It's still August, and still hot outside, but I have definitely been seeing some clear signs that fall is just around the corner. The temperatures have been cooler in the mornings, leaves are starting to turn colors (already), the squirrels have been extra busy harvesting nuts, etc. Some folks around here are looking forward to fall so much, that they have begun putting together some of their fall outfits. I am one of those who looks forward to fall, but sort of gets suck in the transition... you know- what on earth do I wear when it's still warm, a bit cool, and not officially fall yet?

I don't have a lot of statement jewelry, and quite frankly, I have been a bit wary of it, because I was sure that if I tried to wear it, I would definitely style it the wrong way. I was ready to take the plunge, however, and selected a pretty necklace, which I couldn't wait to wear!

A burst of mint and gold greeted me, as I removed the lid from my box.
I chose the Mint Sunburst Statement Necklace, because I love the mint color. The gold is very rustic looking, giving the necklace a vintage look and feel, even though it's a brand new piece. Though it's a statement necklace, it's not overbearing or gaudy- it's classic and simple, with a pop of color, which is what I prefer when wearing necklaces.

The Sunburst statement necklace measures 22" in length and features a 1" adjustable chain extender.
I love that the necklace is adjustable. I really dislike not being able to wear certain necklaces with certain tops, because the necklace won't adjust, and then it clashes with the neckline of my top. This feature makes it easy for me to wear the Sunburst statement necklace with just about any top!
I couldn't wait to wear my new necklace from Wild Butterfly Boutique, and thought the best way to feature it, would be to wear it with basic black. Black is a staple color for me all year long, and one of the reasons that I love wearing black, is because I can have fun with my colorful accessories when I don't have crazy colors or patterns to compete with.

I have also been wearing my new Mint Sunburst Statement Necklace with grey and white tops. I'll really love wearing this in the late winter, when I am longing for spring and color once more! It just seems that the statement necklace makes the statement so much better without fighting with the competition of a printed top. Therefore I would wear a solid color top or dress.
