Say Goodbye to the Bulky Beach Towel: Cuddlefish Towel Co. #Review + #Giveaway

When I began packing for our recent beach vacation, I was almost immediately overwhelmed by all of the 'stuff' we needed to bring along. Packing for the beach takes extra effort, because along with the usual items you'd want to bring along on a family trip, you also have to bring beach supplies- towels, umbrellas, chairs, beach toys, etc. I tried to pack as lightly as possible, but knew that I needed to pack enough towels and sunscreen for our family of three. My beach bag was filled to the brim- the most room taken up by bulky beach towels. We've been taking B to the beach on week-long vacations since he was just a little guy, and all the while, I have longed to have lighter loads in tow!

Since our beach towels wind up taking up so much room when we head to the coast, I was in search of an alternative. I was introduced to Cuddlefish Towel Company, which specializes in lightweight towels for the beach and pool. Cuddlefish Towel Company was founded by four women, three of whom are sisters- Caroline, Roberta, and Georgia, and friend Mary. Carolina lives in Naples, Italy, where microfiber beach towels are very popular. When visiting RI, she introduced the other three gals to the thin microfiber towel, and they fell in love with their performance and design. So, the four set out on their own business venture, bringing their own towel design to life, through their company, Cuddlefish Towel Co. Their towels are cute, and lightweight- easy to pack and carry, and are perfect for everything from the beach or pool to yoga class!

I was thrilled for the opportunity to try out a Cuddlefish Towel on our trip to the beach. I selected the anchor design for B, and he loved having his own special beach towel that didn't take up tons of space, or make him feel too hot when wrapped up in it.

The Cuddlefish Towel worked great for us! It was light enough to just throw over a beach chair, and sit on, or to easily spread out on the sand. B could even carry it from the beach house to our spot on the sand by himself, which was a big help!

The Cuddlefish Towels are super lightweight!

A regular beach towel is about 4x as bulky as a Cuddlefish Towel. When spread out, the Cuddlefish Towel is just a tad bit thicker than a sheet! You may be wondering how on earth a towel so thin could even dry someone off? Let me tell you- B was able to dry off faster than hubby or myself, in our regular old beach towels. The microfiber technology just wicks away the moisture, unlike our old towels, which become sopping wet and super heavy.

Not only did the Cuddlefish Towel dry quickly, it wrapped around B easily, and he was able to wear it as he walked back up to the beach house. It did slip off one time, but it was no big deal to give it a quick shake- all of the sand bits just flew off. If that had happened with a regular towel, we wouldn't have been able to wrap that same towel back around B. It would have been covered in wet sand.

When we hung the towels up to dry at the end of each day spent out on the beach, the Cuddlefish Towel was fully dry in 20 minutes or less, even when totally wet. Each Cuddlefish Towel has a hanging loop sewn to the back side, so you can easily hang it up on a hook to dry.
