A Personalized Gift for Easter: Lost My Name Book #Review + #Giveaway

With Easter just around the corner, I have been in search of sweet, meaningful Easter basket gifts. I don't mind adding a couple of sweet treats to the basket for B, but the last thing I want to do is overload him with a ton of sugar. With B in preschool, we're doing a ton of prep for Kindergarten (which is still another school year off for us), which means that we are doing a lot of reading. B absolutely loves to read, and loves to be read to. One of the highlights of story time, though, is when B is actually included in the story in some way, shape or form, which is why we love personalized children's books, like Lost My Name.

Lost My Name is a wonderful personalized children's book, which was dreamed up by three dads and an uncle (as a DIY project), who worked to create a magical journey for children embark on, after waking up one morning to find their names had been lost! The team at Lost My Name took a look at the UK census, which had over 14,000 names on it, and realized that in order to create a personalized book for each name, they would have to create many different stories, and over 200 illustrations! So they created, and it became quite the labor of love! Lost My Name is available for boys and girls, and is personalized to include your child's name. After Lost My Name went public, and the reaction was amazing. People loved it, their kids loved it, everyone loved it. And because their customers are AMAZING, they told their friends and family about it. Which meant that pretty soon, it changed again.

Today Lost My Name is a funded storytelling and technology start up, with 30 people and counting – and huuuuge ambitions. Lost My Name believes that the future of entertainment is personalised, and they want to lead it.

We were given the wonderful opportunity to team up with Lost My Name, and I was able to create a book for B, The Boy Who Lost His Name. Ordering the book couldn't have been easier! I simply went to the Lost My Name website, where I was prompted to type in B's name, and then select the child's gender. I then clicked on 'Create my book,' added my shipping info, and in less than two weeks, had a beautiful personalized book for B at my door.

We were so excited to find The Boy Who Lost His Name book, with a special bedtime magic guide!

The cover art for The Little Boy Who Lost His Name is beautiful, and as son as B saw it, he wanted to pick it up and thumb through it.

We were able to include a personalized message to B in this special book!

We flipped through the book to become acquainted with some of the characters of the book. The story starts off with a little boy, who wakes up one morning to find that he has lost his name! He goes on a magical journey and meets all sorts of magical creatures, who give him the letters to spell his name.

We first met a sweet bear, who gave the letter 'B' to the boy.

Along the way, we met many other wonderful creatures, and enjoyed absolutely stunning illustrations! B was so excited each time we were introduced to a new creature, and he couldn't wait to see if they would indeed give the little boy the next letters in his name!

We met an Imp, who kindly gave the little boy the letter 'I' for his name.

I loved that this story included an Imp- because my dad has been calling B a little imp since he just just a little guy! This part of the story put a big smile on my face, and made us think of Papa! The imp was known for being naughty, rude, and all around bad- but he was very kind to the little boy, and generously gave up the letter 'I.'

Another interesting character we met along the way- a Nabarlek, which looks like a tiny kangaroo!

At the end of his journey, the little boy was amazed by all of the creatures he had met. B was also becomming sleepy when we read this story before bed, but not too tired to excitedly find that the letters of his name had been collected by the little boy, and were laid out on the page before us.

B couldn't have been happier to learn that he was the little boy on the journey all along. We spelled his name together, and then he wanted to go back to the page with the Aardvark on it, which gave B the first letter 'A' for his name. He loved meeting all of the wonderful creatures that appeared in the personalized story that was written for B, and just had to go back and re-visit his favorites! B thought it was awfully nice of the creatures and animals to give up their first letters of their names, so that B could have his name back!

The Boy Who Lost His Name is a charming, magical adventure for boys of all ages, and I'm sure the same can be said of The Girl Who Lost Her Name. This book has become very special to us, one of our favorites to read before bedtime, and share with our loved ones. It's a story that we're sure to read many times over through the years.
