Do I Care For My Beautiful Boot Wraps?

Hugrz™ boot wraps can be hand washed and laid flat to dry, or dry cleaned. They can be exposed to minimum amounts of rain and snow, but they are not designed for inclement-weather use. Treat them with care.

What Are Hugrz™ Boot Wraps Made Of?

The Aspen collection of Hugrz™ boot wraps from all-synthetic faux fur. A small amount of "shedding" may occur when your Hugrz™ boot wraps are new, but will go away after a few uses. The Bennington and Santa Fe collections are either a cotton/poly blend or 100% acrylic.

How Do I Pay For My Hugrz™ and Accessories?

How Will My Hugrz™ and Accessories Be Shipped?

Shipping rates are calculated on the actual weight of your order and the method of delivery you choose. Made in the USA

From the very start, Deb has been dedicated to having the products made in the United States. It was very important to create a quality American product and help create American jobs Though she ran into some snags along the way, she has been able to keep the majority of the products made in the USA. She is still on a quest for high quality faux fur, beads, feathers, and faux suede made here. Currently, the faux fur material is imported and then cut and sewn in Michigan. Some of the accessories are also made overseas. The pompoms and most of the crisscross lacing can be made here, and are actually hand made by some folks that are not able to easily leave their homes to work. As a matter of fact, 2 families pulled their homes out of foreclosure last year with those earnings. There is no profit for the company in that accessory, but there is an important contribution to the community. As we grow, Hugrz™ hopes to collaborate with other companies that use these materials and re-build a manufacturing base in America.
