Christmas is just around the corner, and I am so happy to say that we are nearly finished with our Christmas shopping. The longer we wait to do our shopping, the more stressed I become. I am the type of person who likes to be finished with holiday shopping right after Thanksgiving, if the budget allows. This year, we've had to stagger our shopping a bit, and we're also faced with some new Christmas shopping challenges. Our son is four years old, and for the first time, he has made his own Christmas list. He knows exactly what he wants, and he is really hoping for Santa to be good to him this year.

Over the weekend, we were able to head to a Walmart store near us, to check out their Holiday Toyland Event! There were a few displays set up in the store, and B was able to check out and play with some of the very toys that were on his Christmas list!

We walked up and down the aisles at the Walmart, and I was thrilled that the shelves were well stocked, and everything seemed well organized. There were a lot of store employees around, re-stocking toys, and making the shelves neat and tidy. This is always helpful when you're shopping- being able to quickly and easily find what you need.

Walmart has so many incredible gift options- truly the best holiday toys, chosen by kids, at incredibly low prices. We came across the MEGA Bloks, and B was immediately drawn to the First Builders Sets. He was able to select a set, all on his own, and couldn't wait to get it home to play with it!

B was totally into the race cars that came with this particular set, and I was totally into the price for $19.97.

MEGA Bloks have been a trusted building and construction toy for children, for over 25 years. MEGA Bloks is a brand that we adore, and put our trust in- and B has been enjoying MEGA Blok toys since he was about one year old. MEGA Bloks First Builders Sets are safe and intended for ages 1-5. We already had a Mega Bloks table and blocks at home, and were thrilled that this First Builders set would work with those, because that would just add to the creativity and fun of this product!

When we got home with our new Mega Bloks First Builders Fast Tracks Raceway, B couldn't wait to get the 50 pieces out of the box, and start building!

I was happy to see that instructions were included with the set. My husband commented that anyone could put the racing ramps included with this Mega Bloks set together, but I always prefer to go with instructions, rather than my own instincts, when it comes to putting something together. We dumped all of the pieces onto the floor, and the boys got to building!

My husband was also immediately drawn to the 2 race cars that came with this set, because they have interchangeable pieces!

B couldn't wait to get the race ramp set up and start racing those race cars!

Of course, you could use your imagination and build just about anything you'd like with this awesome set of colorful blocks, however, my little guy is a stickler for following the rules, and the photos on the product packages, so he insisted that it be put together correctly.

The set included four of these raceway pieces. When connected, and placed side by side, the cars can race down these ramps!

It look less than ten minutes to place all of the cute sticker on the block pieces, and for hubby and B to build the entire raceway. In no time, B was ready to get those cars to their starting places and race them down the ramps! I loved the finished product of the raceway, once the whole thing was put together. This is really an adorable toy set for little builders, and even big boys and girls!

We thought it was super fun that the pieces of the race cars are also blocks, and can be interchanged, allowing the little builder to customize their race cars!

B absolutely loves this set, and had so much fun with it the day we purchased it, that he insisted on taking it to his grandparents house to play with, when he spent the night over the weekend.
