One of the sometimes frustrating things about springtime here in the Carolinas, is that spring can mean sweaters and boots, or tank tops and flip flops. We sometimes experience a cold rain one day, and blistering hot sunshine the next. I never fully pack away my sweaters, until I am positive that it is going to be hot for several months. Luckily, I have learned the art of layering, meaning that I use a cute tank top as a base for an outfit, and layer a sweater or jacket with it. Everything I put on has to look cute- both on its own, or worn together with something else. After all, at the end of the day, all I'll be left with, is this very first thing I put on that morning.
As I began to hunt for some great spring and summer layering essentials, I found El's Briar Patch. El's Briar Patch is an adorable Etsy shop, owned and operated by Rachel Kuhel, of Newnan, GA. Rachel has a passion and knack for creating personalized items, and feels that monogramming is a fun way to do that. If anyone knows a thing or two about cute layering essentials, it's Rachel! It's hot down in Georgia, y'all! Rachel was kind enough to offer to send me one of her Monogrammed Racerback Tank Tops, and I was excited, as well!
My package fom El's Briar Patch...
My package was wrapped up in tissue paper, and stamped with the EBP logo.
I couldn't wait to unwrap the monogrammed racerback tank top, and take a peek at it! Rachel allowed me to send her my color preference, along with thread preference for the monogram, and I knew it was going to look great!
Ta- da... here's a look at my hot pink monogram! Doesn't it look great?
There were about twelve tank top colors to choose from in the El's Briar Patch shop. I knew that all of the colors would have been wonderful, and was really tempted to choose a coral, mint or aqua color. For some reason, however, I love wearing grey! When I saw that there was a grey and white striped tank option, there was no question about it- that was the tank for me! I figured that a hot pink or aqua blue thread color for the monogram would really pop, and I was right!
Full view of the front of the racerback tank top. This is a size small.
The tank is thin, and lightweight, which makes it the perfect piece for layering. It looks super cute inderneath a sweater or jacket, and then worn alone, too. The tank is cotton, so it's very comfortable, and extremely soft, as well. The racerback tanks are available in sizes S-XL. I sometimes go with an XS, or S, depending on how they look like they'll fit. I fall somewhere in between a size 2 & 4, so there's always a chance that a S will run a bit large. When I tried the tank on, I layered a plain white cami underneath (you'd want to, as the tank is pretty thin), and was pretty happy with the fit. It's a little bit loose throughout, but that's the way it's meant to fit. The fit up top was great!
Loving the hot pink monogram... and yes, it's always interesting to walk around with my monogram reading 'OWN.'
I love the whimsical font used in the monogram, too! Makes it stand out, and it's lots of fun!
I couldn't wait to wear my new monogrammed racerback tank top from El's Briar Patch out and about! The first time I wore the tank, was a particularly hot spring day, the weekend before Easter, and there was really no need to layer it with a sweater. We were planning on being outside for most of the day, and I knew I'd need to be cool and comfy, so the tank was a great choice for me.
Here we are, early Saturday morning at Dunkin' Donuts, grabbing a special breakfast treat.
...and here we are, taking a ride on the Easter Bunny Express!
It's hot out here by the trains, but we're happy, stylish, and stayin' cool!
I was so comfortable in my monogrammed racerback tank top all day long! We started our special day with breakfast out, and then we went to an Easter egg hunt in our neighborhood. At that point in the morning, I paired the tank top with skinny capris. After the egg hunt, we ran home quickly, and then I changed into shorts, because it was really geting warm- into the 80's! We walked around the NC Transportation Museum for most of the afternoon, enjoying the train ride, and activities, many of which were located outside.
I was tickled that I received numerous compliments on my racerback tank top, and a lot of girls and ladies were even stopping to ask where I got it from. I was delighted to share about El's Briar Patch with them! I can't wait to enjoy this tank all spring and summer long! It's going to be the perfect piece to take along on vacation, a late summer beach trip, day trips to the lake, or just to knock around in!
