Weekends with the Wigglesworths: Groceries, Baking and Snow Forts!

This weekend snuck up on us pretty quickly (snow days both Monday and Wednesday) and I am not complaining! I wish every weekend arrived as quickly as this one has. Today, we are going grocery shopping. It’s not so exciting for the girls (or my husband)  but I love it. I have our monthly menu planned out and I like having everything in the house for the upcoming week, it just puts my mind at ease.

I am also hoping for some fun in the snow today, since we have so much of it. The last time, Reese was not a fan and I ended up holding her almost the entire time we were outside. I think with both Matthew and I there, she will be a bit more relaxed about it. I’d really love to build a snow fort, if the snow is not too heavy and hard.

A snow fort like this would be nice!

Tomorrow, we are BAKING! Our good friends over at Among Friends Baking MIxes sent us some mixes to try out for an upcoming review/giveaway. One of our family’s favorite activities is baking/cooking. Both girls love it, and as “dated” as it may be, I love that they enjoy learning a life skill that they can teach their children MUCH later on in life and it’s a great way to teach them some pretty basic math and science ideas! I also really appreciate that they enjoy spending this time with me and in addition to all the goodies we will make, we are also making some great memories!

Drew and Reese Mixing Away!

After we are done baking, we are going to be trying out some new smoothie recipes for our upcoming Yummi Pouch review! So, I cannot forget to grab some plain yogurt, bananas, strawberries, and any other fruits the girls may want to try. Maybe I will hide a few veggies in one of their smoothies, since getting the girls (Drew especially) to eat their vegetables is like trying to get me to eat something with mayonnaise on it- it just does not happen!

What are some of your family’s favorite activities? Will you be participating in any this weekend? We’d love to know, so leave a comment below!

Have a great weekend!

  1. Sounds like a really nice weekend with the family. We are just relaxing this weekend. I had a busy week and last weekend we were running all over the place so I'm looking forward to doing a little reading.

  2. I love that you involve your kids in the baking. We do, too! Our love to shape yeast breads/rolls. We don't have enough snow here for snow forts, but those are marvelous!
