Is it fall yet? Everywhere I look, there are signs of fall- from decor in the stores to sweaters, boots and scarves out on the racks in clothing stores. I am wanting to make that big season switch of apparel in my closet, but there's one little thing holding me back... it's still hot as blazes here in NC! September is always the hottest month of the year, which is too bad for those of us who are tired of the hot temperatures, and just plain ready for fall to arrive. I know it won't be long, however, before the mornings and evenings are cool, the days become shorter, and no one will know how to dress comfortably because we'll be in a transition period in between seasons.

If there's one thing that I have learned from living in the south all of these years, it's that light, flowy fabrics and thin layers are your friends! Having a few 'go-to' pieces for the summer to fall transition is a must- especially pieces that are versatile and comfortable. As I looked for some fabulous pieces to feature in our Fall Fashion and Beauty Guide this year, I happened upon Lindsay's Secret Closet, owned and operated by Lindsay Heyneman. I couldn't wait to play dress up in this adorable solid tunic dress. Tunic dresses are a great choice for fall, because depending on how comfortable you feel in a shorter length dress, you can wear these in more than one way. Tunic dresses happen to look great with sandals, or if you're living in the south (like I am), the trend is to wear a tunic dress with cowgirl boots. I wanted to have a bit of fun while taking some photos, so I wore this tunic dress with boots and a belt, strictly for the purpose of the photos.

I dressed the tunic up a bit with cowgirl boots (Rampage) and a belt at the waist.

The tunic is so super comfortable, and airy. I love wearing fabrics that I can breathe in. It was hot, hot, hot when we took photos for this feature, and even though I had sleeves on, I was comfortable. The length of the tunic is great, and makes this piece very versatile. If you're comfortable enough to wear the tunic as a dress, without anything underneath, go for it! I thought it was a cute and sassy fall look with the boots and belt.

Truth be told, I cannot wait for the weather to cool off a bit, so I can wear this adorable tunic even more comfortably. Though I love the look of wearing this tunic as a dress, with the boots, to be honest, I'm a pretty modest gal, and will probably not style the tunic like this when I wear it out in public, but I will pair it with leggings this fall, or skinny jeans/jeggings for a dressed up casual look. This is the perfect thing for me to wear on a Sunday, as I lead worship at my church. The flowy, comfortable style will give me the freedom to move around as I sing and interact with the congregation. This is also a great style for moms (like me) who have little ones to look after- you still get that trendy look you want, while being able to keep it classy and modest, and doing your most important job. 

If you want to wear this style with leggings or jeggings, I would pair it with tall boots or ankle boots, and a long draping necklace. You could even add a longer length open cardigan if you wanted to add an extra layer for more texture.
