With summer fast approaching, I have been focusing a lot of the outside appearance of my home. I love making our cozy home enjoyable by our family, and I also enjoy giving it a bit of curb appeal so my neighbors and passersby have something nice to look at. The inside of my home, is another story. The more time spent outside, the less time spent inside, and unfortunately, that doesn't mean that the messes dissipate! I am trying to let some of the little messes go, but still can't take a messy home.
I have always been a stickler for making the beds every morning. Even if the room is a big mess, making the bed seems to somehow make it look much less messy, and give you a good place to start when you're ready to clean up. I love my bed- it's a cozy place to chill, it's where I want to be when I don't feel well, or want to relax, and it's where I get my beauty rest. I've been spending a lot more time in my bed than I used to, because hubby and I just got a new set of sheets that have changed our world!

My hubby and I have been intrigued by bamboo over the past couple of years. I received my first bamboo dress last summer, and fell in love with how soft it was. We've talked about bamboo flooring, and have even talked about bamboo sheets, but never really made a leap to change our bedding, because we have always slept on 100% cotton sheets. When we were given the chance to try a bamboo bedding set from Cariloha, I was so excited, and couldn't wait to see what bamboo sheets felt like!

h a printed Cariloha card inside. I fell in love with the blue color of the sheets right away. Though there were several colrs to choose from, I went with the blue, because it's such a calming color, and makes us think of being near the ocean. We've been on two cruises to the Caribbean, so I was ready for a touch of island life back at home through these sheets.

My mother-in-law happened to be over to our house for dinner when we first opened the sheet set. We were all eager to run our fingers over the bamboo sheets, just to see what they felt like. At first touch, they felt very soft- sort of creamy and buttery. I took the sheets to the laundry room, to give them a wash before using them for the first time, which I would recommend. I was very careful when it came to washing the sheets. I washed them in cold water, and then dried them in the dryer on the super low/delicate setting. The sheets need to be removed from the dryer immediately, or they will wrinkle.
Once the sheets were out of the dryer, I made the bed with them, immediately. Check out this gorgeous blue fitted sheet!

I was so happy that the fitted sheet fit right onto our mattress, with ease. Some of our cotton sheets have fitted sheets that are so tight, I can't get them onto our mattress by myself, because I'm not strong enough to pull them tightly enough! The Cariloha bamboo fitted sheet went on with no problem. As soon as I got the fitted sheet onto the bed, I jumpped onto the bed and laid down on top of the sheet. It felt amazing against my skin- though I knew the true test would come later, when we got into bed to go to sleep in between these new sheets.
Next came the flat sheet, which had a lot of extra overhang on the sides, so I tucked the sheets in.
I was glad for the overhang on the sides of the queen flat sheet. My husband and I both like to wrap up in the sheet and covers when we sleep, so with the overhang, we're not both fighting for a section of the sheet! We've both got plenty of the sheet to keep us comfy through the night.
Of course, to properly make the bed, I folded the flat sheet down, and make a nice crease...
...and then added our pillows back to the bed, freshly covered in the Cariloha pillowcases, which came with the sheet set.

The bed looked so gorgeous with our lovely new blue bamboo sheets by Cariloha. Often times, our bed looks so pretty that I almost don't want to get into it at night time, but you know- it's where we sleep, and stuff. So, hubby and I turned down the bed very carefully, and got into our new sheets. As we did so, and my toes wiggled down in the sheets, I felt like I had just gotten into a bed at a luxury hotel. Seriously- these sheets are the most comfortable hotel quality sheets I have ever laid down in between. I have been to a lot of nice places, stayed in some lovely hotels, and have never experienced sheets as soft as the ones we received from Cariloha. There was no tossing and turning from me as I tried my hardest to fall asleep- it was a natural, cozy drifting off to dreamland for me, which is unusual. My husband also fell right to sleep. I often wind up chilly in the night, and hubby winds up hot, which leaves the bes a big, tangled mess in the morning. We have both felt like we've been sleeping at the perfect temperature since we switched our sheets out with the Cariloha bamboo sheet set. Neither of us have gotten too hot or two cold- the temperature has been just right. The bamboo sheet set with pillowcases is also hypo-allergenic, which has been helping both of us sleep more comfortably, and keeping us from waking up with lot's of sleep gunk in our eyes. We love our new sheets so much, that we can't wait to get into our bed at the end of each day, and relax a little while, before we drift off to sleep.
