It's hard for me to believe that so many of the 'kids' in my life, have just graduated high school, and some of them have just graduated college! These are kids I babysat for, helped with their homework and projects, took them to the Country Club pool during summer break from school, and I even helped some of them with their potty training! With so many stand out kids in my life who are taking their first big steps out into the world on their own this fall, it's only natural to want the best for them. I certainly remember my first dorm room, and even my first apartment, and being so thankful that there were folks in my life who wanted to help me get started with some pretty amazing graduation gifts.
I know that getting started in your own place can be very exciting, and also expensive, if everything starts piling or adding up. That's why, when we attend a graduation party, we like to present the grad with thoughtful gifts that will be useful to them in the years ahead.
Finding the perfect gifts for grads can be tough, especially if the grad is someone you don't know super well. Sure, you could hand over a card with cash, and it would be appreciated, but if you're anything like me and my husband, you like to actually put a little thought into your gifts, and give a gift that you know will really surprise and excite the recipient. That's why we turn to Best Buy for the very best and affordable gift picks, for all types of occasions, graduations included!
Amazon Fire TV- $99.99
Hubby and I think that the Amazon Fire TV is a great gift option for any grad- either headed to college, or setting up their very first apartment or house. When you've just graduated, you're looking to save money, and this is a great option for folks who just want to watch a little something, on demand, without having to pay for monstrous cable bills! With so many favorite movies and shows at your fingertips, this makes an ultimate awesome gift for any grad. For kids headed to college, this allows the student to take a study break, or relax with friends on the weekends, watching whatever they want to, instead of having to worry about what they may or may not be able to watch, depending on what's offered by the school, if anything. The ability to watch a movie or favorite show on demand may be a welcome thing for kids who may feel a little homesick as they begin their college career, far from home.
I'd be over the moon to receive the Amazon Fire TV as a graduation gift! I remember how much fun my college roommates and I had staying up late, and watching old favorite shows that were in syndication on television. It would have been so cool to have been able to watch whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted to! I also remember what it was like to be in my very first apartment, all on my own, with just a couple of TV channels, because I couldn't afford cable. This would have been awesome to have!
