DIY Rag Flip Flops Project

Grab a pair of flip flops and some scrap material and bring new life and/or tons of color to your feet! You can make these in any color/theme you want... our go to every year is purple and gold, our school colors. My girls are die hard Brickies... and a pair of Brickie flip flops is a must every year! We all have several pairs, adult to kids!

Check out the possibilities!

All you need is a pair of flip flops, a pair of scissors, and some material. If you are going out to buy material, you will need about 1/4 yard for an adult pair.. slightly less for a kids pair. while you can use the super cheap dollar store flip flops, they tend to not last super long with the weight on the straps. I try to use Old Navy brand as they are cheaper, but super sturdy!

Lay out your material and cut it into strips. I cut the strips about 1 inch x 10 inches. this does not have to be precise though!!! you can cut thicker or longer or shorter, it all depends on how you like them to look!!

Then take the strips and start tying them around the flip flops. I start at the bottom and work  my way to the top. Make sure to double knot each strip. Smoosh the strips together tight for a fluffier look.

Aren't they adorable!?

Perfect spirit accessories!

That is it!! cut strips, and double tie them to the flip flops... the outcome is ADORABLE, and we got a bazillion compliments every time we wear them! Super fun for holidays like 4th of July, sports team colors, and to match favorite outfits.

I hope you'll give this super easy, super fun project a try this summer! We'd love to see your photos of finished projects! Post them to Instagram and tag us- @MommysBlckParty!

Have fun!
