A First of Its Kind: Meal Enders {Review and Giveaway}

Sometimes when working with companies and people, you find new products that they can't wait to share with you. That happens to us quite a bit at MBP and recently to me. I was working with a super friendly PR consultant and one company (keep your eyes out for that review coming soon), when she asked if I would be up for trying out a sample from another client of hers. I happily agreed after checking out the product online.

I had never seen a product quite like this one and was very intrigued by what it offered. I know my weight is at a pretty good point, but eating for me can sometimes be more of the snacking variety, which happens really when I am not even hungry. This is not a good combination and can lead to unnecessary pounds, not what I am looking to add.
MealEnders was founded by a man, Mark, who was facing the same weight struggles many of us do as we grow older. He would still feel hungry after a meal and continue to eat, not knowing when to end his meal or avoid unnecessary snacks, leading to weight gain. After some health issues, Mark was looking for a way to help stop his overeating and get back on track.

During his search, he tried to find something that would help curb the urge to eat and help with portion control. After speaking with many experts he found that nothing really existed to meet his hopes, so he set out to create one. With the help of a leading food development firm, Mark created MealEnders, a first of its kind, food based product, that would help curb overeating and master portion control by clearing cravings from the mouth and mind while also working with the body's natural hunger and fullness rhythms.

MealEnders are food based, making them regulated by the FDA as a food product. They are safe, non addictive, "signaling lozenges", that are only 15 calories each with just 2 grams of sugar. They contain no drugs, added stimulants, herbs, or toxic ingredients and are gluten free and kosher. The lozenges are made up of two components, a sweet outer layer and a cooling inner core. Our brain takes 20 minutes to receive the signal from our digestive track that we are full, the MealEnders signaling lozenges are the perfect natural solution because the outer layer provides the "dessert" to signal a meal's end, and the inner core engages nerves, clears the palate, and lingers on the tongue for around 20 minutes.

I was excited to try them out, because they really were speaking to what my prime troubles were, eating unnecessarily and gaining unwanted pounds.

Mocha

Cinnamon

I shared the Mocha and Cinnamon packages with my best friend. She was very interested in trying them out, as she is always having the same weight battle I am, we love food too much sometimes. These lozenges promise to keep your mouth and mind occupied for up to 20 minutes, so your body can naturally process being full.

Jess tried her first MealEnders right away, using it as soon as she felt comfortably full after her meal.
She noticed the outer dessert layer was tasty and enjoyable. This is a great way to signal to your brain that the meal is over, while still providing a sweet end. This layer is meant to be savored, enjoyed, the sweet finish to your meal. Jess did appreciate the outer layer of flavors. After the sweet layer is the inner core, which took her for a bit of a surprise. It is a tingly sensation that wasn't exactly what she was expecting after the sweet start. She could tell an immediate difference in the layers and also noticed her taste buds were responding to the lozenge. Overall she felt the lozenge did offer the dual layer of tastes and help fill that scary 20 minute gap for the brain to realize the stomach is full.

I kept the Chocolate Mint and Citrus for myself.

I am always hesitant to take anything that claims to help with weight control. So many products contain yucky stuff that our bodies are not meant to consume. I was pleased to see that MealEnders did not claim to have any of the yuck that I have seen in other things. It really isn't a diet product, so don't expect to "lose pounds" just by taking them after meals and for best results, follow a healthy diet and exercise. These lozenges are meant to help curb cravings by teaching your brain and digestive tract to follow cues.

There are 25 lozenges in each package. They retail for around $15 a bag and come in the four flavors I was sent.
They look like a chocolate covered raisin
The outer layer is very soft and I enjoyed both the citrus and chocolate mint, chocolate mint was my favorite though. I agree that the outer layer is very pleasant and enjoyable, that little bit I need after dinner or lunch. The inner core is a harder chunk and you can immediately feel the tingling and cooling effect, almost like a really strong toothpaste feeling in your mouth. After I finish the MealEnders, I do not have the urge to eat, my palate feels clear and my brain does not say, grab another bite of something. These also make the perfect thing to grab when I am in a mid day snacking mode, when I am not truly hungry but grazing through our snacks.

MealEnders are a very first of its kind product, that does seem to do what it claims. This is not a diet program, these are signaling lozenges to help your brain and digestive system work together to help curb cravings. I have found other reviews and everyone seems to have had the same experience I did, they really seem to work. I recommend them to people who are looking for that little something to help them keep on track.
